This is the reality of the workmanship that goes into a task of this caliber.
The shifter tunnel piece from a late model crown is welded into the hole in the tunnel today... Or close enough.

Just a note Benny, you can get white 'blockout' adhesive vinyl, used for blocking fluorescent light signage, shopfront window signage and for overlaying existing signage (such as an Aussie flag on a trailer) 👍 Gotta love a bit of hot metal glue gun action. About to crate up my EJ257T Cosworth block and Gen 4 BP '06 six speed (the tough as f*ck one) with driveline entire, including brakes, hubs, etc if you know anyone looking, made an easy 250kw @ all 4, an Uber driver rear-ended me just hard enough to kink the chassis rail and write her off. If I can't get what I'm looking for I'll just transplant it over into another BP Lib, nice package for someone serious tho. Currently still complete and running.

I see this kind of stuff all the time, not just on youtube. The trick is finding the guy who like the puzzles and fiddley sh** jobs. I just did a whole panel reskin on my pickup box... actually enjoyed it! Especially the part where it looks better than factory.

When the first rendering of this mod came to be, I thought "no way it's going to fit. Auto tunnel is never wide enough" Well.. Also, It's always quicker to just cut and fab, than cut, measure, fit, bash, fit, massage, cut, re-do, massage, cut and fab.

Know how you feel Benny, used to convert Saab 99s to rear acting handbrake by cutting the tunnel of a Saab 900 & welding it into the 99. Fun times, not!

“I think thats bashable” i like the way he thinks. No need to cut when it can be form fitted with a hammer……all that small shit thats never shown that takes the most time, like that tunnel, is the kind of things i like to see. Its a lot of that type stuff that ive seen people sell their cars because they had watched youtube videos and assume they know what all it takes to do a swap but then are constantly delayed any noticeable progress because of the dozens of little small things that pisses them off or puts them over the edge. I know a guy that sold his car because the driveshaft was an inch too long but moved the engine back 2”😂

Keep plugging away Benny, 2.5 years later I have my 323 with a 13b all together. 1st motor was a dud. Second motor is mint. Turn the key, it runs but no drive. Now to figure out if it's clutch or gearbox. Joys of a project

Yea, modding can take a stupid amount of time!!! Try nearly a year fixing up the poor wiring a previous owner did on wiring in a stereo or 6 months making custom arm rests whenever I have an hour to spare LOL Full time work sucks balls!!!! Engineer in Victoria is a hard no on flexi line for the underbody run.

For the trailer, couldn't you just run a blade around the outer edges, peel off the vinyl, and just leave the rest under the seam sealer?

I'm came here for the project work, none of it is tedious to me - staying for the banter \o/ Those stands, falling over - showing that things do infact happen in 3's. That is a sign that a 3rd tunnel episode is the way! Back pains are the worst, especially when the brain doesn't stop thinking about the project - so frustrating! Welding gas, waits until you are upside down in the car, contorted to all hell - then runs out.
