Tom Molnar designed both of those rods. He did K-1 before starting his own company.....

It's great you spend the time comparing and understanding the differences. You may use the K1 in NA if it was lighter.

My crankshaft had to have heavy metal added to balance it. I have same rods and my pistons weighed 372 grams without the .250 pins. They seemed pretty heavy also.
@andrewlavender086 жыл бұрын
y2k2gt just took mine back to be re balanced. Interested to see if I need the same

You should’ve compare the K-1 rod against the standard Molnar rod not the power Adder. The Molnar Rod is over 50 g heavier also. All depends on your needs
@boostedlsnotch2192 Жыл бұрын
Hay Andrew, are you still running these Molnar rods? Curious of how these turned out for you since this was 4 years ago. I just bought a set today, but of course in joe bidens America I'm on a waiting list because there on backorder.

Also goes by what type of steel they used and the heat treatment that they done the k-1 might be a little bit thinner a little bit lighter but actually as strong if not stronger than the other one
@markgoulette50562 жыл бұрын
You might want to talk to Tom Molnar on that.....the K1 rod is NOT stronger than that rod....
@onyxgt48562 жыл бұрын
Tom Molnar designed the original K1 rods and also offers a “standard” h-beam more similar in weight/web thickness to the K1 rods.

This video is five-years-old so how do you like the Molnar power adder rods did you test the k1 rods out? Because I'm thinking about buying them Molnar power outer rods for a stroker 408 Windsor with a 90 mm turbo and t-56 faceplated Magnum trans
