In this video I'm giving you an introduction to my new garage workshop space. In the coming weeks you can watch me transform this from a bare concrete garage into a multi purpose workshop space. I will be using this shop for my woodwork projects as well as parts of my leather work (especially smelly stuff like dyeing). There will also be a garage gym or exercise area in the rear.

Exactly the garage space where I started :) If your plan is to sit there and work - biggest advice - get a heat pump / AC unit, install good ventilation and put real flooring no the plastic crap. It was such a nightmare from my feet being constantly uncomfortable and bad air simply prevented me from spending time there. Everything else is pretty much optional.

Always nice to start up a new workshop! Looking forward to see what you'll make of it! Are you going to do some sound insolation, can hear the noise of the traffic pretty well in this video...

Great to see you Ian 👍 may I suggest Proper DIY's channel for ideas to fully block the garage door behind to make the space usable.

Hi. I haven't noticed any ventilation. Have you considered adding some? You've mentioned finding moldy walls. That might be sign of a problem with humidity. Also, you would probably welcome fresh air in your future gym.

it's fine, no other issues with damp or mould in there now as I said in the vid I think it was just where they'd probably had a beer fridge up against the wall!
