New Welder, Firewallin The Tunnel

Its been a wee bit since last video, busier than ever but nonetheless, i received some goodies and started the firewall and tunnel construction. The new everlast welder is absolutely amazing but the controls are so sensitive compared to my former welder and will need some time to get down packed, ive made a custom downpipe off camera and didn’t like it which forced me to put an “U” bend in the main chassis under the car which will allow me to have more room to make a 2.5 inch exhaust all the way to the rear of the car without dragging on the ground 👍🏻

Nice. Playing Everlast 'What it's like' while using your Everlast welder. And yes. Because I am funding my Mini build from my spare change, I also use the cut off wheels until they are too small to cut anything. Thanks for the video. Really enjoying the build.

Ahh for sure!! This was a no brainer as every time im in the shop. The welder is deployed at least once haha. That and the flap disk and cut off disk. 😁🙏🏻

Thanks Gafrers its been a month and im still head scratching time to time😅. No matter how many times i adjust the settings. I find this welder a tad bit more spattery when mig welding if that makes sense. Usually i can dial it out and its good. Best need a note pad and keep track everytime i find the sweet spot haha

Cutting aluminium with a grinder is easy if you get a block of paraffin wax to lubricate the disc. Minimises heat, and extends disc life too . . . .

Fuck yeah on the welder bro, that down pipe turned out great! Gotta build your own new welding cart, double tank, nice cable wraps, the whole shabam. Great work dude

Thanks Brownie. I realized I had more down pipe footage i misplaced and ill have to add it in in another vid. The funny thing is, i did end up just chucking the welder on the cart. Its super front heavy and will almost tip over if im not careful, the tank in the back levels the weight out, so well let this slide for now hahah

That's a whizz bang looking welder you have there. It look's like it'll serve you well. You know you've built the car right when you've got to cut notches in everything to get stuff to fit.... It's not the first time I've ran a disc down to the grinder hub especially when you're trying to cut that last inch or so.

Lmao when it came in the mail, i was like, i think they sent me the wrong one!!😅 looked so much smaller on the internet ahaha. And The notch will haunt me for a bit but ill get over it!! Well in the case, UNDER IT haha. And sometimes with the smaller disk, it helps in the hard to reach spots as wel

Lmao 😂. The thing is, the grinder is always within reach, i never let that thing outta site haha, while the utility sits quietly in the tool box somewheres

Very nice video! Backpurging isnt realy needed on downpipes. Its more for the manifolds that tend to last a little longer if you backpurge them. But you have a cast one which is way better then a welded manifold anyways. Looking forward to the next ! :D

Ahh thanks for that!! I feel so much better hahah 😂. Yea the cast one is totally fine and works as it should. Nice and compact too so no need to replace it and make new!!
