WretchedWacko Well #1 I was gonna agree, but until you brought up RDR2 I had to cut it off. RDR2 is more overrated being its a Rockstar product. And there are other good games that didn't need to be open world that made it big but also didn't like Manhunt 2 for example. It's now banned due to the gruesomeness. Those that have the game on psp bless ya. But being this game is open apocalypse with a deep gritty biker story, I'm expecting something good from the story. The gameplay however MIGHT get repetitive if youre just a freakin try hard the whole story mode everytime you play

Chive05 I have played a lot of zombie games both good and bad and I honestly believe this will be the first one where I feel threatened facing a massive horde, in past games such as dead rising, dying light, the walking dead survival and left for dead 1 and 2 the hordes were large but manageable because only one or two would attack you, but the zombies in this game and the world war z game the hordes are like a swarm of hive insects all attacking at once

No horde mechanic like this one, the infected migrate, they have to eat and drink, they eat each other. There's many many things that will in my opinion make this surpass dying light. Not to downplay dying light because it's clearly an absolutely amazing game. Now Dying Light 2 is a different story.

It showed how garbage the cutscenes and gameplay are(the MC got scolded for not knowing how to track, but then proceeds to have Batman level tracking skills the very next second, then a few seconds later he gets shot at by Boozer then it goes into a cutscene and he’s completely fine, then right at the end of the cutscene he points the gun at him but doesn’t shoot and just lets him get away?), it also showed how pointless the player choices are, you either get to shoot Boozer, or don’t and he gets shot anyway. So good job, you accomplished nothing. This game looks like a generic trash zombie game.

It was. Sucks too because most of us went into this KNOWING we would be making choices that changed the game depending on what was chosen. Then they stripped it because they thought it fucked up the flow of the story. What's even worse is that you can tell during most encounters that you were initially given a chance to choose a certain action or dialogue and now it's just sort of empty. Either way though I'm still having a good time with it. I'd say at least a 6/10. Aside from them stripping some content the only thing I found shitty (gameplay mechanic wise) was the driving. It's God awful. Other things that are kinda meh include: that weird ps2-esque loading screen, gameplay to cutscene switches are straight doo-doo, while being open world a lot of it still feels super linear somehow, the acting is TERRIBLE paired with cookie-cutter characters you dont give a shit about. Anyway this reminds me much less of TLOU like everyone was hoping and much more like State of Decay. Sorry for rambling in response to your comment lol my bad bro.

also it seems very clunky when switching between gameplay and cutscene. but other then that I think they have the basis for a good game.

Some great critique, except the story bit. We ultimately don't know what will occur in the end of the story.

I hope that it offers up some surprises (multiple endings would be great). Perhaps what I was feeling wasn't regarding the story. It feels a little Sons of Anarchy with the hard ass biker who is actually a good guy in his heart (not a bad thing). I hope that it can have a compelling story, as an avid reader I love getting lost in a good story and I always feel they add so much to a game.

I'd say the weapons also need to feel "weightier", better animations for recoil and damage effects, similar to how bullets stumble people in games like GTA5. The gun combat and even melee seems a little clunky.

well he was going to die no matter what & the choice did matter in that situation, it was all about how his brother felt after he made a choice, not what happened to the target. As I said he was going to die no matter what so it was a good idea for the other guy to shoot him because it shows in a very striking way his motives to the player. With choices that can have branching paths I expect there will be different outcomes seeing as the whole game has been showing off different ways to approach & handle situations.

Part of me thinks that Game Informer put these fades in because they edited together several different videos: the pure cutscenes then the commentary playthrough with actual gameplay. For example, around 4:30 it looks like a smooth transition from cutscene to gameplay broken up by a video editor.

Combo John definitely not like the last of us gunplay. This is way more unrealistic, no recoil, and looks rushed. It lacks everything that the last of us did well.

What makes the Guns look like pure trash in Days Gone so far is that the Enemies lack any sort of actual weight! Seriously even the CoD ragdolls feel more heavy than this! In the Last of Us every kill felt extremely deep and it felt like you actually crush someones skull! And considering that the ragdolls are that way since the first footage i highly doubt they wil improve on that :(

Maybe but thats not my point! The Ragdolls are utter trash! Even weak Zombies/Humans should feel like actually having a healthy weight to them when going down! They just drop like a bag of potatoes without any impact to it -.- its like in Watch Dogs or every Assassins Creed since AC3(1-revelations had a nice feeling with that while 2s Ragdolls were fucked up). Another example for Good feel of weight is Splinter Cell Chaos Theory/Double Agent and Blacklist. It feels like actually dropping a Human sized enemy rather than a human sized enemy with the weight of a fly :/
