That theory's disproven. If you look at the hands of Spinosaurus, you can see that they're not bulky enough to support weight. They were most likely meant for slashing and gripping its aquatic prey and not for walking.

@@fossilpharaoh even if it tried to walk on all fours they would shatter like glass because of the body weight and it also seems most of the weight is in the back but spino boi is sure an interesting creature..

Well, I'd much rather have a figure that's either fully terrestrial or fully aquatic pose wise such as this spino; unlike Papo and Safari's 2019 offering, which are sort of in between. The Papo one is really nice, but it doesn't come anywhere near the accuracy of this new offering from PNSO.

@@TheSpinoDude any where near the accuracy may be a over statement. The tail isn’t even that off, the shrink wrapping is less severe as pretty much every other spino, but the best part is how big and bulky and robust it is. It really makes you think of say a whale or a hippo. After all Spinosaurus had super dense bones, and lived in water, so it’s okay to assume it was probably very large, larger than it’s usually said to be. The only saving grace of pnso’s is the more better tail

@@stegotyranno4206 Like I said, the Papo Spino is a great figure, but it does have a lot of issues. -the tail is substantially too short and is not bulky enough -tail shouldn't have fish like fins on top and underside -the back feet are more like those of a typical theropod; the dewclaw should become a weight bearing fourth toe -the hands are really big, although this isn't too big of a deal -the head shape is a bit off with the eyes placed slightly incorrectly -it didn't have crested eyebrow ridges like seen on the papo figure -the teeth are too long in some areas -and the sail might be a bit on the large side but it's not a big deal PNSO's is easily objectively the best Spinosaurus on the market at the moment- the knucklewalking and massive hand claws are the only two objective issues with the figure, and although the back legs and feet seem small, they are just following the latest accepted scientific consensus which is still being challenged of course. PNSO also does a great job of fleshing out their Spino with a nice muscular tail, neck, and midsection.

@@TheSpinoDude honestly, the only major issue of papo’s is the tail(which is too short and skinny). All other issues are minor or debated or speculative. The PNSO one is a great figure. It just seems too skinny. And I’m pretty sure the reason the papo one’s head is misshaped is because it’s based on a different specimen, or at least based on comparison of the head with various skulls I found on the web. The allosaurian eye crease aren’t a big deal, it could just be speculative(like how 2020 dilo has a super tall crest).

It's around 11-12 inches long when fully stretched out. Which makes this figure 1:50-1:55 scale. Still a little smaller than it should when compared to other 1:50 scale theropods.

@@spinoguy3555 the fossil with that new tail is a spino 17 years old and 11 meters long, it is not an adult, i do not know if this figure is based on that fossil or they just made an adult with the new data

@@jmc5979 I'm just talking in general because almost all dinosaur models are based from adults.

The style of the new Safari one fits its size very well, and I think it makes for a very charming figure for the overall size- so I am happy that the sculptor decided to make a smaller one. While the detail is truly impressive for the size of this new PNSO Spinosaurus, it is so well done that I think it would look great just as is at a substantially larger scale. The Safari one has very charming colors and details and a perfect size to go with it in my opinion. The PNSO one really nails a completely natural look for the animal; and it does disappoint me slightly that it is around the same size as Safari's offering.
