Today I'm going over some Modern Horizons 3 cards that might have a big impact on cEDH. We've got a much requested stax piece, a new version of a staple creature, a free counterspell, and a remix of one of the most broken Magic cards of all time. I'm going over the cards, how they work, where they might show up, and the impact they'll have on competitive Commander.

Just came here to say that as well. With the ETB on the stack, hold priority, Tainted Pact/Consultation, counter their counter by sacrificing Thassa's. Boom.

Dude. A new Elemental Blast? I've been asking for them to complete that cycle since 1994. They keep printing wacky cards with a ton of abilities, but I just want to see these: White Elemental Blast to counter or destroy Black spells/permanents Black Elemental Blast to counter or destroy White spells/permanents Green Elemental Blast to counter or destroy Artifact spells/permanents So they skip all that and roll out one to stop multicolored spells? Weird.

Did you see, Glimpse the Impossible? (Sorcery) 2r, exile top 3 cards of ur lib, play this turn, if not at end step whatever is left goes to graveyard and you create (however many cards went to graveyard) 0/1 eldrazi token with, sac, add colorless. Seems good.

The thing I can see about bad necro. Is it’s legendary means it might see play in Sisay

Friends in my playgroup believe blue is getting way too much attention, and it's already above the other colors; I keep on telling them we should hold on and wait for the rest of mh3 to be revealed, for sure there will be great tools for the other colors as well. What do you think?

Decks that want more draw or payoffs will like necrodominance. I am probably still putting it into roger/Silas. Might even playtest switching to dualcaster/twinflame/heatshimmer add a bunch of red rituals

I do think it’s nice to have two necro effects for turbo type decks too. Do you think necro dominance can have a spot in a Sisay build?

It doesn't seem like a natural fit for them, but I'm sure some will test it out.

I'm hoping that black and red decks actually get some decent cards this set. Not super impressed with Necrodominance.

I think this new necro is a lot more weaker than it seems than og necro. Not being able to do the graveyard with borne and having 5 max hand size will be worse than it seems. Not to mention you actually have to draw the cards.

Is Necrodominance good in Sisay?

Hard to say! Could show up in some builds, but Sisay might be an odd package to slot it into with the way the deck is currently built.

Necrodominance looks mid, much worse than necrop due to the mentioned bowmasters or even something like topdeck control with counterbalance, the fact about exile does really destroy the breach lines as well. I think it's probably better than the ring for burst draw. The new counter feels pretty poor, functionally cancel unless you have a creature to sac and blue decks don't ppay enough creatures. Bluefarm being to able to dump kraum doesn't actually sound bad but it's a long way from either force or fierce.
