That's because all of the contestants were women. Chuck Barris, the producer, was worried about men becoming violent with Geoff after getting klunked

Why were the contestants on THE NEW TREASURE HUNT all women?

The creator of the show, Chuck Barris, felt because of the "teasing" nature of the show, a woman would take it better if led to think she was getting a car and got a baby buggy (for example). His fear was a man would get angry and punch Geoff Edwards, so therefore no male contestants.
