He was not in possession of the weapon when he was punched and shot. He dropped it before he was taken to the ground and it is visible in the second officers body cam on the ground before he approaches them. They should not have used deadly physical force because he was disarmed.

Yeah replicas and real steel look nearly identical. However, I find it quite strange that after the shooting Officer Hansay checked the chamber and claimed it's a Glock 22. You can clearly see it's not real even from the body cam. I am not saying it is not a justified shooting. But I would not trust an officer who cannot tell the difference between real and fake firearm. A platform that law enforcement are very familiar with.
