These are my new Titan Multi Trac turf tires getting tested in my muddy woods. You might be surprised how well they work in the mud, when doing dirt engagement work, plowing snow, and all round yard work. They have very large meaty lugs and are so large they don't sink.
If you have any questions or feedback, post them in the comments. I welcome input and criticism.

we had turf tires on the JD955 we used for repairing yards and clean up at the tree company I worked for. they did great. I did get stuck more than once but I doubt I would have been any less stuck with industrial tires. enjoyed the video.

daveknowshow Thanks Dave! I know the key to being successful with the turf tires is to manage the expectation. I know I’m not going to be able to crawl through 2 feet of mud, and that’s ok. I don’t even like being in my woods when it’s that muddy because it just means I have to spend more time fixing the paths when it dries out.

Turf's look like they do a great job to me. I would also like the fact of being easier on the yard. I would like to hear you tell us about the transmission on your tractor. I've seen some other owners talk about how wonderful the trans is compared to their old tractors. Perhaps a video on the transmission sometime? Have a great day!

I will definitely do that. People don’t realize how much better the Grand L transmission is. Not only is it very quiet compared to others, have two ranges in each gear is so handy. I have a low and hi in all 3 ranges.

You can get away with a lot if you have 4 wheel drive. I have turf tires on a BX2380 and I got the new R14s on a B2601 last week. I really like the R14s in the yard, on the road, and in the woods. I think Goodyear got it right with this tire. I went back to get a set for my zero turn but they don't make a 24x12-12 currently. It has turf tires that I absolutely hate and I only use 12 psi in them. It's possible to make a similar R14 design with a grinder from those turf tires, I hate em anyway.
@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 2 жыл бұрын
The R14s aren’t available for my tractor yet. We’ll have to see what kind of size they bring out as to whether they’ll work well or not. This tractor needs fairly wide tires to succeed. I’ve heard really mixed feelings with the R14s. Some love them, some hate them. Short life. Short bars. Poor traction in the snow. Etc. Since their bars are still pretty far apart I think their low impact in the yard is due to their short bar height. If they were tall like an R1 they’d clear the yard. They do seem to be a good compromise for some though. There are a lot of turfs that I don’t like and am not sure I’d would get with certain models of tractors. It would depend on the brand, style, and size. The turfs offered for the Grand L are monsters though. They have very big lugs and are very wide. I can go through mud that would get other tires stuck because I float across. I also love that I have very low impact when working in other peoples yards when seeding and such. Ive put the tractor in a lot of different predicaments and have yet to find a place where I don’t like the turfs.

As long as you stay away from steep inclines you be okay. I have seen tractors slide down a hill on wet grass and then turn over in water filled ditch at the bottom.
@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 3 жыл бұрын
I’m definitely safer on an incline compared to an R1 for several reasons. First, the tractor has a much wider width so it’s less likely to tip over. Second, you are much better off sliding than having a tire dig in and flip you. R1s will flip before a turf tire. Third, these hold a lot more fluid than an R1 so my center of gravity is much higher. Overall, you still always have to be safe on a tractor and know what you’re doing. I’ve been around tractors my whole life and my family farmed. We’ve known people lose legs from flipped tractors as well as their life.

Thank you for the video. The only tractor available that I want has turf tires on it and I’m not going to hold up the deal because of tires. Can you tell me which grapple you have and if it would work on the Yanmar YT235

That is the Everything Attachments Wicked 60” root rake grapple. It’s the best made. For your tractor I think you’d be fine with the 55”. It is a bit lighter and would save more of your lifting capacity.

Hey Jared, great Video!! Had a few questions. I’m ordering a 3560LE now and going with the R4 tires (not to late to change them). I have nice lawn (less then 1 acre) with sprinklers and don’t plan to cut the lawn with this tractor but I may drive Accross it on occasion, to get to a few areas of the woods next to the house if needed. Mostly I have trails, woods and a driveway I’d be working on. The back of property gets pretty muddy (muck swamp) in the spring but dries out by mid summer (plan not to drive in the back with the tractor in the spring if I can avoid it). Goal for trails would be to maintain them and use them to harvest and clean up trees as needed in the woods. I have about 300’ of driveway with a large parking area that I plan to add crushed limestone and maintain with the tractor. Also plan to snow push the parking area and driveway with the tractor, mid Michigan. My main concern with going with R4’s was overall performance. I wanted the R14’s but they don’t offer them in this size for the 3560 tractor yet. I’ve heard most people go with the R4 tires but after they use them they’re not impressed (look cool but lack performance). If I go with a turf tire do you think they would be adequate in the snow, good for the trails (less the mud), and tuff enough for the crushed limestone and heavy loads compared to the R4’s?
@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I really like R4s but the L3560 is heavy enough that it can cleat a yard if it’s wet. That’s why I traded mine for the Titan multi tracs. I have a very similar setup as you except for my woods is a separate lot down the road. I use my tractor there all of the time. Also, one of the main uses for my tractor is driveway repair. I also just did a large culvert and ditch job where I spread 100+ ton of #2 limestone.

@@JaredsShop Roger that. So if my lawn is high and dry (besides my watering schedule) I should in theory not have to worry about clearing or rutting the lawn as bad, correct? I may just stick with the R4s as my lawn is on higher ground than the rest of the property and usually dry (unless over watering occurs with sprinkler system). Thanks for the fast response!! Binge watching the rest of your videos now, great content!!

Thank you for your video. I'm in the process of ordering a 4060 LE and deciding on R4 or Titan Multitrac tires. I have 20 acres in Central Louisiana which consist of groomed yard/pasture and slightly sloped areas with fruit trees. Worried the R4's will rut the yard and damage the grass on the sloped areas. I will be using the tractor for box blade and medium-duty loader work. Do you have any problems with your front tires compressing when using your LA805? Any traction issues while pulling the box blade? Do you plan to load your rear tires with water? Thanks for any response.
@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 2 жыл бұрын
My rear tires are loaded with windshield washer fluid now as I’m in an area that freezes. The front tires compress a little bit but they don’t flatten out. Titan offers these in more plies. I think these are 4 ply but they’re also offered in 6 and 8. If these wear out I’ll probably put one of the others on there.
@JaredsShop

Also, zero traction issues when pulling the box blade or grader scraper. They have great traction in gravel and dirt.

Looks like its been a couple of years, are you still happy with your turf tires. I'm getting ready to order a Kioti CK4010 and am trying to decide which tires I want. Standard choices are Ag, turf, industrial and R14. I don't farm, I don't pull heavy implements. I have a long gravel drive to maintain and I do some work in the woods. It's to big to mow my yard but I need to cross the yard occasionally so I was considering turf tires. I do some loader and grapple work. Grader blade and rake. Any input for me? Thanks, Chuck

@JaredsShop 2 жыл бұрын
I still love them. If you have to work in a lot mud often I wouldn’t recommend them but they do work for occasional mud and are hard to beat in dry and snow. I have zero issues with traction in dirt or gravel.

@dem9725 4 жыл бұрын
Very nice. Those did better than I thought they would. Didn’t you have industrial tires on it before?
@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 4 жыл бұрын
D Em I did. I had R4s (industrial type), and although I really like those tires, and had them on my last tractor, this tractor is much heavier and left deep imprints in the yard this spring. The spring was very wet and I had a lot of work I was wanting to get done. I was afraid I’d regret getting these tires but I don’t. If you have lots of deep mud, they probably aren’t for you. If you have mostly dry to moist soil, do a lot of yard work, and don’t have 2 feet of mud, I think you’d like them. A lot of large ag tractors are moving to tires like this because it causes less compaction, which I saw in my woods. The tires almost want to float across. Compaction is bad for fields because it makes it harder on the crops. There’s less air into the soil, less rain sinks in, and it’s harder for the crops to grow. The same would go for your yard.

@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 3 жыл бұрын
@@thedtmann I have an L3560. Different models have different size and types of turf tires so it kind of depends what you have and what you plan on doing with them. Mine are Titan multi trac turfs and are big and wide. Smaller ones may not float as nice as mine but your tractor isn’t nearly as heavy. Also, make sure to set your expectations. I did not expect these to perform like an R1 ag tire in the mud but they still did better than I thought they would do. For grass and regular dirt engagement you should have plenty of traction.
