In this video, I take a ride on the Newcastle Light Rail from Newcastle Beach to Newcastle Interchange. I film the whole journey from the back of the tram, so you'll get a wonderful view!
You'll also get an informative commentary, so you can learn more about the Newcastle Light Rail system whilst sitting back, relaxing and enjoying your virtual tram ride!
On this journey, my Newcastle Light Rail tram passes the old Newcastle Station building, the old Newcastle Signal Box, as it runs along Scott Street and Hunter Street.
After Civic Station, it turns off Hunter Street and runs on segregated tracks to Newcastle Interchange Station.
Besides the cab view, you'll see some footage of the Newcastle Light Rail maintenance facility which is on the site of the old Wickham Station. This is where these CAF Urbos 100 trams are maintained.
I'll also explain how the Newcastle Light Rail vehicles operate without any electrical wires between stations.
