New Contrast Paints - Are They Worth It?

Let's talk about Games Workshop's upcoming paint release, and the question on everyone's mind is: are they worth it, and how different are they from their predecessors?
GW was kind enough to send us all the new paint and while in England, Adrian participated in a preview day where we got to try the new paints first hand! Let's dive on in and see how they perform.

Kroxigor scales specifically was a colour I wanted to paint my bloodbowl lizards so hopefully it looks better over those models as it's a bit rough on the flat surface

It’s nice that you can get a good opaque base layer with the bright colors - but that’s not really the advertised purpose of contrast paints, right? Do they have much contrast? Or are they just good as solid colors?

@@HobbyTitans as it happens there is...you can go the sporting look which involves a skeet vest (anything from an expensive Italian castalani vest) To the all popular American Barepelt custom vests with a baseball cap....or you can go super English traditional and where a tweed shooting outfit from the likes of Laksen with a flat cap or various other traditional cap types 👍 both of which make your hobby vest look very normal! I need to find you a blacksmith flat cap hat though!

I thin the contrast paints are a tool, nothing else. There are too many videos out ther which are little more than GW propaganda pitching contrast as the best thing since sliced bread. It's a tool to use in your paint repertoire, and that's it.
