Trailmater Offroad Recovery

Trailmater Offroad Recovery

2 жыл бұрын

Couple recoveries showing what the new truck is for and built to do. One camper van stuck in the sand. Another was a work truck way up on the mountain with a bad transmission. Thank you for watching and supporting us.
www.trailmater.com is up and running and, still working on the merch, very soon, thank you for your patience.

I don't pretend to know so much about US motors, but it strikes me that there is no shortage of airflow around that new wrecker power unit, especially from below and the sides, plus that impressive acreage of chromed grille. At least at the speeds this wrecker is going to be working at, how much extra cooling air is such a scoop going to supply?. A big ornamental hood scoop would look cool, though I'm not sure of how much a motivating factor that is with this new wrecker build. Nothing could or is going to compare with TrailMater for glacial cool.
@jeeper426
@jeeper426 2 жыл бұрын
@@gordonmurray3153 a cowl hood extends back over the cowl at low speed as hot air rises it can escape easily, rory operates in moab which is mostly desert with some forested areas, hot air rises no matter where in the world you are, at higher speeds highway for instance the base of the windshield is a high pressure area and forces cool outside air in over the air cleaner, I know as rory has said he doesn't do on road towing, so for the low speed aspect it would be both cool looking and functional to operation especially with extended idling and crawling at low speeds on the trail

@@jeeper426 I watch a lot of rock crawling and wheeling videos by Rory's friends from around Utah's desert trails. I live in Scotland, where it is very lush and green, because here it's usually much less hot, and it rains cold rain quite often. We keep our engine compartment pretty well enclosed, to prevent rain and road spray from interfering with the electrics. One thing that often occurs to me is how many rock crawlers I see on KZfaq videos, that don't have bodywork eg around the engine bay to speak of, like TrailMater, but do have a hood, engine bonnet, over their engine bay. Maybe you keep engines cooler, by just keeping the desert sun's rays off of them? 😉

Air scoops on the hood are high school drive in stuff. Raised things on a hood give you less vision and more blind spots. I had a friend with a ‘66 427 Vette with a huge blower sticking through the hood. He was blind on right side and had to have someone riding shotgun to drive it safely:)

Rory is "Da Man" for both impossible off-road recoveries and for on-scene repairs... a true genius! But while the new wrecker may be necessary for the business, the Trail Mater videos are the ones I come for. Impossible recoveries beat simple recoveries every time! 👍

I enjoyed the scenery in this one, but I love the wild off road recoveries. I started out watching Matt, but now I am here, Fab Rats, Mischief Maker, Recovery Team, Merlin's, Robby Layton, Bikes and Beards, and a few more tied in there. These videos have convinced me that I need to visit Utah, and probably in the Autumn. I moved out of California, partly to get away from the heat.

@dalegereaux .. I can do every thing that Rory can do... but it would take a month of Sundays. It is a pleasure to watch him problem solve so quickly. We had a shop at our disposal when we were young, never told no. we got very good at welding and cutting and fabricating. When I was a young man I was told that I could find a cleaner job. I did. Filthy is not bad though. i wish I had stuck with it. Electricians don't have as much fun.

There is nothing like the pure beauty of the growl of big block V8 power. If that don't make you smile you better check your pulse. This aint the scream of pain you get from some undersized, turbo'd, over strained thing bouncing off the rev limiter, sounding like it's about to blow any moment. This is an athlete grinning 'I can do this ALL DAY!' And will. I love it. To scoop or not to scoop, that is the cereal... hmm, must be time for lunch, Rasin bran or Fruit loops, we are good with what you want, though I'd advise against Capt'n CRUNCH!
