I really don’t see the mother as horrible more just hysterical and upset. She had a husband who steals from her and after trying to desperately get him back on track through God he ends up leaving her it very clearly scarred her and since she has a son she can’t help but see her husband in him seeing her drawn like that by her kid must’ve felt like no one likes her and even her own kin sees her as a monster. She obviously isn’t the best mother she can’t control herself and is clearly not mentally there but she does love Isaac and I think she was more disappointed and confused on where she went wrong.

​@@chokabitch9342 she's kind of the reason why Isaac's dad started gambling and went back to alcoholism, she racked up credit card debt and he's trying to gamble to pay it back, he was a recovering alcoholic and the stress from gamble losses drove him back into drinking, seeing how Isaac views him better than his mother and the fact that he taught Isaac how to use his imagination indicates that he at the very least tries to be the best father he could. Since he went through a traditional Christian marriage, it is likely that he was raised Christian but going off the fact that there were a lot of technology related items and the fact that he's confirmed to be a handyman, it's likely that he could be a man of scientific beliefs and that contrast in beliefs is likely what starts cracking down their marriage.

@@kevintrang3007 i mean the shit he went through must be at least partly real but I myself believe there is no happy ending, because I'm pretty sure his father left and did not come back ever, he might've also commited suicide, seen some fan theories and it checks out that his dad would be the "shopkeeper" or "greed" with rope hanging around neck. Also him suffocating in chest is kinda canon :s Still It's just a story so interpretation remains flexible

They’re all in the wrong or have major flaws in some way. You can’t blame one person for all of this. Unfortunately their story doesn’t end in a happy way but some days I daydream about a happy ending of Isaac at least where he gets to grow up and get therapy.
