Great thing about the handgrips is you can think of scales as two handgrips which gives you a visual clue but also as you need to transpose them it helps you think in intervals and navigate those changing keys which are difficult on piano

I’m a guitarist, not yet able to play jazz, though I like learning about music from you more than anyone up to now, and find the layout of the keyboard helps my understanding of the intervals. Thank You for such a patient and concise approach to teaching. Also your music has real beauty to it.

Best and warm regards to you too! Thank you for a great lessons on handgrips! They gave me a huge level up in my impro not only on piano (a keyboard is no longer a mystery to me)- as it raised my overall understanding of harmony, and how is everything connected in music. I am 31 y.o. self-taught, and your lessons (with free online berklee jazz school) gave me an ability of which I always dreamed of - to sit at piano and improvise for as long as I want without repeating chords too much and easily finding the right scales to play over. Thank you!

This is so great! You use the concept of "hand grip" in many of your videos. I am not sure if other teachers do that, but it is a very helpful concept. Besides showing an easy way to solo, by practicing the hand grip, this video also does a great job of easing into music theory. Your videos are by far the best for jazz piano!
