When I found out my son died, I was inconsolable. I sobbed for hours, could not form full sentences and curled up in a fetal position and when I woke up tears were streaming down my face like I had been crying in my sleep. This guy is full of BS.

For all an innocent person would know, if a murderer came and killed their wife and son, they would think their other son might be in danger. Reasonably, the first thing an innocent person would do is frantically call their other son to see if he was okay, call the local police and tell them to go do a wellness check. Instead, Buster was not the first thing on Alex’s mind and Alex did not fear that the murderer might be coming for him next. The only way a person knows not to worry about themselves or their remaining son in such a situation is if that person knows with 100% certainty there is no more danger because that person controls the danger.

If that was the first and only thing I knew about this case and was just simply watching that video, with no implication of him being a suspect, but knowing he is a lawyer, which the cops obviously knew, then his tears and his upsetness during responses matched with his instinct to put important thoughts together during important events because of consequences. The cops KNOW that he would also be focused from his obvious experience in very important cases. They know that HE knows things are important at this point. They know that he can put emotions aside easier than the average person because of his profession. It's not notable that he is lying until you learn about HIM and HIS money problems and HIS drugs issues that make HIM look guilty especially now that he's in COURT. Being arrested and in court with the evidence given already makes you think he's a liar easier from watching that video. By itself, it does not have flags of any color, no less red. He's guilty from the other evidence given but there's nothing in that video that shows anything abnormal when you include who HE is... A lawyer...and THEY know that when questioning him. Their first guess is probably the husband did it, from stats, but they don't get any extra vibes from that in the interview. It happens later... After this interview.

Lawyers are able to do that through training and experience. Think of what a lawyer has to see in any trial. Being a para professional myself, having been through this (22 yr old son murdered by a total stranger), you put your professional hat on. You dig deeper than you thought you could to answer what needs to be answered. Having seen a father fall apart, this was genuine. Something is fishy. I am holding any judgement as we all need to, until all evidence is submitted. Too many people involved. A thief is not always a murderer. Also people knowing the financial trouble saw an opportunity to do this knowing Alex was vulnerable and the picture would fit all together to keep them safe from being a suspect in this horrendous deed.

I'm sorry to hear about your baby. I can assure you this Man likely didn't do much when his children were that small. All the housekeepers/nannies. They had lots of help. Part of raising kids is cooking and cleaning for them not just being there when they need guidance. So while that was his Son...I don't think there was that bond. Even though his Son was facing felonies the young Man could of still had a very lucrative life. His life didn't need to end. Alec could of even had a good life after the theft issues were cleared up. It's just not the end of the world. He embezzled money, would of done some time, paid some people back...but he'd of gotten out at some point for his money crimes. Murder isn't a good cover for embezzlement.

Some of us consider our pets, family, so we love them and mourn them. Alex does not seem to have any compassion or even, natural attachment to his family, or the dogs.....He is detached, but tries to pretend he is crying....His son had been responsible for the accidental death of a girl who died, due to his reckless boat handling. I would expect her family to sue Alex for a lot of money. A dead kid cannot be prosecuted so that issue has been eliminated......What about Maggie ? were they considering divorce ? I am repeating what I read, somewhere......That was not a happy family as far as we can see. Money seemed to be a serious issue with this man, as he could steal, to satisfy his needs......Looking very bad for him.

Sad about your dog. I am an animal lover, but veterinarians are not magicians and can only render whatever aid is available. I had to put three of my cats down who had been in my family 17 years because they were sick with cancer etc. It saved them from pain and they had a great life as we adopted all three from a shelter. We can give them the best life when they are alive. It is so hard to lose a pet or a family member. He is cold and calculated and sounds like he is discussing the results of the superbowl. The only reason he breaks down crying at the beginning and the end of the interview is because he is recounting exactly what happened and he knows that he killed them himself. This man is the most frightening type of killer because he had by all accounts a normal happy marriage and I do believe that he loved his son but he loved himself more and decided to kill them to distract authorities from his own legal and financial problems. Reason I say that is only because I heard from another u,tube show that 2 different guns were used . An also did he ever put up any award out to find killer, or killers. He got alot of money . Ive never lost a child. Nor has my father had to loose his son. But I did loose him and I sobbed for days..weeks..months.. I was so drugged up during his funeral just to hold it together that I dont fully remember it. Ive wrecked my bedroom apart and Ive done many dumb things to myself over my last year and a half. THIS... THIS is not how you react to loosing someone you claim to love dearly. THIS is not how you talk. THIS is not it folks. Im so glad he was convicted and Im recently getting into all of this as of today and the last day or two. The way the man described his sons brains... I personally couldnt keep it together enough to let alone see my dad when he died. They said imagine his stomach like a balloon popping when he got ran over. I never wanted to see that cause the image alone scared me and scarred me enough. This man... deserve a death sentence... and the judge stating hes seen men face that with lower crimes.. A man that can shoot his wife to death and obliterate his sons skull... deserves the worst punishment... He talks to his son Buster like hes just chillin in Jail.. WTF?!

This scumbag totally guilty. But I didn't act anything like you when I lost my Dad, my grandparents, ect. Family members and I were with family when they passed and none reacted the way you did. My Point? Nobody reacts the same. Some ppl and I am one of them will hold it together, and fall apart weeks maybe months later. In my case I know I feel it's my job to make sure everyone else is okay. If I flip out and fall apart, it will make others more upset. I also think in some cases that ppl who come across murder victim's (Family or strangers), have a hard time processing what has happened. Like the brain refuses to accept what it has seen. So they become almost robotic, and calm like they are answering questions about a movie they watched, because it can't be real.

This is the way a cold bloded psychopath acts after he shot his son and wife. Listen to the way he talks about others things he wasn't even asked about, as if you're having a conversation over coffee with some stranger. He's sniffing is not from crying but probably from drugs and the throat clearing from stress of getting cough or making sure he doesn't screw up the story. Any psychopath can make themselves cry on the spot if necessary and even appear devastated, but there's always something weird about it. The point is that, they are big actors and they can fake feelings like you wouldn't believe, but then this happens, when they forget to keep acting, because in reality a normal human being could never sit there and act that way after this horrific tragedy to his own family. So that's what the psychopath lacks and doesn't feel or understands, so he can't really acted out either.

It’s pretty fascinating to have gotten a front row seat to how this played out, and so thankful for the justice for Maggie and Paul, but also for the countless other familiar whom he abused. Judge Newman was right in saying “the monster you’ve become;” I mean, to actually have stolen MILLIONS from people who had great, and some “grave” needs ~ THAT IS the definition of a monster 😡. Then, today I finally watched the Netflix documentary and it just made me angrier as I realized the “high-life” this family was living… far and above most people, and it STILL wasn’t enough but yet they had their enjoyment of life on other people’s misfortune. So very sad. I thank God how the missing threads came together just in time to shed light on the truth ~ thus exposing his many lies! Take care @A Concerned Citizen!

He did tell them he was at the kennels if you watch the beginning of the cops recording. I’m thinking he was on opiates and his recollection of a timeline after seeing this tragic murder of his family was confused. I think someone murdered them for vengeance. That’s why he called his brothers. Why he isn’t saying much or out of control. He’s probably scared for his life and busters but knew he is the only one that could protect buster so wanted him at home with him. He was scared imo

The son’s phone was bothering him you can see he is thinking about something. Came out in the trial that the son had that video around the dogs and although Alex is not seen on the video, his voice is heard on it. I bet he was trying to access his sons phone to quickly delete the video and couldn’t find it or couldn’t log into the phone.

Murdaugh is actually so casually conversing with the special agent, almost as though he is talking about the latest ball game or a fishing trip. If you did not know the situation, you would never know that he had just discovered his wife and son with their heads almost blown off, and both dead, just a few hours before. I mean, he could be in shock, but his reaction is just way too casual and almost rehearsed on what he was going to say to questions. Don't forget, this man is an attorney who is well aware of how the system works.

Things that stuck out to me...He says "I think I actually tried to turn Paul over first". He picked up his son's phone before checking on his wife. Checking a pulse on his son who had brain matter by his feet. And when he said he and Paul had a good relationship he's shaking his head no. He volunteered a lot of unnecessary information (Dad in hospital, Mom has anxiety, wife is a dog lover, sunflower seeds). Left the scene to go get a gun.

Or maybe he picked it up to dial 911 and set back it down. I did a similar thing when I was woken up by a roommate who was telling me someone was trying to break into the house and telling me to dial 911. I picked up my phone and started to dial 911 but for some reason my brain went into survival “fight” mode because I thought she said that someone was already inside the house so I set the phone down and went for a weapon first.

The lack of tears is one thing and it’s different for everyone. What I can’t get past his calm demeanor. He isn’t asking why or how this happened. There’s no disbelief. He doesn’t seem confused about the circumstances at all. I would think he’d be overwhelmed by confusion and waves of horror/panic at the idea that his wife and son are not only dead, but they died in a gruesome manner. I can’t help but notice he was already referring to them in the past tense. I find it that to be really odd. One more thing: that’s cop in the front seat was sweatier in the first few seconds of the video than Alex was throughout it.

See, for me, it's hard to see someone cry without tears ESPECIALLY when they pretend to wipe it away at the end. Now maybe there are people who genuinely cry like this and they are not a psychopathic POS, I'd love to hear from one. Thing is, the way he's acting, can't that be shock? IDK never seen anyone in shock but I heard about it and it's a defense mechanism where it just doesn't sink in. However, given the circumstances of what he found and given that anytime I heard of someone going through shock during a horrific life changing event, they are always taken to the hospital (for observation or whatever)...so, not sure if shock relates to just not crying or if they'd be acting in a way that you'd know it's shock. Sorry for the long rant.
