Thwaites would be pretty good for an Elseworld story. And I could have sworn that Gunn confirmed both Nightwing and the Cassandra Cain Batgirl are going to be in the Brave and the Bold.

Drake Rodger needs to be Nightwing for James Gunn's DCU. Brenton Thwaites is too old being 35 and by the time they introduce Nightwing, Brenton would be almost 40. So we need someone younger. So I choose Drake Rodger and he's 24

my pick for Nightwing is Nicholas Galitzine. To me it's a no brainer. He's always playing the impossibly hot, young princely looking character so that would fit nicely with Dick Grayson who's kinda the hot young prince of Gotham (or Bludhaven but i imagine the movie's gonna be primarily set in Gotham). He's pretty athletic already and is no stranger to dynamic sports and he's always threading the line between cool, sassy and genuinely kind. Plus, Nicholas has been all over lately, so he's very popular and he does very much stimulate the gay and female gaze, making him quite the talking piece (think of how Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Holland, Henry Cavill or Jason Momoa are the same)

I highly doubt they'll cast a Nightwing that is older than Superman, chances are they'll go for someone in their mid 20s to play the character.

Unfortunately Thwaites and Egerton are too old as Thwaites is older than Superman. DCU Nightwing needs to be younger than Superman. Montgomery is only 2 years younger than Superman…so I’m not sure that will work either.

I was hesitant about Brenton when he was Robin until I saw him in season one of Titans and after that I was sold that he is a great Choice for Robin/NightWing. I honestly know he would be a great Choice if he got the chance to don the mask and suit again for the movie
