Very nice find. I asked recently and the man who got the plow originally pulled by the RD4 resold it.

Nice plow. It should be all red frame with prairie gold wheels to be right, correct, and proper.

Nice find!! A lot of trip plows had cleats bolted to the wheel.. what I remember, they were about 1"× the width of the wheel, looked like a cut down 1" channel, giving it good grip.

It will be fun to see it in action along with everyone else.

My father had a 2 bottom Oliver plow and we wore that thing completely out. We would go through a set of plow shares every year and I believe he bought that thing new some time shortly after WW2. By the time I got to use it the Oliver plow shares were no longer available. I think he was buying John Deere plow shares and they would stick out about 2 inches past the front edge of the mold boards. By the time we got through plowing for the Spring they were worn even with the front edge of the mold boards and were only about half their original height.

All I can say it friggin awesome man!!!

You can weld leif springs, or old files to the shares to extend life. I've plowed with a MM plow slightly newer than that. My complaint was not enough clearance for corn stalks. Thanks Kyle.

Nice catch! I have a 2 bottom version of that, and the only real difference is that the tail wheel cup is filled with concrete. It looks like it came from the factory that way, but I can't say for sure.

We would have a Black Smith rebuild the plow shares and points years ago.

Good score!! The fact it has been used fairly recently definitely forgives any mismatch in parts; AND am I correct that the 4 bottom would be considered a rare piece these days?
