EXTENDED INTERVIEW: A former KGB top boss says he watched Russian President Vladimir Putin rise the ranks from “a nothing” in the KGB who reported to him to the leader of the country and a “war criminal.”
In an exclusive interview with NewsNation’s Kellie Meyer, Oleg Kalugin talks of Putin’s mindset and motivations behind the war in Ukraine and why the United States and other allies should not take his threats of nuclear attacks lightly.

Stunned to see comments here by some who question the authenticity of this agent; those questioning must be youngsters. The agent has to be pushing 90 if not already; nobody is going to up and start playing a role at that age. His insights are genuine. Any of us who have lived 6 - 7 - 8 decades on the planet know genuine when we see it. Very interesting interview. Thank you.

Oleg Kalugin. He's indeed 87 years old. I've seen him in many documentaries, he knows exactly what he's talking about. One of his best appearances was in the must watch documentary "1983 The Brink Of Apocalypse" from 2007. Now at 87 he's drifting a bit into past times while talking as oldtimers usually do and he's sometimes searching for words, but his wisdom and experience are just incredible. Again, he knows exactly what he's talking about.

This man knows what he talks about. USA should take a stronger position if it wants Ukraine to last.
@nelsonking
@nelsonking 2 жыл бұрын
The USA already took a stronger position. Russia for 25 years was warning about NATO expansion but nobody listened. Putin drew a red line in his Munich 2007 speech but again we ignored him. We have missiles in Poland and Romania. If Ukraine joined NATO as was being planned, we'd likely have missiles in Ukraine. Missiles in Ukraine would have a 10 minute flight time to Moscow. Do you not see the problem there? When the USSR deployed missile to Cuba, 90 miles off the coast of the USA, we threatened World War 3. That was the Cuban missile crisis. Now, we want to deploy military infrastructure all around Russia's borders and we expect Russia not to react? Make that make sense. Like Putin said, European security cannot come at the expense of Russian security. In 2014, the USA supported a violent coup that ousted the duly elected Viktor Yanukovych and we installed a puppet - Petro Poroshenko, now succeeded by Zelensky, another puppet of ours. The Ukranian government has killed over 16000 civilians in the Donbass since 2014 but of course the western media will not cover that. Russia has been taking in refugees from the Donbass for some time now. All the while, the USA and its EU counterparts stayed silent as Ukraine kept violating the Minsk agreement. 16000 civilians dead and not a squeak from the moral police of the world, the USA. Make no mistake. This war could have been avoided but we pushed Putin against the wall and told him to do something about it. He did.
@jmwilliamsart
@jmwilliamsart 2 жыл бұрын
@@nelsonking This is total nonsense, some of your facts are wrong on numerous counts. Zelensky is not a puppet, he’s the legitimate elected leader of Ukraine. It wasn’t a violent coup that ousted Victor Yanukovich, the people forced him out after he rejected a trade deal with the EU countries. It was Russia that kept prolonging the war in the Donbass region, rather than make a more concerted effort to find a negotiated settlement. If Putin really cares about his own people than why didn’t he try to stop acting like an authoritarian leader, and give his people a more transparent form of government? Putin could’ve chosen to develop his economy and to try to give his people a better future instead of longing for the old Russian Empire. Perhaps he should’ve tried to be a leader who didn’t try to stay in power so long, and not become a Tzar in all but name? Even China’s leaders don’t remain in power for as long as Putin has. Even if Putin does have some grievances it doesn’t excuse his numerous heinous actions against people who disagree with him and the Ukrainians. Putin could’ve done better, instead he chose autocracy and corruption.

Guy Burgess believe it or not recruited Philby.. but Arnold Deutsch handled the Cambridge 5 .. and your pretty much correct on the world peace thing.. actually the pickup line was do you want to fight fascism which was the romantic way of saying do you want to commit treason against your country.. not many would bite.. but the truth is that when the Cambridge 5 realized that what they thought they were supporting WASN'T what they thought they were supporting.. by that time it was to late.. Philby never got to see the Fall of the Soviet Union as well as Burgess and McClean.. but one who did see the fall however not part of the Cambridge 5 was George Blake and he was very disappointed because he took it hook line and sinker after he escaped from prison.. but he was kept comfortable while he lived.. he was probably the most naive of the bunch.. he never could accept the fact that everyone he gave up was executed.. till the day he died

She has that face we've seen on a number of American news talk shows. I can't remember, maybe NBC, they sit around in armchairs and have news discussions , there was the weather man with his removable wig who looked like storm man Norman of gulf war1 . There was birthday calls for centenarians .

ROUGH TIMES AHEAD, WHAT DO WE DO? There is only one God, God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. One God, three parts. Humans have a soul, spirit and body. One person, three parts. The Bible says that we are all sinners. As it is written: There is none righteous no not one. Romans 3:10 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 But we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23(the word “death” in this verse means eternal separation, from God in hell). Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.Isaiah 1:18 Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that He was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.1CORINTHIANS 15:3-8 In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14 Jesus said unto her,I am the resurrection and the life: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. John 11:25 For by grace ye are saved, through faith; and not of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:21 If you would like to receive Jesus as your Savior. Realize that you are a hopeless sinner and tell Jesus that you trust in Him and only Him to save you. The moment you trust in Jesus and only Jesus, you are saved. After people get saved, they get baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. It isn’t a requirement for salvation, but it is something that God wants us to do after we are saved.

There are lots of people who don’t believe in your invisible friend. For two thousand years religious people have made money and killed innocent people for being different. I’m afraid you’ve been brainwashed. You certainly sound like you’re repeating a load of stuff that’s been planted in your mind over a long period. Just saying.
