@@SerratedPVP 1000 hz is where ur monitor will be as responsive as ur kbm and mouse so id say thats that hard limit currently that being said all monitors above 480 hz dont have good enough response time to be better than their 360 hz competitors (personally as cool as 500 hz is with response time its not good that being said the new asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP has ulmb 2 so maybe. it and is 540 hz i think it suffers from the same issues just not bad as the monitor in this video 500 hz no ulmb and 360 ulmb are the same but since this asus one is ulmb2 i think it is better but its like within 5% better i wouldnt adopt any 500 hz display currently tho other than maybe the asus one ROG Swift Pro PG248QP because within the next 4 -5 ish years we might be getting 360 and 480hz oleds and they have 0.3 to 1 ms response time and honestly with that fact alone i think 480hz oled screen would be probably equal to a 720 ips with higher response time also 1440p 240hz oleds are easier to manufacture than 1080 500hz and id imagine that will hold true going forward atleast until we pass the 720hz mark for ips so like a 1440p 480 hz 0.3 ms monitor would probably be similar price to a 1080p 720hz 2ms monitor also i dont think its possible for ips to pass below 1 ms like oled so after 1000 hz ips 1 ms monitors oleds will be the only way forward for faster response time and i think 1000hz maybe like 1200hz is kinda the cap for how fast to make a monitor cause after that u actually wouldnt be able to notice any difference at all

You should try black frame insertion or pulse width modulation on OLED. It basically accomplishes the same thing as ULMB where it reduces the amount of time the image is displayed/held. With OLED's superior pixel response time, it should be even better than ULMB 2 on IPS.

Found out about ULMB 2 from your videos and decided to test it out as I have the PG27AQN, but the brightness hit seems a bit too big. I usually have my monitors at 80 brightness in the monitor settings, which in my non scientific testing, makes ULMB 2 equal to putting the monitor brightness to 40, basically cutting it in half. I don't know why the Nvidia site states 1440p at 360Hz is up to 275 nits on this monitor because the max brightness is 400 without HRD and 600 with, and it definitively seems like a big difference. I would assume the nits don't scale the same 0-100 but if they do, that would mean I am normally about 320 nits (80% of 400 max without HDR). Or in even more extreme case, 480 nits I guess (80% of max 600 nits). So turning on ULMB 2 cuts that brightness by 70+ nits and is in my opinion very noticeable unfortunately.

Yeah the problem I had to begin with was the brightness of oled. The white point of the brightness oled full screen is 250+ nits, if you were to half that down then it’s 125 nits and that’s not so bright at all.

Well, as an owner of the XL2566K and the PG27AQN, I thought that the Asus would never be as satisfying as my lovely 1080p with DyAc. I guess this update might just put my poor BenQ is obsolescense.

I really wish that you would focus on the response time like do a slow motion side peek and see which monitor shows the enemy first thats all i really care about as a competitive gamer, i could care less about quality or ghosting its sorta why i bought a 1080p monitor in the first place man i could obvisouly x4 my pixel count with a clear monitor but i chose the refresh rate
540Hz gaming is something else.
