That describes pioneer best “these are not for you” we are not good enough to own these units...it is only for the elite. Denon on the other hand is like...we are listening to you, we have built something new and innovative, come join us!

My friends and I invested in a set of white 3000's from an XDJ RX1 and all I can say is DAMN. They aren't underwhelming at all and truly changed the game for me. Working hard and practicing on them now and the investment can be used towards multiple businesses.. all for it!

I believe that Oliver Heldens and Laidback Luke have proven that Denon is ready for festivals, Clubs, and large venues. So much so that Laidback Luke DJed on 1 Denon player during the rain.

I've incorporated these decks into my home studio, so ok there industry standard and the new flagship but so was the nexus2s, and they played a big part and still do of many a home studio..I'm loving all the new features and I believe these are just as much at home in a studio as in a club...

We like James. He’s a very unique DJ and Producer. Mechanical Jog Wheels Rule!!! One of the main reasons Pioneer is the Club and Event Standard. There’s a lot of room for additional features in the new CDJs. Another thing to consider is James really tests Pioneer Gear as you can watch his live sets. He beats them like they own him money, lol!!!!

What should the 'C' in CDJ stand for? How about 'Costly'

Sorry Phil but here 13:00 you were pretty wrong. They've been out for a year now and the only mentionworth update was Serato DJ support, that's it. Also Streaming requires a Wifi-card, dual layer needs separate outputs and in general Pioneer never brought major updates in the past. Now look at Denon (Engine DJ/OS 2.0) ⚠️

how can i load the same track on both cdjs via link and playing at the same time on cdj3000? in cdj2000 nxs2 i used to tag the track while playing and then load it from tag list and the 2ond track was playing from the same point as the master. Now i cant do it on 3000. Can anyone help?

I'm still waiting for pioneer's answer to the prime go, if there'll ever be one! I tried the go and it didn't work out of the box for me. 🙄🙄. I'll never deal with denon again. Second time I'm getting hit with faulty equipment. First was the MC4000.

I would use a pair of 3000s with a different mixer, even tho it means sacrificing the functionality like the integrated cue.. just personal preference about the sound

Great video - I just Figured out why when I try to mix the key sync must be making that song sound terrible because it’s trying to change the key way up or down and I was just trying to beat match them not key sync also . Omg I can’t believe I didn’t realize that much sooner -duh

Pioneer practically invented this category and they're "industry standard" for a reason. I cut my teeth on CDJ 800's and the fundamentals haven't changed much between the generations. Pioneer versus Denon? If that's your focus, you're asking the wrong question. Put your hands on both and decide. It all comes down to budget and workflow. Which tool suits you best? With that said, I'm happy to see both competition and innovation happening from both camps. I truly think Denon outdid themselves.

Can you use a ddj sp1 to trigger hotcues like on the nxs2?

can we cdj-3000 remap midi with the "midi-learn" feature, for example hot cue buttons do it like a some pad mode in rekordbox?

“Club DJ” works for the model name now. And these are meant for the clubs.

I'm not In a hurry to part with my nexus2s....as someone mentioned in a recent comment due to the epidemic most clubs will not be upgrading there set ups in a hurry...love my cdjnexus2s...but thank u for a good indenth review ...

I have to disagree with you about Pioneer always doing gradual changes. Not true. If you look at CDJ history, whenever Pioneer releases a new model, the form factor changes. It did so when they released 1000's. The Pre-1000's had a different form factor and different jog wheel. Than they did it again when they released the X1, which that's when we got a feel for what was about to come as the X1 started resembling the future 2000. And off course, they did it again when they released the 2000. The form factor changed completely. It would've made sense for the CDJ 3000 to be different, but it wasn't. IMO, it should've been the NX3, not the 3000.

C = Club/Concert. These are gonna be the decks that punters shouldn't be buying, only for venue or touring backline. I'm not a Pioneer guy, but from the outside I think the number releases they've had in the controller/deck market has been confusing. I know I'm naive, but I also couldn't understand why DJs would buy a Pioneer Nexus setup for their own personal use, and I never got their answer, largely being "it's the club standard". But wouldn't that be more about the firmware/OS rather than the hardware? I always felt that if you could get to know XDJ or XDJRX architecture, then that's more important than having to buy gear that has what's found in the club. EDIT: I just got to 15 mins into the video where Phil mentions that these players aren't for you or me :)

If there was ever a time to re-build the CDJ from the ground up, this was it. An incredibly wasted opportunity during a time when clubs and festivals are closed, giving ample time for power users to adapt to a new feature set and layout.

i think ill stick with the sz and the rzx for now, better pads options and position, better search, more mobile, and half the price down. they called it cdj and it's without a cd slot wait whaaaaaat . in the end its a ddj-rzx with a bigger screen and double the price. looool pioneer. Those XDJ3000’s make that DJM900 NXS2 mixer look dwarfed, they’re gigantic! Where’s Leonardo DiCaprio? Those things are the size of the Titanic! It makes it way easier for DJ’s to jump to the front of them and wave their hands in the air and shout, “I’m the King of the world!” as they sync! 😂🤣

24:28 This, for me, continues to be how Pioneer differentiates itself from Denon and the likes. You can have all the bells and whistles you like, but it will always (IMO) come down to track selection and Rekordbox, from a organisational standpoint is still miles ahead of Engine Prime. And the ability to make on the fly track selections on the unit based on a myriad of subtle factors is still the selling point of Pioneer for me. You see the crowd vibing off a track you're playing and want to find something similar, so jump into MyTags on the controller and find tracks with a similar vibe/mood (assuming you’ve put the work in of course :p) Perhaps I'm just oldskool and dated though.

Does record box detect and update the key in an mp3?

People are disappointed probably because of the name. If it was named sometime like CDJ2000NXS3 or XDJ2000 that would feel better like an evolution. But with that one they reach a new level in number and it sound like they should put more in it. Like something with the same screen and platter, but a presentation more looking like the XDJ XZ. Hope they'll put real update on it later, because for now the only argument is the screen, the platter and maybe the hot cue. But the chip they talk about doesn't seem like a really usefull implementation as there is still no real time analysis (like on Denon Prime serie, where you can arrive with just mp3 on a USB and use like you prepare yourself). It's for pro, for sure, but I see so many top DJ that doesn't analyse their track and just play with mp3 on a USB that they quickly load in the car on their way to the gig. Also the new look on the waveform kind of remind the new VDJ waveform with stems, with that chip inside maybe it could be added later, that would be a game changer. But the 32bit/96khz sound card sounds more like a commercial argument than a real utility (same as Denon did with their 1700 mixer some years ago) 32bit is useless when you're not recording, and very few shop sell music that goes up to 96khz, here again, it's only usefull in the production stage of a track.

So why aren't they called XDJs?

I’m my opinion the Pioneer CDJ-3000 is not worth the price the are changing for them. There’s another company offering a better player that does more for less money. I love Pioneer DJ products but I also like the competition, it makes them do better and we the DJs win.👍🏻

I always believe all CDJs were CD players I could have ordered a pair of them Thought that they were CD players without asking if they have CD drives. Believing that I would be a fool to ask such a stupid question

Why do CDJs in the twentieth year ?

Denon are for bedroom DJs, and Pioneer are for the professional settings. Pioneer engineers have this very clear in their minds.
