Here's my reaction to this absolute banger of an Alpharad video. I went through so much emotional rollercoaster in this video, I think I'm gonna need (more) therapy :D I absolutely LOVED this video, the illustrations, the story arc. It's a masterpiece and amazing to watch ;-;

It’s sort of amazing how Alpharad were both lucky and unlucky throughout this Run and yet, every Run he has shown to do after this one, shows him pretty much being the luckiest guy in the Pokémon Community, to a certain extent.

I mean, he was only really unlucky when fighting the Jynx near the end (aside from the Onix KO which was just multiple bad decisions) everything else was his own fault for not bothering to properly level and making bad decisions. Good luck can only compensate for so much.

@@timemonkey yeah. Like, im not about to go full on "hes a bad player," or anything. But a LOT of his problems boiled down to human error, not RNG. XP

The reason Psychic did more damage than Future Sight was because the Alakazam wasn’t as set up when it used Future Sight, and the damage roll used the stats from when it was cast.

Fun fact: Alpharad did not use Explosion in the fight, he exploded from an Outrage from Dragonair 🤣

Okay, with this you have now watched both Jaiden’s and Alpharad’s Nuzlocke Videos, now that just leaves Young Yong Tales’ and Toxiquid’s Nuzlockes and then you have officially watched all of the most notable Nuzlocke Videos on KZfaq, that i know of at least. Heck, while you’re at it, maybe you could also visit the channel Pokémon Challenges and check out the Pro Nuzlocker’s reaction to the Videos you’ve already watched, his videos could potentially be rather informative to you as a New Nuzlocker. Also, on top of all of this, have you played any of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games? If so, did you know that you could actually do something akin to a Nuzlocke in those games?

Gen one is actually really easy as long as you understand how everything works. Obviously the nuzlocke rules can make things trickier but it's still easily exploitable.

I would like to respect how Alpharad was essentially crushed by a singular Pokémon, only to return the favor and annihilate Luigi's entire team the second time. The run would have been done because of BRAYDEN who tried his very best to sabotage it. You have to respect the antagonist narrative he spun as well.

It's always a fun time seeing people try out their first Nuzlocke, especially someone like Alpharad. Very fun and cozy time watching along with the undefeated Nuzlocker herself :)

as your little blurb said Body Slam from Snorlax would have done it but also possibly Dig from Arcanine would have sufficed

They definitely should have led with Snorlax and get a Body Slam in to Paralyze. Dig might have worked with Arcanine but it’s more of a Special Attacker I think. The biggest mistake was that Alpharad went into notably the hardest Gen 1 Gym under-leveled and was probably banking on that Super Effective Bite with Arcanine.

@@CafeEla yeah, that would be fun. I have done 4 playthroughts of Shield and 1 in Sword. No Nuzlock there yet. But I might also do one now then I have finished my first Nuzlock in BDSP (Hehe, I lost in the Elite 4😅) But from experience I would suggest not to ban Dynamax as most do. Many lose mons and even runs bc of that. I hope you get Snom nom. Awww I love Frostmoth🥰 Good luck on that! Will be fun to se😄

You’re absolutely right on the type coverage front Ela cause to counter psychic you need ghost or dark and there’s only one ghost type line in gen 1 being Gastly/Haunter/Gengar and those themselves are weak to psychic as well, also the phy/special split for types did them absolutely dirty because ghost is physical and Gengar’s physical attack is trash, of course no dark type in gen 1 either and then you have Dragon of course, and again only one dragon type line in gen 1 haha, and even then it’s so hard to fit ice on your team if you want at least decent coverage, you could go Cloyster but Cloyster is so specially frail a flamethrower would just melt it and turn it into a slush puppy. Gen 1 was truly awful when it comes to balance

It's actually pretty easy to get ice moves on your team. All you need is a water or normal type, most of either of those can learn them via TM.

@@MultiAsh93 You don't really need stab or a high special. Ice is mostly for Lance and most of his pokemon are already weak, a few with quad weakness, or not fully evolved so their stats aren't that intimidating. Throw ice beam or blizzard from basically anything and they'll drop like flys.

Im pretty sure ice and ground are weak to each other so if onyx could take 2 ice punches (because it doesn't out speed jynx) it would kill if it was invested in attack speed and defense
