To the audio nitpickers with some things I misspoke: You’re correct and I misspoke. This system is *technically* not DANTE. It is AES based. The difference being AES runs single point to point with Ethernet, while Dante runs to a network with Ethernet. HOWEVER, this system can (and has) been converted to Dante systems for other gigs I used an X32 system. You need special gear to convert, but the concept is the same when you boil it down - you are sending and receiving audio signals via Ethernet. The fundamental concept is almost exactly the same. So yes, I admit the misspoken phrase, Dingbatz is AES based, but Dante systems also require Ethernet to communicate with the stage box and network, which is exactly what the system here does.

As you should. Not only will it improve your tone signal but it will make FOH guys happy that all they need to do is connect a cable to your DI and they don’t need to worry about your signal.

First i thought "ewwww behringer..." but i really started to love this console. You`ve got so much tech integrated that you mostly dont need a side chain. There so much you can do with it and makes it easier to hold Oversight over everything. 😁

Thanks for the video! Personally I'm not involved in live sound and I don't plan on it any time soon but I'm very curious; I've never touched a console but I'm pretty comfortable in Ableton and have a half-decent understanding of audio engineering. I would really love to see you go more in depth on everything you do, especially a more detailed breakdown of the adjustments you make during the set. It was nice to see you break down the layout of the console and talk a bit about how you have your sends set up. Your channel is my favorite live sound content on here. Cheers

Excellent video. Is “front of stage” also “up stage” and “back of stage” also “down stage”?
@BobStaff-ib3nl
@BobStaff-ib3nl 20 күн бұрын
front of the stage is down stage, back of the stage is up stage. Its easier to think of it as a slope. You wouldn't be able to see the back of the stage if the front of the stage was "up". the terms also came around because theater stages were literally sloped for the exact reason of the audience being able to see the whole stage.

It's not Dante, it is AES50. AES 50 just combines 48 signals per direction on one ethernet cable instead of a big analog snake
@chrishammillaudio
@chrishammillaudio 10 ай бұрын
The concept is exactly the same - using Ethernet to connect audio sources for a stage. You can take an AES system and make it Dante with some conversion gear. The concept of running signals via Ethernet remain the same.

Hey you mentioned guitar players using a Kemper would need a DI box. All of the venues I've played at just give me an XLR cable to plug into the main output on my Kemper. I always assumed it just connected to the FoH stage box, but are you saying it's actually going to a DI box first?
@chrishammillaudio
@chrishammillaudio 10 ай бұрын
No. What I am saying is if you go direct from any amp source, there is a chance you might need a DI box. Especially if the sound coming from your amp is not the cleanest of signals. I would invest in a DI box for yourself anyways. Most of the time any modern DI amps for guitars sound just fine on their own, but you never know.

Too many instances where my life was threatened, the “artists” and crowds were disrespectful to me and the venue and several goons in squads tried to bring guns into the venue, among other instances of not feeling safe working. Brawls and fights breaking out are far too common. Also, promoters not being able to organize anything properly and shows going several hours over schedule because “artists” can’t be bothered to show up on time.
