I cheat and add led strip lights in the inside border. Get color changing so you never have to repaint them another color.

Hi, I have been wanting to make those. I may try those coming up because I see people use them a lot. They have the LED strip inside along the edges. Thanks for the tip!

This is just what I needed . I used to make my numbers with 3/4 inch plywood with a 4 inch boarder in the from and 2.5 in the back and the 5ft ones are heavyyyyyyy . Thank you for this tho 😊 and can you build a 3 for 2023
@MakerDecor

Yes, glad I was able to help. Those Marquees get heavy, especially 3/4 inch plywood. I will make the three, but it may be too late for the new year. But it will be for the graduation season 2023, lol. Thanks for watching!

I bought the plans from you but now i see the lights and i wonder if the holes should be smaller than the ones on the plans for this light
@MakerDecor
@MakerDecor 3 ай бұрын
Hi, since I leave my plans open for any lights. Especially since people all over the world purchase them. I didn't want to go to small. Because once the hole is made, it is extremely difficult to make the hole bigger if you do not have much wood working experience. And I looked around and the standard hole size is 1 inch, so that is what I chose to benefit most of the lights. The thing that helps the most is to staple the lights in the back and it will keep the light socket in a firm position if stapled right. I hope that helps. But you can easily change the hole sizes just by measuring the socket you are going to use. Then buying a hole saw of that exact size. Then just cut them out with the hole saw. My size is just the standard recommendation. You can change the size, amount and position of where you drill the holes for your lights. Good luck!

Thank you very much. I purchased all the supplies from Amazon. I just put the links under the video in the description section. They do not have to be the exact same just as long as the specifications match each other, should work. Good luck

Love your channel and this new design is genius! Do you have a different way you'd do the stand on a 4 or a P since they are top heavy?
@MakerDecor
@MakerDecor Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, and yes those are difficult. But I have just made a small base for them with enough room to place some weight on the back. So, it would be like a small plate on the bottom of the 4 or 7 so it helps hold up, but will need the additional weight in the back to be safe.

How wide are the borders on your 3ft numbers? I can’t find it on your Etsy download.
@MakerDecor
@MakerDecor Жыл бұрын
I have changed different sizes just to see the looks of them. I usually recommend anywhere from 4 inch to 6 or 7 inches depending on if you are having it in the front and back or just the front. I only do the front now and mostly stick to 4 inch wide.

Did u cut all the angles with your circular saw? And how do u know at what degree
@MakerDecor
@MakerDecor Жыл бұрын
For the straight cuts I use the circular saw as its better for straight lines. The smaller curves its best to use a jigsaw. For the angles I create stencils and make them the size I want for the sign. Usually 3ft or 4ft, print it out, cut it and trace on to the plywood. I have the number stencils on my Etsy shop. The link is in the description below the video.
@efrainmendoza9162

Sweet I'll check it out. What about the 1x2 border how would u go about cutting that. Getting the angles to line up perfectly like if u were cutting baseboard or trim
@MakerDecor
@MakerDecor Жыл бұрын
@@efrainmendoza9162 Unfortunately the stencils do not include the exact angles. As it is meant to be used with a 1/4 inch thick border which miters aren't needed with that thin of a border. If you were using bigger boards then the best way to do it is to line up each cut and use a miter saw or circular saw to get the best cut.
