TBH, I actually really like Liko. I can actually relate to how she feels & I really like how far she's gone to protect Sprigatito and help it master its Leafedge. If she ends up being the more prominent protagonist of the series, I'd be all for it. Looking forward to episode 3.

This was really good start for pokemon anime. Giving the anime team production enough time, and changing the cast really did help out a lot. We saw this great potential in Pokemon Chronicles, Pokemon Evolution, and Pokemon Generations, but the old formula really did held back the original pokemon anime.

The fact that Liko broke the 4th wall in acknowledging that she's the heroine of her protagonist story. Already she's more personally relatable than Ash Ketchum, not that he was a bad character.

We're Gonna have a Real New Series

my ONLY problem with these episodes is that the academy being in Kanto is absolutely pointless. they could have just as easily set it at the Paldean academies.

There was a surprisingly large amount of collateral damage in these episodes.

I really like the start of the anime. I'm pretty sure the demographic for this anime would not be catered towards 10 year-olds like the previous gens, but more for the overall demographic since the bad guys are just the bad guys. No unnecessary butt of a joke episodes, just for the sake of it. Of course, I love the Team Rocket trio, but most of the time, the writers always delegate their roles too much as a comedic relief than actual character development plots.

In comparison to the 1st episode of any Pokemon series thus far. This one is the most intense one. Like, theres dread and conflict from the get go!

I feel like if sprigitito did fully evolve, then it would give way more character for meowscarada and i feel like it would be liked more as a charater and not just furry bait.

I hope that this new series is set in the same timeline as the original series, so we could possibly see Ash and co make cameo appearances

I think Pokemon crushed it with these 2 episodes. I love how it doesn't feel like the Pokemon we're used to, but like a normal anime set around Pokemon. The characters and their designs are all great so far, and I like their personalities. The details with how the Pokemon are used to fly the airship reminds me of some of the KZfaq specials. Overall, this felt more like a KZfaq special than the regular Pokemon TV anime.

I love how Friede is rocking my trainer outfit almost to an T 😂 but someone my friend noticed is that looks like this series is doing chapters starting with Liko and Roy so perhaps we’re getting character chapters to know about each of them. Indeed as you said if the series holds to what these first two episodes I’m hooked in 😆. (An weirdo in an Pokémon suit 😂😂😂 I like Nidothing he’s funny)

I'm still intrigued about that absolute monster of a Leafage. Like that one attack in EP2 seemed absurdly powerful compared to how strong it should have been. So I wonder if there's a story behind that or if it was just pure grit and determination. Also, I take Liko's savviness over Ash's borderline-immortal recklessness any day.

They Certainly Showed Sprigatitos protenial i mean if pikachu is anything at all Ashes pikachu it was great i actually Happy they made Captain Pikachu a badass like there is a trully Badass reason Hes called captain pikachu He Defends his ship

no offense we all grew up with Ash, but this new pokemon feels like The - Pokemon show, unlike The Ash Ketchum show. it really just feels different, with that Captpikachu hype moves on par with kid Naruto and that new opening trailer feels like the 1st season of one piece. well to me at least!

Honestly, I really enjoyed the premier. Watched it with some friends and we had a lot of fun the whole time, even for being in our late 20's and early 30's! Excited for more!

Im fairly certain too that the "Explorers" aren't even an evil team.... it's just that they're very forceful in the way they approach completing their objectives. These first two episodes already reminded me a LOT more of the more modern anime series we have than the classic Pokemon formula we had for 2 and a half decades

One funny thing is that I named my Sprigitito Liko when i first gotten violet (before it was announced Ash was retiring) and now we have our new main character being named Liko for a Scarlet and Violet anime.

They make a totally different anime. There is no need to compare Pokemon and Pokemon Horizons. Horizons isn't an a parallel anime. Liko isn't Ash's female clone too. She is an unique character. It's good for audience to like new series. I like _"Am I heroine of a story?"_ part. Story seems good. Liko thinks much but speaks less. I like her introvert character. Other characters seem colorful. Artstyle is OK but I don't like animation. They should add more music too.

As long as every mons(especially new) have their own episodes of debut or special characters..just like older series except journeys...

Even though it’d be cool to see Meowscarada in the anime, I hope Liko keeps Sprigatito as it is or goes into a even more rebellious phase in its mid evolution like Goh’s cinderace as a scorbunny! That’d be nice in my opinion! Btw I can’t wait for our boy Roy to come into the story with his energetic and childish personality!

The Pokémon Colosseum series is still the coolest thing I've ever seen that wasn't SV, PLA, B2W2, Platinum, HGSS, or Stadium. And, Liko choosing Sprigatito? I like her already. Plus, Captain Pikachu is turning out so much better than I even wanted him to be.

Favorite Spinoff is definitely Coliseum and XD Gale of Darkness

i shall say that lightning rod boosted volt tackle tactic was golden i want to see more of that battle planning in the future it reminds me so much of sasuke using fireballs in the sky to set up a thunderstorm for his lightning jutsu called kirin

Strangely enough, my favorite spin off is the Mystery Dungeon series. I say "strangely" because I have only played one of those games, which was Gates to Infinity. I watched Let's Plays of the others, so when I saw the same story beats in PLA, you can only imagine my excitement and awe of the writing. That's mostly why I like that series.

I am happy to see the series getting a great running start! 🥰👍 However I AM still quite worried how they’re going too make this series go one for at least as long as with Ash. Because we do not have a clear motivation for Liko, i can not really see what the future will bring. I’m sure that she’ll do fine and that her vague motivation can be a motivator to go on travels and to other regions. But~ she needs someone to actually focus her motivation. Maybe she could become the first anime canon character to catch all (or at least, all non-legendary) Pokémon (if you do not count Red as canon to the Anime)? 🤔 Or maybe she wants to learn about cultures & the myths of the regions? 🤔 Also: Is it just me, or does that blimp look as if it’s something for early last century? 🤔

Liko is an alright character but I think the first few episodes are a bit rushed, like we're introduced to Liko and Sprigatito and all of a sudden they're chased by the adventurers (don't really remember they're name.) I also think it was pretty useless introducing Anne this early on if they aren't going to give her screen time for a while

The real question is: how far in advance were this season’s episodes made?

Seeing Skies of Arcadia being mentioned in this video made my night. It's my favorite RPG game of all time. Wish they made a remake or sequel. Pokemon Horizons does have that feel of wonder and adventure. I am excited for this new take and hopefully the anime continues this trend.

Idk man, but I expected Capn Pikachu to have a deeper voice than Ash's Pikachu. When Capn Pika spoke, I thought, "Is this Ash's Pikachu?" But when it used Thunder Punch, "Nope! Definitely not. This fight will be interesting. Definitely not a beatdown." Because we all know that Ash's Pikachu can easily destroy that Ceruledge. I love the first 2 episode but there were times when the animations are just bad. It was extra bad when the villains were ramming the ship's barriers. I just pretend that I did not see that. Haha I realized that the new Pokémon anime had things good already understandable because the previous series has already established the Pokémon world itself. No more need for expansive world-building because that was did by Ash for 26 years, especially in his last years. Everything we will see from now on is just pure anime story. I believe the world-building Journeys did paid off. It's now easier to create multiple stories set in the same world like how things work in Star Wars now. I'm definitely looking forward to the future of Pokémon anime. Btw, Red Rescue Team is still the best spinoff. Haha

Really like the more mature tone it has so far. Like Liko mental maturity (for a kid). Trying to assess the situation best she can (though still limited by her being a kid), catching herself getting caught up in the swing of things and reminding herself that she got to try and stay aware of what's going on, aware that while her new group don't seem to be bad people she still can't trust them as they have still kidnapped her (obviously as far as they're concerned they rescued her but even if that's the intention they have still kidnapped her and she's aware of that). And simple things like when the creepy guy turned up with the letter she knew straight away this wasn't right and something is wrong, while I could imagine Ash being like "cool bruh here you go", but rather then immediately freaking out instead played along to secure the pendant and make some distance. But still had her freak out once behind closed doors cause she's still human and a kid. Or like when and Sprig weren't getting along with her rather then being like "what a dick head/if I show it my love it will love me or having a major event straight away that makes it respect her instead she took the time to let it do what it wanted and learn more about what it likes to do/it's language and it's clear from doing that during the time jump she was able to bond with it like that more organically. Plus in regards to the leafage for the people who view it as an ass pull from the writers it's clear it's not gonna be that strong all the time and clearly been influenced by the necklace activating earlier which we'll find out exactly how later on. Probably something along the lines of absorbing a load of power from it and releasing all that stored power in one go or something.

Using same gen 1 mons that the last protagonist also captured.. Giant L.. World was forcefed kanto mons for the last 20 years in the anime.. And the games.. A pre-release moment like ho-oh's isnt enough to save a series that relies on using the same animations.. Recycled over and over.. Waiting an entire tournament to only be given a stupid thunderbolt isnt rewarding.. Seeing other characters get stomped out by the galar chump was the dumbest decision in the entire entity on this animation.. Not even plot armor.. Wouldnt every mons level be reduced to 50 for balancing or so if its a tourna.. Forgot that logic isnt a thing when stupid ash was there..
