Heya everyone!
If you ask me which is better? I couldn't decide, but the purpose of this video is to look at BOTH from the stand point of neutrality. More venomous doesn't necessarily mean a worse pet IF you're just smart about it, and don't be an idiot!

I totally agree, I live with over 100 new world Tarantula species & I'm still not ready to live with old world's, like you said it's not the venom it's the speed that puts me off, I've also got to admit that I found your channel and the way you say things just makes me laugh especially your comments about the hair flicking of the new worlds as it's so true 🤣🤣 I'm so glad that I found your channel 😊

Thank you so much! 😭 also! M.balfouri or OBT is my personal recommendation for an old world but get them as slings. They are SO CUTE and very much less spicy as babies. O.B.T is super easy to take care of and honestly doesnt bolt typically which is actually BETTER. Think Psalmopoeus irminia but threat poses more :)

@@juicesarthropods I often look at old world's but something inside me just goes 'nope' but who knows one day I might take the plunge but until that day I'll stick to my new world species and get confident with them, & to think that since childhood I was terrified of spiders let alone tarantulas, I lacked the education & then I noticed the B. Hamorii & my whole world changed & I educated myself now I'm an addict to them & anything new world and I couldn't be happier, they now give me a reason to smile, yep I totally love tarantulas ☺️🕷️🕸️

Old world: 5:55 "Ultimately: Just not handle the big bitey teleporter..." New world: 12:28 "And when you hold'em, they're eventually gonna kick hairs at you..." Words of wisdom! Taratula are observational pets anyway in my opinion. Because handling them puts THEM at risk first and foremost while they gain nothing from it. Better just love them from short distance...

100% agree. Like I respect those who KNOW the risks and don't advocate holding them but are willing to TAKE said risk. Its just not smart to talk sh** about people who DON'T want to take that risk. Also omg you just reminded me I didnt tag the time stamps haha

Thank you for the info, very well executed and informative I have no idea how you only have 1000 subscribers. You have one more now ! I just started my channel and need all the info I can get I am somewhat experienced and have officially decided to sell my new worlds except for a special few and I will stick to stick to old worlds. I have issues with my parahybanas kicking hairs 24-7.

Thank you for subscribing and good luck on your channel! Yeah I primarily started carrying either old worlds who were LESS likely to kick hairs as pets, or new worlds without urticating hairs. Honestly 99% of the problem hair kickers are the mexican species like the B.hamorii 🤣

@@juicesarthropods Haha I will take caution with Hamorii I have sling Brachy Vagans & Smithi never kicked hairs probably will next molt lol. The Parahybana's are nightmare kickers even if I just move their enclosure. Least problematic are the old worlds my P metallica and H Maculata just run away I have no fear of the damn hairs flying . I just respect the old worlds and that's good enough NO MORE NEW WORLDS. Thanks for the luck take care brother !

Grammostola rosea are not cheap, $65-$100 in my area. I know they look inexpensive compared to some tarantulas valued at $250-$500.

I KNEW at least one person was going to call me out on this so kudos to being that one 🤣 I meant comparatively to see a p.metallica but oh tarantulas in general especially if captive bred can be QUITE expensive, I agree.

@@juicesarthropods the Grammostola rosea is hard to find in my area, Maine and New Hampshire. Maine is tough enough with only a few we can possess in this state. Grammostola pulchra - Brazilian Black Tarantula Grammostola pulchripes - Chaco Golden Knee Tarantula Grammostola rosea - Chilean Rose Tarantula We can’t even own a jumping spider which is ridiculous. Thanks for the reply and I am enjoying your episodes
