Carlos from Corvus Belli tells us ALL we need to know about the new Reinforcements Rules for those diving into playing games of their Sci-Fi wargame, Infinity.

The Reinforcements rules allow you to bring in supporting units during the midgame. These reinforcements can be deployed further up the tabletop so they can dive deeper into the action. There is a limit to the reinforcements that can be used by each faction for this so you must choose wisely!
Throughout this week, we look at what units and characters can be used by the different factions including some new units!

Some interesting potential here, especially the fact that they can take you out of retreat. Imagine that, your forces on the verge of fleeing and then a screaming of jets overhead followed by a loud bang as Maximus lands with such force he splits the concrete, followed by a number of smaller thuds as the rest of his squad arrives. "Come on you apes, you wanna live forever?"

I like that this is a mod that people can choose and seems like it would have real impact on the back half of the game with the way it sounds like it interacts with retreating. Not just a "hide them off the board so they're not instantly annihilated" mechanic.

Now that we have a clearer idea of how reinforcements enter the table they seem like a really interesting mechanic to give armies a second wind, and I love how we players can tailor them to our own style of play. This seems very promising. I was talking with a friend recently about how reinforcements could work based on what had been said at that point, and we came up with something closer to this as what we hoped it would be.

The coolest part about CB is that they experiment with rules between editions. I love the fact that they still have a big focus on changing the game up and not just making new models. Although the models are still the best part about infinity 😁

Thats an interesting mechanic, I still remember the drop-pod paper model from Toposolitario. A physical model of a drop-pod would be a nice addition.

It is good to see that they were actually aware the fact why nobody used MIs in N3 (except some exceptional profiles). This gives me hope that they will eventually guide the N4 meta to a more ... manageable place.

I think what I actually love the most is the positivity in these comments. There are other places on the internet that make you think everything CB does is wrong from the get-go. Reading through this comment section shows me that the majority of the community is having CB's back, and I love that.
