It's amazing how the training pretty much comes down to the vehicles. I got really lucky. The guy who trained me was pretty straight up and had me actually deliver mail on my shadow days. I will say that being a cca is the hardest thing I have ever done. I made it a few months. I am 56 years old. I have done some endurance events and a shit ton of looooooong hikes but the mileage 6 days a week is grueling. I changed crafts to clerk and that woks better for me. I have all the respect for the carriers. I don't think the average person understands what they do.

Under 40 and over 40 I imagine turnover for people 40+ is close to 100%. A courier job isn't for someone starting out over 40.

Got orientation Monday. Got a 80 mile drive in front of me. At least the hotel is paid for by the USPS. It’s either this or the army. Think I’d rather be a mailman. Haha

Maybe in the new contract CCA will be abolished but major cities everyone starts as a PTF since everyone pays more than $20 an hour.

Already my new diet will be chicken and healthy foods...after a day of long walking I'm not gonna eat fast food. WATER AND POWERADE STOCK PILING!...hopefully in time overtime comes.

Careful with those sugar filled Powerade and Gatorades. Go low sugar drinks and eat foods with salts at work.

I'm very nervous to start with all the people talking but I've had very tough days catering or working as a bartender standing for over 10 hours at a time. I'm hoping I'll be good but I'm just going to come prepped with my food and drinks and man up. Gotta make a living for myself somehow and stop riding mommy and daddy's coattails. Gives me bad anxiety but one day at a time!

Having a 1 year cca case the route for a new cca is the worst experience you can ever have and was my last with usps one day good next bad because ccas casing residual
