Dave Wattenberg is a class act. Years ago I sent in a TR3 for some warranty work and was emailing back and forth with what I thought was just some guy named Dave, nope it was the owner of the company helping me out with the knife I had sent in. Great company all around.

@@sufferedlearnedchanged timascus and damasteel doesnt equate to quality. they can make quality knives from say 20cv and aluminum handles that can actually be used instead of pumping out shiny art pieces

I just got my first Pro Tech TR3 last night. I'm very happy with it. I have some lower price autos that are nice and recently had to return one to get my money back because it was awful. I won't give the manufacturer. Now...the Pro Tech, so well-functioning, good-looking, and well-made. No play and all is centered, along with a nice bevel and grind. They make GOOD knives.

Already happened. Believe the only group to get them in person prior to the only drop, were Blade Show West attendees in October. They might have had some at CCKS recently but I'm not positive on that. Edit: Someone on Reddit who attended BSW, said Protech made 55 for the show, then BHQ had 50 that they sold at table at Blade Show West (which sold out in minutes). Currently, they haven't had a website drop of this variant.

@@arrowheadguys7637 you don’t know that to be true, that’s speculation. That sbr was available at some blade shows and he works for blade hq, so they probably let him get one before they sold out. I’ve seen list of blade hq videos from shot show and blade show in the past and very rarely did the interviewer have a knife from each company, this kid is an actual big time knife enthusiast, I wouldn’t say the same for past hosts of the KZfaq channel.

If protech is in California, how do they get away with having autos over 2 inches?

The only thing illegal in cali about autos are you can’t *carry* an auto over 2 inches in public. It’s legal to own any size auto in the privacy of your home. I believe it’s also legal to ground ship knives. Protech just manufactures knives in cali. They don’t sell knives. You can go to their website and see you can’t buy their knives there. That’s why they only use dealers which most are out of California where it is legal to buy and sell autos. There’s definitely a loophole crossing state lines that allow Californians to buy autos. As long as you keep those autos over 2inchs at home you’ll be fine.

yet again why are knife manufakturers makning a little ramp on the spine of the edge it have ruined the aesthetics of so many knifes where a continuous stright or bowed line from the butt to the tip would had killed the knife insted of making it a njeee next please knife.
