I was at a Convention in 1990. Gene Roddenberry was on stage. He made an announcement that The Best of Both Worlds was being shown in the adjacent room. Everyone ran out to see it. This was a week before it aired on T.V.

I love how Ryan got to tell Elizabeth how impactful she was to him… I once got to thank Ray Bradbury in person

OK, WOW!! Elizabeth Dennehy is a fantastic guest!! Cirroc and Ryan were both fantastic in this interview, not only for the ability to keep Elizabeth going, but truly getting the best interview and still being incredible fans of this aweome human and the superb character she brought to life. I remember watching this when it aired back in the day and how her character really popped and took center stage so much. I was confused if I liked her, hated her or wanted to worship her. Guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree as her dad did the same sort of things to me with his acting (not to mention he was a jarhead like me). Missed hanging out with #ChatPack for this one, but they are still The Next Generation of #ChatFam!!

That is impressive that Best of Both Worlds is the only show where know lines of dialogue over all the shows she worked on.

What was anti-Shelby was her line in Picard "The organization that launched the NX-01 would become Starfleet". I don't believe that Shelby didn't know that starfleet launched the NX-01.

Another EXCELLENT interview, gentlemen! I have ALWAYS thought that Mr. Dennehy gave a superb performance as Commander Shelby, in both her delivered line and her body language in both "Best of Both Worlds" parts 1 & 2. Well done!

I have to say when Ryan said Shelby was one of the most remember guest stars. I was thinking, well that's because she's in multiple episodes. Only to look it up and see she was only in the two TNG episodes. So I have to agree, talk about rememberable guest star. Thanks for this interview.

June 18th was the actual air date of the episode in 1990.

I remember, at the time, thinking she was a breath of fresh air for the series and hoping she would stay.

This is one of the best episodes of The Next Generation and helped inspire pilot of DS9 Emissary with the Battle of Wolf 359.

I hated how Sisko was mad at Picard when he was too stupid to drop off his wife and son before embarking on a very dangerous mission

Bro, when you get a chance, look up a KZfaqr by the name of JTVFX (also known as Jason T VFX). He does the best recreations of a lot of visual effects shots for any Star Trek scene, whether it's from a movie or an episode, and this guy really did a hell of a job recreating, not only what happened with the Battle at Wolf 359, but what happened before and after. He did a 2-part prelude to Wolf 359 (in essence, what happened before the battle), and he's done Part 1 of the 2-part massacre of Wolf 359 (the moment the battle begins). Unfortunately, due to personal issues involving JTVFX, Part 2 of the Wolf 359 massacre won't be uploaded to KZfaq until the fall of next year, along with other Star Trek VFX projects. I'm also hoping that this guy will upload part 2 of the massacre on September 24th of next year so it can coincide with the 35th anniversary of "The Best of Both Worlds, Part II" (Part I's 35th anniversary is on June 18th). Trust me though, you're going to like the way this guy recreated the before, during and after events of Wolf 359. Here's a link to JTVFX's KZfaq page: youtube.com/@jtvfx1?si=8OJquxC-wVH9_1M2

I think not knowing ST, not loving Sci-Fi at the time, a little ignorance, actually brought a freshness to TNG. (a different angle) Love it! Part 1 Episode was outstanding! 1st cliffhanger for TNG!

This was great. This was like an acting lesion listening to this episode. That is impressive that this two parter is the only one episode where she knows the dialogue to it.
