Fall would be good, I did enjoy Japan in January with the colder temperatures. Very fresh feeling. But when ever the country opens, I’m coming for you.

I think the choice with the amazake was either sakekasu (酒粕) sake lees or komekōji (米麹) malted/molded rice. I'm not super familiar with this stuff, but I do know that these ingredients are thought to be healthy addition. Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone, been watching Only in Japan for about 3 years now. In NYC about 11 hours away from New Years. Celebrations are more subdued here of course because of the Omicron variant, will enjoy New Years at home with family .

I live in MD.and we had no fireworks for the second year in a row. To go somewhere else I needed to get a test..a friend tested positive so l knew that the best thing to do was to stay home. It was depressing.

Hi John! Happy NY! I was in Asakusa for NYE 2015>2016. So many people lining up for Hatsumode at Sensoji Temple. Had in previous years left Japan around 30/12 to come back to Australia so it was my first NYE in Japan and was an amazing experience.
