Yeah, the Goblin-hewer in particular is a wishlist favourite among Total War fans but it was a fairly obscure model that never appeared on the tabletop outside of Storm of Chaos and even in the Gotrek & Felix books Malakai was more famous for his airship, so GW are *definitely* looking at what people seem to want for Thrones of Decay and are trying to synchronise that with model releases. That's certainly no bad thing.

@@jamesnave1249 Some people feel they don't fit the Dwarfs as a faction (powerful monstrous infantry or giant-like SEMs in a faction that's mostly about ranged damage and durable melee infantry), not to mention lore indicates that they've lost the ability to make them and I don't believe they ever had any real presence in the tabletop game. I'm fairly ambivalent about them personally, but I can see where other would oppose their inclusion if they took resources and unit slots (each faction gets five units in each three-faction DLC) away from more prominent stuff, or units that did exist on the tabletop. Heck, the only place the smaller, more mechanical versions the Rune Guardians have featured in was the Role-Playing Game. As it is, there are a number of mods that add them so if they're your thing, I highly advise looking at the Workshop.

It was seeing Grombrindal on the cover of issue 200 of White Dwarf back in the 90s that first brought me into Warhammer. Heck, into the whole fantasy genre in general! I can't wait to get my hands on these when released!

Great video! Btw Bugman's Cart was released in December of 1987 in White Dwarf 96, so it's even older. Similar thing for the Dragon Company...

I picked up the aos dwarf start collecting and the regiment of renown box. Might have to get this battalion and a couple cannons and thats an alright army. As long as the warden king is still valid as it's belegors old model.

Its really nice to see Ungrim getting a fresh mini. That is one of the biggest gripe with ToW is characters not getting a cool new mini. Settra's old mini (and all the tomb king skeles) just look so dated and cheesy. Settra really needed a new model.

Well new Ungrim looks very cool, doomsekers too, but still I am not sold for goblin hewer (but i prefer to be it in old world rather than in total war too) :P Little sad that there is so gorgeus Lord with handgun (it looks so cool!), but the thunderers does not have similar weapons...

i am gonna be probablty geting the new ungrim i think the best part of this is that we didn't have it be hushed up for 4th ed AoS, they could have elected to not even mention this until the skaven stuff was done but they did instead throw it in like its going on its pararell track and well its feels better than the silence we otherwise would get.

Its very... sweet and sour for me. Ungrim is amazing. Slayer army is amazing thrope id do in heartbeat. But without pink glasses, the slayers just look ass, and its arguably worse then skeleton for TKs which fine your forced, but you can make duel with just 1 minimal size squad. Here for slayer army.. ugh. Potatoenoses.

It’s awesome that people r excited for the old world, but idk the more I see of this the more I’m just disappointed. I was really looking forward to the revival of this game, however it just looks like GW showing off how greedy and lazy they r by not updating any of the old models. I know they never do, but to price them so high for a model that is way older then me as a new thing is just beyond shitty. If GW would have updated everything it would over take AOS in players also pissed me off when they said we might not bring Cathay, Kislev or chaos dwarfs like that’s the main reason people got excited for this.

If you don’t wash properly then maybe, also might have to be gentle with any fiddly bits, but other than that I prefer the surface of resin for painting

to me games workshop totally lost its touch on dwarfs during the last edition of warhammer (release of the gyrocopter/bomber set etc). all the new releases totally fit in there. my 1st gw miniatures at all (bought in 1997) were metal dwarf hammerers. this was dwarf design. nowadays scibor makes the best dwarfs of all.

For me every Old World reveal is always kind of meh... To much okd stuff, to little new stuff. But i admit, all 4 new models look AMAZING. And i agree handgun thane i absoluteley the best! I will buy some OW for sure for my Slayers and Cities of sigmar in AOS, can not wait to FINALLY get some propper dwarven artilery! Still, i hate that GW have not not said anything about what will happen in the fitire to Cities of Sigmar Diardin. I would literarly cry if we lose them because of the stupid policy of no crossover between AOS and OW. KHAZUKAN KHAZAKIT-HA!

Really disappointed about the Battalion Box, though it is better than the Orc's one. But...Those 6th edition Dwarfs look derpy next to the 8th edition Dwarfs.

You buy it for the gyro's, these box sets are usually discounted. Lets face it though, the warriors were redone in 6th edition, the dwarfs have older units that have been as old as 4th. I'm looking at you slayers. If what we're seeing isn't the biggest hint that an army list revolving around Kadrin is impending, I certainly hope they have remodeled the slayers because buying those metals enmasse is not going to be very economical.

Probably because I didnt own any fantasy army at the time, but i'm not fan of the old world releases for now since there is way too much old stuff in itfor me. Models that are around 8th edition look good, but the older ones clash a lot I think :(

I know The Old World is designed to fail and a dead game already. That battalion box with what, 2006 core dwarf warriors which just look bad these days. Shame they didn't replace them with a new plastic kit: new people aren't gonna be interested in this stuff. But damn the new plastic and resin models are pretty amazing. The plastic shieldbearer kit is great. The models are brilliant. Proper dwarf proportions look great and match the newer 7th/8th ed dwarves (which had legs). Shame we're not even getting plastic Slayers - lucky Avatars of War produce some incredible hard-plastic Slayers.

Meh. Warriors,rangers, quarellers, thunderers look the same. They can be march blocked now? Missile troops lost weapon skill? Slayers look weaker than Savage Orcs even. Anvil overpriced. Weaker cannons then Empire. Dwarfs dont look strong this edition

this game is a desparate ploy to push old models. and dfq w the square bases? awful. couldve shouldve designed all new models n used bases that let players go from sigmar to old world getting max miles out of their money traps, i mean armies. pretty much done w gw anyway. sigmars cosmology makes no sense n its apparent theyre flying the plane as they build it. shouldve just left fantasy as is n updated the models like they did for sig. a lot of us are just feeling saturated w product n constant rules changes n then they bring back a thing but its like this? nah, keep it.
