I went up there to meet Tony Bonjovi, of which I had done. He came to see me at age 19, to sing w/ my rock and,, High Risk at the Village night club in Lancaster,Pa, we were awesome, my band. He handed me his business card and mentioned maybe he can help me. Being a lady and a young business woman breaking into the music biz at age 19, I grabbed the chance. He met me at the door to let me in and went up the stairs, took me on a tour of the studio and I met," The Babys" now, down to business, he said to me ,l can help you but you have to do something for me. I read between the lines. Sir. I am a lady. I will find my own way...I left, walking tall and proud. No way baby! I am a good roman catholic woman with a music ministry, refuse to sleep my way to the top. I recorded my 4 originals at sigma sound in Philadelphia in 1984. They are freaking great! Powerful mysterious, my hidden mystery tapes. Still have them on cassette looking to re record them with the right good people. Bunny Sigler and Joe Tesia were there. Rip dear souls. Bonjovi blew it.

Oh, btw, this was around 1979. I met Clem Burke from Blondie years later at CBGB's, great cool guy. Fantastic drummer . We talked shop and he bought me a drink. I am all business. I later was o in NYC to follow my dream met loafs of cool people. Unfortunately I was mugged and left for dead 7 hours near the Garden was told am a miracle I am alive. Never caught the 2 men. I was told I would had been tagged as a Jane Doe. God has great plans for me. I met BB King, shook his hand, Mary Wilson of the Supremes my very dear friend since 1996 up until her untimely passing Feb.8, 2021. Played at the Easter egg roll Washington White House in 1989. Went on the road touring for a year, met many many celebs. Very blessed. Whiney Houston walked right by me one night coming out of the front revolving doors of fao Schwartz toy store. Perfect timing. They actually closed the store down for her to shop and people waited outside to get inside a celebrity was shopping. Met Otis Williams lead singer for the Temps, opened up for, The Trammps,Great White, Foghat, In the limo with Duke Faki, and 2 other Four Tops, wore Tina Turner's black leather jacket after the Rio tour, my old sound man Pete Pelland toured with, , clair brother's. His older brother, Gene Pelland ran sound for Elvis. Madonna went her way, I went mine. Sad for what Tony did to me, not a trusting business man in my book.

I worked in that building from around 2009/10 to about 2020 I think? It was Avatar Studios, and then later Power Station/Berklee for the last year and a half. I was working in a mastering studio that rented space there. It was amazing coming into that building every day. You never knew who you'd run into in the hallways! We were located on the 3rd floor along with studios C, G and E. We had to vacate when Berklee shut it down to do the massive remodeling. I loved it there and I miss the vibe! And the Berklee people are great and did a wonderful job reviving and updating the space. Kudos!

Greetings Warren , Thank you so much for the in depth tour Ian led us all on. As a pro engineer in Philly during those iconic years with many of those same artists (David Bowie , Aretha Franklin Chicago , The Temptations …and the list goes on …. and on and of course Niles was everywhere) and producers like Tony Bongiovi were over here at the now closed historic Sigma Sound building on Arch St. I realize how incredibly lucky I was to cut my teeth on racks of tube based outboard compressors, Pultec EQ’s , original H series harmonizers and our own Neve 8088 that was eventually purchased by The Rolling Stones for use in a custom built mobile recording truck. The younger people on your channel will never experience the multiple tape neckties of an editing session done with a grease pencil , a splicing block ,and splice tape. We literally cut , copied and pasted not only 1/2 track master reels for final record mastering but 24 track edits on rhythm tracks. My memories are rich with music and being of service to an amazing art form. Thank you so very much for arranging this amazing tour of a still vibrant historic studio. Stay Well !

I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time at Power Station starting in the early 80s, where I've recorded and mixed numerous jingles, film scores and even engineered a couple of records produced by Tony Bongiovi and Meco Monardo. Power Station has always been a spectacular place to record - an incredible staff; even one of Tony's relatives swept up after my early sessions. 😉 I worked mostly in A and C. I am really happy to see it doing so well and I hope to be able to visit again soon!

My first mobile began business in 1977 and I recall the overwhelming impact Power Station had on the business at the time. Power Station led the way in every press release, I always hoped there was a paragraph left over for us. How great to see the amazing craftsmanship up close. The woodwork style is classic late 70s. Cost-no-object recording studios are always a thrill to tour. I would be very surprised if this comes anywhere close to break-even today, which is kind of a shame. In its heydey, it was literally a social scene. The maintenance cost in those days must have been astounding.
