If New World had released initially, as a full game, with everything this expansion offers players, the game would be doing fantastic. It just released wayyy to early.

I feel the biggest turnoff for most people, 100% for me, was the gear progression after reaching max level. Watermark system was god awful and the current system whilst "better" is still awful. But i guess that's bound to happen when there isn't proper max level content integrated into the game.

"Stuff to to with guilds" 100% AGREED! They should make wars more accessible. Everyone seems to forget that wars are a massive part of New World's endgame yet nobody gets to do them. Custom wars that don't require territory.

The no swimming thing has always bothered me considering were a bunch of sailors and explorers. I always wanted them to add that to the game. They could in tandem with that add a new pvp mode that is ship vs ship battles. Even if the boats are stationary. Allow people to board the other teams ship. Maybe a 3 point domination type of ship battle. Or have set stages where you are stationary and you fight and then the boats move on a predetermined path and you try to cannon people on the other ship and swing across and shit. Would be amazing if they could do anything like that.

I paid $20 for New World during the fresh start event a year ago, and even though I haven't played in 9 months, I'll gladly pay $30 for the expansion just to promote its continued development. Unlike $110 D4, I actually got my money's worth and have hope for the future.

They need to put cross servers dungeons, for the game to keep up on living. Just like wow does

The game has come such a long way. It's 1000x better now. The PTR mounts and new zones were very well done. New armor and crafting system is EXCELLENT. The expansion is very good.

I've started from scratch again on a fresh start server, so far population is stable, i find people everywhere outside and inside cities. The reworked starter area and quests are solid mmorpg tier now (imo). Im having fun, but its true i almost took an 8month break from the game. If they keep it up with the updates and if this expansion delivers what is promised i think NW could have a bright future. It always comes to the developers if they bring solid content i think people wont have any problems comming back to NW, but that is a big IF . P.S. I dont mind in game purchase options.. i personally dont use them and i cant blame the team for implementing something that every single game uses these days.

I'm definitely excited for the expansion and mounts. The New World OST and sound design are incredible.

The bugs weren't the main reason i quit (that was the repetitiveness) but it was a significant one. One of the things i quite enjoyed at the start was the economy and chasing good gear. But after reports of so many duplication bugs it just felt like why should i bother.

Looks like I might get back into new world. When it came out I dud have a lot of fun with it I'll admit. Pvp was good but a bit janky. My problem was the lack of end game content. I'm so stuck on armored core right now though so we'll see.

My friends and I all jumped in this week after seeing this update and not playing since launch, forgot how fun this game was and they also improved a lot of stuff

They could do something like keep a zone's inventory separate in the UI until you fully explore the zone, then it gets added into the single pool with the storage for the other fully explored zones. It doesn't make sense from an in-game lore reason but would drive people to visit and fully explore all the zones. Or, if they want to continue to drive the world pvp, have all storage for the zones that your faction controls be linked, and the ones they don't not linked.

I wish they would allow region and server transfers to be free as a choice when logging in. Like how RuneScape works with their servers. It would allow a person to chose whether or not to play with more ppl or less ppl depending on the day or grind.

they need to ramp up the content for 2024 though like add multiple new zones, raids, PvP content etc. the base of the game is basically finished now with the expansion. but what they need to do now moving forward us shifting the focus from fixing shit to adding major new content from now on

Point of clarification, you can get additional gear sets by doing Season quests. Also, even with max gear sets, if you are a crafting junkie like me, you still need more gear sets ... 1 for every gathering, crafting, etc. skills. Also, quitting because your server is dead is stupid. You can transfer off your server and keep your character. AGS even gives you a couple free server transfers tokens, and you can buy more. So the "I stopped playing because my server was dead" line is BS. Also, with Transmog, you can get a free token every week from chest runs, not to mention from the Season quests. Getting them is pretty easy.

On transmog I found the best way is to keep (not salvage) the gear and equip it...run around and get a good feel for it. Then when you are 100% use the tokens...can do this with dye as well. Don't use the preview window!

Started playing 2 days ago, level 32 and I'm loving it so much. Playing while I'm watching this even.

Going up the mountain in First light into Windsward was such an amazing feeling, also the mountain in Monarch Bluffs / Everfall was amazing. But this game strayed so much into the usual MMO playstyle that I'm not really interested anymore.

Maybe if they added mounts in the first month the game came out, it would've kept its 100k+ concurrent players, the running across the map for a quest was getting super repetitive for me and my friends who actually had shit to do IRL, we didn't have time to waste running across the map

Migh not be unreasonable to ask for $30 for the expansion, but i'm sure as hell that people that bought the game initially and had a bad time with it will be REALLY reticent in spending any more money into the game.

I was waiting for an expansion and massive changes to jump in despite owning it for months and never playing. However my experience with MMOs says to wait for the pre-expansion launch update.

I remember playing the alpha and the beta of New World years ago. My friends were hyped by the release. I grinded it a ton upon release and got to 60 quickly. I never have been a hardcore player of New World, but it is really quite fun to just listen to some podcasts and kill mobs. Honestly, I really dislike the PVP experience, but the PVE is fun.

I honestly feel that I did significantly stronger from my gear score. 500 to 625 I am now able to survive in a fight longer. There are a lot of variables added too but I think 625 to 700 would be alright. Maybe it'll go to 725?

Preference plays a big part in choosing weapons...I love the greatsword, so when I don't use it I feel or even imagine that I am not doing as much damage as I could if I would have used the GS.

I know he said that he doesn't wanna play GW2, but he always likes the things in other games as they are in GW2.. maybe in 10 years he will play it if a miracle happens

okay ngl...one of my biggest issues was not having mounts. for whatever reason i just found it tedious to run everywhere. id legit consider replaying it with mounts.

The bugs were 100% the reason I quit playing. They broke my two main weapons, FS and IG for multiple weeks until I finally just quit. I just reinstalled and it feels good. Excited fore the new changes

i don't think it's hard to change the gamers minds. we do change our minds if significant changes are implemented, either by creative decissions or community feedback. the hate or lack of interest towards a game will only get worse if said changes are either badly implemented / bad createdive decissions or made in a predatory fashion, to grab more money.

The ward perks in my opinion was very good thing. But u need like some wardrobe in home where u can collect all of different sets to fight specific monsters. So u have a lot more sets to farm in end game.

the only player collision is if you are flaged they changed that a long time ago and for his attack this isn't wow you have to aim and be close to hit both

over 5k hours on one character, I was massively addicted, especially to M10s. I took a break with the launch of S2, but I'll be back.

i enjoyed new world at launch until i hit max lvl and had to farm gear. might have to come back and check it out.

i think the artifact need to get it the full set+ the mission to make it powerfull not just 1 weapon 1 armor and 1 Jewel its will be better if it full set instead of 1 each type

Played since day 1 and it’s def come really far. I encourage anyone who left to at least come back for expansion bc you’ll be coming back to a new game. Really good community and such a beautifully aesthetic game IMO. Just pick a good server.

Got to level 30 when the game launched. Wasn’t able to continue MSQ because of level restriction and I had NO IDEA how to grind xp. I’ll try returning to this game with the new expansion

They should of opened fresh servers in advance of the expansion like Wow Classic did with WOTLK. Even if these Fresh servers eventually die down and people transfer out. Im 100% sure it would bring a non-negligible ammount of players to the game, me included. (I like the idea of a fresh economy and everyone around the same lvl)

This game is far from dead. Last night I heard about the upcoming expansion so I decided to start again on a fresh start world. I played on EU-Central Nyx and There were so many new characters questing and leveling beside me. I even joined a group and we played well into the morning. Most fun I have had playing a mmo for a while. Never thought I would say this but If you're bored and need to scratch that mmo itch, Try one of the fresh start servers. Theres a ton of people atm.

Lets hope we get a fresh start for this expansion. Im not connected to any of my old characters anylonger,.

Definitely worth 40 bucks the game has some mid parts but overall is fun.

I have 1700 hours in the game and I had months where I just took breaks because of how boring and repetitive everything was . Really hope that this new expansion will bring light to this game because I really like it

I'm excited to play the new expansion. 1 thing I would like devs to change is the transmog token system. 1 token a week is not good enough. 5-10 tokens a week makes it a lot better and more enjoyable or just remove the token system completely.

$30 paid quality of life update. Welp they just pushed away all the people who were on the fence, aka over half the people who wanted to try it.

It is confirmed they are working on a new/upgraded combat system for NW. So I bet we will get that in 2024 roadmap. Hope it is not paid feature :P

My number one problem was tanks were way too tanky in pvp. DPS classes didnt feel satisfying at all because you could hit them 10 times and do nothing but if you got hit once or twice you died. I played musket rapier and the musket just felt miserable to use at max level, even against significantly less well geared tank players. It was a ranged glass cannon that was all glass and no cannon. Earlier on it was fine, but as everyone got to higher level perks it changed and felt awful because the DPS armor had literally no perks that actually increased dps while tank gear had multiple perks to be more tanky. I don't know if they ever fixed it but the period of time where it was like that was so awful I just didn't want to play anymore after a while.

I quit the game because I got 3 characters to level 60, 1 every time they did fresh start servers, maxed out the skills and the end game was never better. Hated the hours of running for the minimal amount of time it takes to do a quest, hated crafting and not being able to just grind gear score🤷‍♂️ Now that I can play the game as a grind and grind gear rather then mindlessly craft and have a mount to get around faster I will be back Oct 3! 👌

I think the problem with new world is the whole faction war mechanic. its just just not very well implemented and factions are never balanced.

Haven't played in like a year and kinda just want to start over. Should I level up to 60 and then buy the expansion or buy it first and then level up with the new stuff

Don’t get your hopes up. After 2500 hours I jumped 2 guild wars 2. Even after 2 weeks in that game I noticed what a bad mmo new world is. Just doesn’t reward your time and economy is broken beyond repair at this point. Big companies wil always ruin the game for other players even if you don’t do pvp. I know because I was part of the problem at 1 point. The amount of gold some players have breaks every part of trading and crafting. Getting into endgame pve is hard because of gear required. Gold lvls professions, get you crafting mods and everything else in this game. Not to mention the pure toxic place pvp is in for months… hard pass

And will it be paid dlc?

eh combat and movement are miles better since start. though they also improved on how fighting works. x.x they are more on the ball. and i think they chose to come out like they did since the development paths were a bit over the map and needed feedback. its player driven enough for me since they started to employ analytics

I must agree that season pass isn’t content, but the way AGS did it’s like a bunch of quests and the rewards, even on the free pass, is actually good. So ya it gave people something to do and everyone gets happy when finish it🎉

New World is my favorite mmorpg out there right now, the least expensive, the best combat, the best graphiques, the best sound !!! My friends and I all came back to the game and we are having such a great time we did not have such a good time in YEARS !!! We are loving it ! Lets gooo !!! :D

I mean my server at the time had green faction troll and use the lag out bug vs defending FCs to take over the map and hike prices in towns up, then keft the server when the one they wanted opened up

New World's entire legacy was built around allowing a handful of players to embody a power fantasy where they control 95% of everyone else. If I wanted to play a game like New World, I'd just live in the real world.

Transmog tokens you can get from free and paid battlepass. Also u get them form elite chest in open world and from expedition. U can get 1 token per character per week. Drop chance is 1%.

NO DO NOT FALL FOR IT! Stay away from anything that has AGS in it! You will pay $30 for a mount and a whole lot of new bugs and glitches 😂 there's glitches, desyncs, and bugs that will never go away

I loved New World and came back when Fresh Server came back. Maxed out character, maxed out a dungeon tank and love it so much. Then when i had to grind 4 - 5 sets of gear for ward dungeons, is when it lost me. When i had to grind shards and got left behind in the economy, is when it lost me. When PvP had no place for Tanks and it was just muskets, healers, and axes it just sucked. When skill updates after brimestone no longer required a tank and u could do t10's with all fighters and 1 healer, it lost me. When the open world PvP no longer existed, everything about the appeal of New World went away. When First Light is getting resold to me for $30, you lost me. US East has 1 fresh start like 1200-1500 max, why would i play? When I wait 30min+ to run dungeons, why would i play? Now I want to come back so bad b.c the updates for S3 looks incredible....but forcing me to pay $30 to play a dead game (a mmo for US East < 2000 players is fucking dead) and resell me content I already had, you are not doing your playerbase a favor. How about give it to us for free like Brimstone and let the playerbase grow again then charge us for expansions. S3 is actually fixing so many things that the community has been complaining about since Beta. It looks like New World can come back, but not for $30

The Hit Box on the swings are broken on Axe and Sword. Always have been.

Another huge, perhaps overlooked issue is MMO saturation. Back in the EQ/WOW days, they were pretty much the only options in town and allowed for more player investment. Now it’s just MMO bombardment and little opportunity to invest because the “next best thing” is right around the corner.

I could add people don't like to be late in a game. If they abandoned the game and they feel too far behind coming back they just wont.

8:50 It's incredibly easy to get boosters in Warframe, at any level. You can literally sell 4-5 corrupted mods (the earliest way to farm the in game currency), and you'll be able to get a booster. You can also get a booster for free from other players, and they stack with the booster you bought yourself. So you have a 2x one you bought, a 2x one you got from the player hub for free, and they combine to be a 4x booster.

New world combat sucks, 3 buttons with 15 seconds cooldown? Left click simulator? Nah, miss me. Even the jumping and dodging sucks, looks bad and feels bad. Animation lock? Nah, miss me. You can literally aim at the mob and left click and sometimes it will not register it, especially on uneven terrain. This is still hapening, buggy hitboxes. The dynamic-resolution being bugged for year+ is hilarious, and if you're playing New World on a second monitor, you need to set all settings to LOW and then manually set them to high if you want to have the ultra high graphics. You can google it, this bug still exists from release, has not been fixed, and every day people post about it on forums. Oh, and the UI menus feel extremely clunky and bad.

They still haven't touch all the important core systems, all they have done is rolled the game in glitter and micro-transactions. Let's not forget the territory system that dictates everyone's status in the game. Don't forget the gold distribution to these companies that hold these territories that raise and lower taxes and cost of crafting. You also have the the latency and desync issues they will never resolve by allowing non-regional connections with 300+ pings. And how can you forget the matchmaking system that determines whether you actually have fun in an Arena or OPR PVP match, which doesn't even separate the pre-made from the solos. I could mention the gatekeeping and RNG, but I think you get the point.

New World was such a weird experience for me. I felt like I played a singple player - linear game eventho players were running around me, and I started playing with friends, yet It felt like I did everything the game offered, dinged level 60 and quit.

I would love to see the flying mount in it
