Got a really bad rep at the beginning but it’s tons of fun, and devs are working hard to turn it around, to pretty good success. Def recommend it

Haha yeah man... I got my eye on a few pieces as I also want sundering javelin on my actual weapon. The life of a poor PVP player though... :( Piece by piece I will get there and slap even harder ;)

The spear setup is perfect for PVE as your main job with Spear will be rend and a bit of CC. With the bow I would probably run pen, rain and explosive (but leave the last perk off explosive for bigger aoe). That way you're essentially Rend + AOE dmg which is very useful for PVE

My Key Bindings are all default ( you can see the keys next to the skills / potions etc... in the vid). It's very similar to GW2 so was easy transition for me and didn't change anything. I don't think the key bindings would effect your swap - the game does have some clunky shit where I try to switch and it glitches or the skills show it's swapped but I'm still holding the old weapon (it's pretty rare though)

It's substantially better since launch. I remember it being very intensive and also getting pretty crappy frames. There was one particular patched a while back that did a lot on the optimisation. Overall feels a lot smoother.

Doooooo it! The build has a very high skill ceiling so with a lot of the meta chasers they are pretty bad and pretty much free kills ;)

Range and light is just over kill in this game. Add rapier just multiplies the imbalance and then add musket to be untouchable. If you are in Med or heavy you are just going to get constantly chipped away. Its not so much a skill factor more of a balance factor in this games pvp which the balance is probably one of the worst I ever seen. I would be more impressed if I saw one of these videos in med or heavy. Even in wars now we have musket players just because nothing counters them other then a musket. Its so unbalanced. So much running light even in our wars and I am the one that usually does the roster. Med still has a place and a few heavy but the balance of armor right now is so awful. Add in all the Bis perks makes light ridiculous. Say you trade blows with the same gear. Light v med v heavy. The damage difference is barely equal to one crappy weapon perk. Either Med and heavy need to take less damage or Light needs to take more.

@@bobshanery5152 balancing takes time. i wish they took more drastic measures with balancing in their test servers though considering that is literally what theyre for. Heavy Armor used to be king in the game's early launch cycle so at least the balancing of the game hasnt been stale i think a good start would be just toning down the damage and perhaps even healing buffs that medium and light armor get and perhaps trade those buffs for different ones. the only thing a guy should get for running cloth or leather armor over plate/mail armor is speed and maneuverability.

Haha thanks bro - yeah the bow gets a fair bit of hate but paired with a spear makes it very aggressive / close range viable.

It's a tough one... if you are looking to stat pad and get up on the scoreboard then poison will win hands down. If you're looking to kill players and be solo engagements not just running with the zerg then explosive gives more burst. I haven't tried rapid a lot but my mate slaps with it so definitely viable.

Yeah there is a big difference between 500 and 625. Since the game has been out for quite sometime most people in PVP will be 625. Keep grinding!

@@Blackhoods Thank you!! I've been looking for this. The change to expertise is probably the best quality of life they've made to PvP. It'll introducing new level 60 players in to OPR and Arena and givng them a fighting chance. If you joined mainly for pvp there's nothing worse than leveling in PVE to get the gear you need to be effective or being beaten all the time and fighting against the odds

Unfortunately there is quite a big difference between 540 and 625 gear score - keep grinding bro and you'll get those bigger numbers whilst having better defence.

@@Blackhoods my expertise is 540 but all my gear is 600, so my effective gs is 570. can't say i noticed any difference going from 550 to 570, but i'll keep going at it and see for myself...

Thanks! No trick at all and can do this with any weapon / most skills. It's just light attack into weapon skill. At 2:50 I do light attack quickly followed by pen shot - you can do the same with light into poison shot or on any weapon with most skills. Practice the timing and you can get this pretty quickly.

Don’t play with the clump and you’ll find pvp like that

Ain't that the truth! Use to only be handful of us on the entire server playing bow in pvp. 95% of the bow players since patch though are very mediocre so it's basically free kills though :p

Godspeed bro... I'm a pvp player and that grind was not fun lol... from memory it was like 200+ hrs to get level 60 with a decent build. Just remember you don't need BIS items... it makes a marginal difference. There is like 2 mandatory perks you'll want on each piece and the third is a luxury. My build is missing a lot of BIS items and as you can see it still slaps ;) goodluck

Yeah it's perfect for PVE albeit I'd change some bow skills for more aoe dmg (rain of arrows).

Space bar? Once you play for a long time 90% of players (especially certain build types) play the same way so you get to understand their basic combos and timing for dodges. Most melee skill attacks from ga/wh/ss/hatchet are well telegraphed so you get time to dodge. Just need to actively watch it for ages and then after a while it becomes habit.

Yeah I watch that footage back and scratched my head... if you look he has bow equipped when I hit him with jav so I guess there must be a big where if you switch to rapier and hit riposte it cancels the Cc... not sure as I don't run rapier. Either way it would be a bug that I hope gets fixed.
