Haven't played, I'm just inferring from the video, but do the torches give off a tone before lighting them, or is there a way to reset them once they are lit? How is anyone supposed to know the order without a guide or blind luck?

They play a tone after you lit them, eventually you’ll get them in the right sequence after some trial and error. As soon as you get the sequence wrong the flame will go out and you can try again if you get them in the right sequence the flame will turn blue.
