I can get on board with this, even though you did create lovely looks. The packaging is too gaudy (way too much) and I agree with what you said re these fashion houses creating makeup. I do live for those Sonia brushes, though. 😊

I have heard recently that "Mafia Wife Style" is a thing now, and Dolce & Gabbana seems to fit into that category in my mind. I've never been interested in buying or wearing anything from them. I will say that if you took the mattes from this palette and added a few more neutrals, it could be a really gorgeous springtime look, though.

😂😂😂 Nunchaku’s 😂😂😂 Many many years ago my ex husband worked out with those things. I thought he was going to beat himself in the head with them. 😂 Now I can’t look at that palette without thinking about this. Not sure what D&G was thinking when they designed the packaging. The layout of the shadows.. meh. Not pleasing to those of us that like a semblance of order as opposed to chaos. The colors well they really aren’t something I personally would use together although I did like your first look using the palette. Sonia G brushes…. I love her brushes. They are extremely well made and the detail is always great. I’m not sure I really “need” this set. A definite comparison between other Sonia G and Rephr brushes would be helpful. Hi Rebecca, glad you reviewed this palette. I think the design of the palette looks cheap like an oversized Keychain that you would hang off a 🎒 takes away from the shadow. The layout is hard to look at!! It reminds me of that horrible coach makeup that was sold at Sephora. You know the mini palettes were different animal shapes and they were ment to hang off you bag!! ❤😂

I hate the palette but love your video! You have the best sense of humor and are so enjoyable to watch! I don’t like the eyeshadow colors, layout of the colors or the case. I do like the DG smaller 4 shadow palettes, which I saw on Harrods website, but no one seems to be reviewing those; maybe they are older palettes? Thanks again for a fun, genuine video!!

I don't like the D&G packaging, but i like that they are bringing colour. Of course i want the Sonia G brushes but i had to pass on these 😫 I've been using alot of smaller indie brands for eyeshadow over the pass 18 months because they have been amazing. I absolutely love eyeshadow I'm artistic so i use all kind of colours. I always do my eyeshadow first before foundation.

I bought my first Sonia G face brush. I have decided im im a low buy with blush eyeshadow and lip products 😂 i have bought way to much and only have one face but it is so tempting watching utube all the time. Im gonna buy some more brushes and hopefully that is it for the next month.

Obviously love the 1st eye u did better lol that first shade was incredible on your eyes... actually not as expensive as I thought, yes expensive but thought would be more.. i don't mind the diagonal diamond dee look but somehow they look crooked which may be done on purpose but its weird but looks fun

Yay! I was so excited for this review💃🏿 I love this palette! I do not mind the layout of the pans because the pans themselves are normal just slanted. If the pans were a mishmash of square, circle and like stars, I would be annoyed. The shadows are so pretty and I love the color story. The chain does not bother me since it is, as you said, editorial and removable! You looked so pretty-the shadows were lovely on you❤❤

The real unanswered question - when will the turquoise squirrel get the chance to live its truth? I so so wish I could afford another new Sonia G set but I’m realising keeping up with limited edition releases pretty much requires the GDP of a medium sized country, and I’m not even a city state. The beauty industry really has learned how to use the ‘fear of missing out’ thing to perfection. This latest set has been in and out of my Beautylish basket like there’s no tomorrow, but there probably there is a tomorrow and I need to eat. The D&G palette looks like it was put together by people with a good sense of humour and strong powers of persuasion. I mean someone had to convince someone else that putting a huge blingy chain on an eyeshadow palette and making it unnecessarily huge to fit in lots of lovely empty space was all an excellent use of a production budget . The actual shadows remind me of a Huda Beauty release with pretensions and slightly stickier glitter, but somehow you managed to get two gorgeous wearable easy looks out of it which really shows how very good you are at this applying makeup business. Thanks for another great video!

I love your comments. Like I live for them. First of all, the turquoise squirrel has an uncommon genetic trait that makes him unsusceptible to FOMO. Instead, I believe he runs the beauty division of dolce and Gabbana. Unfortunately, he has an incredibly bad design aesthetic but is surrounded by sycophantic “yes squirrels” who approve all of his designs. The gold chain, however, was added by the peach squirrel who thinks it is invincible because it is the Pantone squirrel color of the year.

thank you for the review - i was looking for swatches but yours are the only ones i’ve seen so far. other reviewers seem to have passed on this one. the colors are really pretty and if the pans were just laid out in a rectangular case i would’ve bought it. the packaging is just too oddly shaped, the DG is too loud, the chain is too tacky, and the layout will give me a headache looking at it. luxury makeup is supposed to be a pleasure to look at and use but this palette is not pleasant at all.

I bought it and immediately packed it back up to return. The quality of the palette itself feels like it will break really easily. The plastic was very "Clairs." The eyeshadow colors are fun, though 😅

I like the colors they chose. It’s a fun color story that could give a lot of different looks. The mattes looked especially lovely on the eye. The looks you made were pretty! My grandmother would say, “Lisa, stop writing right there. If you don’t have anything nice to say, say nothing at all.” Sorry, Mamaw! Rebecca would think my account had been hacked if I stopped there! The packaging is an eyesore. It is tacky in a boring way even without the chain! Add the chain and WHAT??!! It’s not edgy and cool, or fun and different…it’s embarrassing. It’s like they asked a bunch of 7 year olds for design advice on what would look “fancy” (and it’s a nunchuck!😂) Then when you open the palette it only gets worse. OMG!! 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Why?! With the stupid shape of the packaging I guess they couldn’t do any sort of normal lay out, but the irregular gaps between the shadows make my eye twitch. At least they only have one pan shape! (That last sentence was for you, Mamaw!) From now on, I will always think of a rainbow of squirrels when I’m in the backyard! 🌈🐿️

OK. We have complete respect for your lovely grandmother. But I have got to tell her, I would’ve been so disappointed if you hadn’t gone on to discuss the ridiculous packaging. You know I needed to hear it. You know it made my day. It’s so true. It’s like why earth would it be so ugly? And you know, remember, I come from the fashion side of things so I have a lot of experience with the house and I have a lot of experience with what I consider to be similar houses like that in Italy like Versace. And I just… Whenever I think of them I remember that I went to buy this beautiful Versace skirt and blouse for an event. I think I was 22 and just starting out in the industry and I was super tiny I was like a 36 in Italian sizes which is really itty-bitty and I just remember the nasty man who worked there looked me up and down. I told him I was a 36 and he yelled to the back room, “bring a 40!” and I just think of all of that and the stuff is so gaudy. I don’t know why I thought of that story but it just makes me giggle I don’t know if I’ve told it before but it just makes me laugh yes. I think I might have told it on our live because it always makes me laugh and I always think about it when these slightly gaudy Italian fashion houses Come out with gaudy products..

This is tough because I really do love them both but I’m gonna go with the T3 because of the shape of the handle and because the tip is a little bit stronger so it can be used in a little bit more of a multipurpose way but I am truly splitting hair here, no pun intended, as they are both. Oh no! You’re kidding me! Isn’t that the worst? And, if you’re anything like me, you knew it because there was shadow fragments on the outside of the packaging, right? Like the outside of the pallet is kind of dusty pink and you realize it means there is shattered product inside. Did that happen to you also?

The palette packaging is in line with the house. They don’t cater for mass appeal. D&G has done well with fragrance over the years. These spring colors look light and contrast with the palette vibes. No blues for me.

Unpopular opinion - I absolutely love it! I love the palette, I think it’s fun, and the colors look great aside from the blues. I prob won’t get it cause I’m not wearing eyeshadow much these days but if it was, I’d get this for sure.

I don’t like the layout of the pan, I find the case too bulky and the gold link chain not necessary, it’s too ostentatious. As for the brushes I’m not good with makeup (although I love it) and don’t think an expensive set of brushes would make a difference in my application of my makeup. I actually enjoy your application of the products, you make me think it is doable for me. Some beauty Vloggers do these elaborate looks while pretty I know I could never duplicate them.

The completely obnoxious logo/packaging of this palette was an immediate turn off to me. But you are so entertaining and am excited to see your take on it 😂. The layout is chaotic and I don’t understand the kinda random color story. The whole thing is just odd and tacky IMO. But I know you will make this thing work for you!

I think I really need a brush-cleaning towel like that. I wonder if the Lisa Eldridge washclothes would work for that? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

I use towels like these every day on my eye and cheek brushes. I just use makeup eraser knockoffs I got on Amazon. I throw them in a lingerie bag and into the washer when they’re all dirty. They clean up beautifully. They are also great for travel because you can pack fewer brushes. With the makeup eraser you can reuse all of your brushes without any product transfer.

Totally agreed with Lisa. For my every day use I just use the cheapo make up remover towels and throw them in the washer and dryer. And they do work wonders and then you can avoid cleaning your brushes all the time which is not good for the natural hair. Lisa, I rambled and rambled on my last comment to you and I realize I forgot to go in and add punctuation. I promise I was just doing speech to text and not drinking wine.

Such a beautiful palette! I got mine today and it had two shadows broken 😞 I’m so sad about it. Fortunately, I’ll be getting a refund but I’m worried to get it again because it doesn’t look like it travels well.

Hahaha, you know me too well, Rebecca! Hmmm, the outside packaging component fits with the design house and it’s not terrible, just screams the over the top vibe of D & G. I’d leave on my dressing table because it’s the only DG I would probably ever own😂 Now the inside is what sends me into orbit!!! Ok, it really bothers me that the outside packaging and the inside orientation do not match. Ok, i’m weird. The outside packaging is horizontally oriented but when you open it, the inside layout is vertical. If i’m opening this case, I’d expect the inside to also be horizontal, not vertical. Hmmm, speaking of the layout, why the empty space and weird placement?? This makes it nearly impossible to figure out how to use it. Are consumers really asking for this layout or do brands this adds value? I’m actually watching again because I couldn’t focus on the palette. It’s very pretty but I could never open it to use😂😂 I didn’t pick up this Sonia G set. I read her blog and she said these new brushes are pretty much the same as the recently launched Traditions brush set, which I LOVE, minus the fact that she didn’t put the brush name on the brush but T1 etc.,😂 If I remember correctly, the bristles are a variety of goat hair, which makes some of them softer or denser and changes how color applies to the eyes. I see the set is still available so I might pick up. Those microfiber towels are the very best!!! A comparison of the original Traditions brush and this new set would be awesome. So happy you are reviewing the palette. I don’t like the packaging for certain or the layout, but I’d love to see how the actual shadows perform. I’m wondering if that black cream shadow might work as a base for the shimmery/duochrome/multichrome shadows to make them really pop. I’m on a fude no buy. I have plenty.

Good morning, Rabbi!! There sure has been a lot of fude lately. From all sides it’s been a little overwhelming. So I understand that. I would absolutely love this palette but the packaging is its worst enemy. The shadows, however, perform beautifully

I like the pallet, it's kinda Goddie but since it's from DG I'm here for it. If they did a normal Square palate and normal layout I feel it would have felt more normal and boring. It's DG I'm here for the Numb chuck jewelry. Lol 😆

That DG palette is a huge NO for me. The size and the huge DG + chain, in my opinion, is hideously tacky. I do not like the lay out nor do I like the color story. I give you credit for buying it. I know it’s pricey. I do love Sonia G brushes. She really puts a lot of thought into the construction, design and functionality. Thank you for a wonderful review and brightening my day ❤❤❤

I'm not a fan of oddly laid out pans either. The recently released Lethal Cosmetics 2UP Palette was blasted for it's amount of wasted space. There's no need for this. I do feel that this release is for the younger, wealthier members of society. I've been noticing for sometime that glitters have been returning without any complaints. I'm afraid at my age, I'm not about to be walking around with chunky glitters plastered to my lids. It would have been a much better palette if it simply had shimmers and mattes that were useable for all and not a specific group. I ask you Rebecca, would you walk down the street swinging your eye-shadow palette from a chain? If the pans could be removed, I'm happy to convert, yet this one is far to over the top for me to use out in public. As for brushes, I'm overwhelmed and don't need to consider anymore.🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty Such a waste! I bought two of the Dior Écrin Face and Eye-shadow Palettes and lifted the entire tray out of them. There's plenty of room when you're not wanting to carry too much. There was a silver Miss Dior Face Palette released a number of years ago with a nice dainty chain attached to be used as a wrist-bag. Again, all you do is lift the tray off the top and keep the make-up separate to the bag. I've used mine, but I'm not that crazy about the giant DG over this one you have.💖

Supposedly no. And I can only go on what I am told. Supposedly they collect the hair and the animals are well treated. This can go off in a crazy direction with peoples alternate suspicions but, again, we can only go on what we are told.

And to have to pay an extortionate amount of money for the privilege? Ok so D&G aren’t a so called ‘quiet luxury’ brand (don’t let’s get started on that silly label…) but they’ve excelled themselves this time! Suffice to say, it’s a resounding no from me!

Wait. So I’m confused. So it’s a yes? Tee hee hee. I hear ya. I really do. Garish is indeed a good word for it. so I do that video called meh-Kup where I talk about all the makeup on the market that’s just so so and I’m trying to figure out whether or not to include this. But I’m a little confused because the shadows actually do perform really well but the layout is honestly ridiculous or, as you say, garish, completely.
