Finally some Volvo love on the channel. Volvo's are way underrated imo. Picked up a cheap 850 (beater with a heater) for $300 and have fallen in love with it. I wish manual Volvos were more popular in the states. Especially considering stock Volvo red blocks and t5 engines (I love the sound of 5 cylinders) can handle boost on stock internals.

Between that Volvo and Aston Martin, I will choose the wagon undoubtedly.

I was actually close to selling my 07' S60R to buy this V70R because it was the exact color combo I wanted with a manual transmission, but Alex - who I know personally - flew over to buy it. Awesome to see a car on a popular channel that I have physically touched myself and sat in. Gregson is taking good care of this V70R so I know I'll be seeing this car in good shape for a long while.

Absolutely love these cars... Got to go to Sweden for thier special delivery package to pick it up and drive it around Sweden. We saw so many castles and cool sights. Then shipped it back to good ole Montana. The ironic thing is that flying there, driving it around Sweden for a week, and having it shipped back to America was cheaper than buying a brand new one in the States. So much amazingness.

it's a great car I own a 2006 v70R man with bleu int runs great no issues but it's 100% stock as it's a daily winter car for me.

One Lap 2017 had a team running a turbo Volvo wagon. The guys running it were an awesome team, and the race driving was a paraplegic. Unfortunately I can't recall the name of their group off hand, but they had great success running that Volvo. The Swedes will surprise you if you're not paying attention.

For anyone wondering that is Tavarish's/ Doug Demuro's Aston Martin in the background. My family had an 06 S60 R years ago and damn do I miss that car.

I had a similar issue with my 69' 912 when I moved to NJ. While I had a clean title from my prior state of residence, NJ claimed my 912 was stolen... I freaked out but after a few weeks of waiting, we cleared it up and I was able to get it titled.

This would never happen here in Arkansas. There are so many rebuilt junkyard queens around here, so long as you can prove the vehicle exists, you can get a salvage / rebuild title. My 1949 Chevy panel-wagon that hasn't driven since 1978 is a prime example... The guy comes out, makes sure your vehicle has no obvious flaws, and he gives you two papers to fill out. Simplicity. Yay. Love the channel, I'll check out Shifting Lanes later!

I thought I might not like this guy and his story but actually he was quite good and interesting story.

Purchased my 06 s60R m66 with a clean title in handz When I went to renew it I had the same thing happen! Junked title ! Went to the junkyard it was scrapped in. Got a few papers signed. Went back and sorted it all out . Clean title now

I had a 96 Impala SS with a rebuilt title. After owning it for 3 years, I tried to trade it in. The dealership told me that according to Carfax, said Impala was crushed 1.5 years prior to the day I tried to trade. Was annoying trying to prove the car I had daily driven for 3 years wasn't in fact crushed and was in very good condition.

I had a manual '95 850 that saved my life in a terrible wreck. Then I had a '98 V70 T5 and my wife got a '01 C70 which had the T5 engine. I wanted a manual and R, but they were impossible to find at the time. They're great cars and I spend many hours putting on FCP Euro parts on them. We drove them to 250K and 200K miles respectively until we sold them. The problem is they're so bulletproof and can run great on worn parts for so long, that unless you keep up with them on everything, when something finally goes bad, it goes really bad.

The V70R is a sexy looking machine... And here I am 'stuck' with just a S60R! 😁

I totally get your desire for this car. I have been looking for a good specimen v70r with the m66 transmission ever since I had my s60r totalled out.

Similar situation happened to me. My s2000 was marked salvage in Texas. It was sold via auction into Kentucky where the title was washed to clean status. Sold into Ohio after that. Clean Carfax, etc. I'm the 3rd owner in Ohio, but the first owner to have the car flagged as salvage. Just like this story. I had to do all of the leg work for the history, I had to get it inspected. Pretty much the only help I had was from Ohio State Patrol who was unusually understanding once I told them it had been through Kentucky. I even ran it though VinWiki, and the only record was it being sold in Sugarland Texas back in 2011. Luckily now it's at the very least a rebuilt title, and it's still a blast to drive.

That is extremely typical for the NJ DMV. It took my wife and I over a month to get our drivers licenses renewed due to a clerical error as well, and they literally just laughed at me when I asked them what they can do due to the fact that our licenses expired from their clerical error. It was fixed when we refused to leave and demanded that the supervisor do something about it. Took her about 45 seconds.

Such a cool car. Luckily in the UK, they aren't as rare or as expensive so I will be making the voyage to Volvo ownership soon.

Got a lot of orange peel on the doors and the rear quarter seems hazy (not sure if thats the images or not due to quality or angle) but that orange peel really kills it on the sides, should wet sand with 2000 grit till its smooth and buff it, that'll make it reflect nice. Yes thats the only way to get rid of orange peel.

I miss my 2000 V70R AWD (P1) every day - I would love to have one again - the P2 Turning radious is absolute crap but overall that is a car I would want to have in my garage again one day!!

Someone accidentally hit my gf car on i295s and when the cops showed up and ran her vin the car came up reported stolen lol. Even though the vehicle title, insurance and registration were all under her name for the past 5yrs lol. The trooper made some calls and 3hrs later she was let go from the accident scene. Supposedly the ex owner ran a car theft ring but had already been caught. Here’s the best part. We still had a picture of the guys driver license on our phone from the purchase date. That helped out a lot!
