No. Could be a mistranslaton, but Chrolo only need to ask about something related to that skill to understand it better. Yet this is HxH... keeping your ultimate ability a secret is a must survival. If you let the enemy see your hatsu normally you expect one of you to be dead. Chrollo would find out Komugis nen quite fast. The same way Meruem found it out. He became aware that Komugi is rapidly growing because of her own oath, aka if I'm ever beaten, I die... In jujutsu kaisen skillhunter would be easy, since letting the enemy known about your cursed technique would make them think about the consequence of it, amplifying the effect...

Well Komugis case is not guiet the same as Neons. Neon doesnt know about ben but she knows that she has extraordinary power and she was able to explain how she predicted future. Komugi just thinks it's a natural talent. Tho you might be right.

The problem is komugi is completely unaware of her nen usage… she just thinks she’s good at Gungi. Chrollo would ask her a question and she’d either say “whats an ability?” or “i am good an gungi” and idk if that would fulfill chrollos requirements

@@alexbentele6667 Chrollo was able to gather the context clues from her explanation of her, personally thought of, fortune telling and once she manifested the nen beast he noticed it and filled in the blanks. So I'd think that Komugi could be playing a game with Chrollo and he'd notice her eyes shimmer and infer that there's a nen ability happening. Hell, Meruem was able to notice her ability awakening during their matches so I don't think it's a stretch to think that Chrollo could as well. The rest can be inferred from simple questions that don't necessarily have to mention nen buzzwords.

@@slevinchannel7589 The conditions must balance out the power. More powerful abilities require stricter limits, more difficult activation requirements, or higher costs. "Don't eat salad on your birthday" would not justify Skill Hunter (or anything that required a condition). Skill Hunter's activation requirements make it difficult to use, especially in a fight, where it would be very handy to swipe an opponent's Nen ability. Chrollo has to do something like what he did with Neon - sit down for a talk over dinner or drinks, and during that time, 1) see the target's ability in action 2) ask questions about Nen and receive answers from his target 3) get the target to touch the handprint on his book 4) complete steps 1-3 within an hour Someone hostile to Chrollo/the Phantom Troupe can't be coaxed into such a scenario easily, even if they don't know about these requirements. And then he has to meet the new ability's conditions.

I absolutely hate it when fanboys say chrollo can defeat 2 seasoned assassins considered as legends. The only reason chrollo even dared to confront them alone has to be because illumi told when he would finish the job and how he surmised that zoldycks would not dare to kill him after illumi has finished his job. This fight would never happen if chrollo never knew for how long he has to stall the zoldycks or if it has to happen, he needs to have feitan or phinks or nobunaga. with him. Those two zoldycks would have gladly and without thinking sacrifice one of them just to complete the contract.

There is no proof that Chrollo would have lost that fight. I agree 2 of the strongest Zoldyck assassins are no joke, but Chrollo was intentionally just stalling. Most importantly, Zeno himself says that Chrollo was holding back the entire time.

Chrollo asked Zeno about 1v1 fight and Zeno said he definitely would win if chrollo was holding back but if chrollo was serious, then the story would be different and that doesn't mean Zeno would have lost but he would most probably die.Forget Silva , Zeno has enough nen and experience to handle chrollo who needs prep time to use his nen at the fullest which is seen in his match vs hisoka. I will say this again, chrollo would not have confronted 2 veteran assassin's who doesn't drag fights alone if he didn't have faith in Zoldycks professionalism. If that phone hadn't rang, Silva would have killed both Zeno and Lucifer.

Any character in hunter x hunter would benefit from prep time. Chrollo isn’t reliant on prep time and fighters have to adapt to any situation in a fight because you don’t know what would happen during a fight. If Chrollo wants to kill them then he would’ve used a different ability rather than a blanket that was used for evasion. Also, this wasn’t Silva’s first encounter with Chrollo and it is apparent that neither of them underestimates the other which means a lot!

Great question. I would assume he could simply because we've seen him use stolen abilities pretty much exactly like their original wielders. But his aura defence probably always stays at specialist lvl unless he steals an enhancer ability that increases your defence. Tsubone is conjunction nen user that morph into vehicle. Down side is need to uses of someone else aura as the rider that how ability will active. Tsubone can't use her ablity alone without an rider. She show case two ablity transform into. Motorcycle and a glider. There five more ablity from her we have not seem yet hopefully when the manga ever return.

@@ishspringer Well, I thought that too at first, but it's explained in the manga that turning your body into something falls under conjuration. That makes sense as conjuration is all about summoning complex items. With manipulation, it would probably be more of a process to transform whereas conjuration is near instant. Or maybe it requires both manipulation and conjuation. Plus, it helps balance the system by making another use for conjuration.

He has to see the ability. If the other conditions are met within 1 hour of the ability ending, I guarantee it would count as he was still witnessing the ability. He didn't suddenly stop witnessing the ability just because it had been active for a while...he was witnessing it the entire time and therefore the hour started only when the witnessing of the ability stopped.

In a pure 1v1, Illumi stands no chance. Illumi needs people to sacrifice in order to fight well, especially against other nen users. Add on to that the fact that Illumi is mostly experienced in killing people that don't use nen and I don't think he would have any good chance of winning. Now, if they started the fight in a crowd of people...then I don't think Hisoka would stand any amount of a chance. The assassin abilities themselves aren't very strong to experienced nen users.

Throughout the story, we are shown multiple red flags for Gon from recurring moments of him being selfish, close-minded, or stubborn, we are suggested numerous times that he is a double-edged sword, he even is punished by the narrative each time he is reckless and selfish with the theme of him hurting his arm. Gon as a character is at his core a shonen protagonist, the typical shounen protagonist is innocent, simple, and has a never-give-up attitude. He is not afraid to rush into a fight and stand up for what’s right in his eyes and Gon encapsulates everything a shonen protagonist is only to deconstruct it in the narrative. How I said, in the beginning, HxH has a narrative dissidence and is purposely written that way, Gon being a static character that also embodies the classic Shounen protagonist where the story is shown from the pink-colored glasses that is Gon perspective only to be taken away in this arc and all these red flags to appear all at once, of course, it will feel as if Gon change radically when in reality he didn't and that is why the narrative is punishing Gon, and we know because the theme of him losing his arm appear again in his fight with Pitou and after his metaphorical death Gon steps to be a protagonist at the moment. Meruem is the perfect foil for Gon, he started in the same position as Gon in the first arc, he leaves his mother to fulfill his fate with the help of his 3 companions. Meruem have the same viewpoint of the world as Gon, from a very childlike view, only to meet Komugi, it's no coincidence that both of them are green(the king and gon) AND white(komugi and killua)but the difference is that meruem develop from this relationship with Komugi and become a better person because of it but Gon didn't, he is stuck in the shonen archetype incapable of change. In a shonen story, Gon will be rewarded for his traits, his stubbornness, his view of the world but in hxh that is reflected upon and even punish if necessary where we are taken from his perspective to a more neutral perspective(the narrator) revealing to us that the world is more complex than gon perceives it and that is why Meruem is trying to find his own identity outside of what the world told him he should be and is rewarded but Gon choosing his quest stops him from developing as a person and he is narratively punished because of it. Let's talk about Kite and what his thematic role in the story is. Gon during the series meet these specific circumstances time and time again, and every time he chose to be compassionate(the trick tower, the haven arena, the spiders,genthru), his battle toward Pitou it's his concluding test before he achieves his quest, and pitou being his final enemy and not merruem it's very important thematically. Before we continue we need to talk about Pitou and his foil with killua. Not only killua was multiple times in the show associated with a cat but also they have the same character arc, during the chimera ant arc, both are introduced as ruthless and cold-blooded killers, who develop because of their affection for Gon and Merruem respectively. • www.reddit.com/r/HunterXHunter/comments/4680xv/characters_similitude_killua_and_pitou/ Killua character arc is at his peak during this arc, he struggles between saving Gon and keeping his promises to his dad that he will never let his friend down versus his assassin nature that dictates to run when he sees danger, but here is the thing, these dilemmas that killua face feels force and unnatural because it is,killua, again and again, save Gon from dire circumstances even if his life was on the line(Sadou, Nobunaga or in the game with Razor all fights where killua was prepared to get hurt or die for Gon sake)and when the motif come back again in CAA we know that killua faced these struggles already and succeeded putting in the question the validity of killua fear of abandoning his friend and more into the synthetic detail in his despair, foreshadowing that killua fear was fabricated and manipulated by his family, and him taking the needle from his head is literally and metaphorically taking his family influence on him out of his head ,that being the final step in liberating himself from the life of an assassin and keeping his promis to his father . And I want to also point out when Killua runs for Gon it was the first time in the series that we heard his steps something that melody mention how silent they are and how only assassins can do, implying that killua was still under the influence of his family and now he is free, mirroring killua from the first arc who wanted to be free but falling into his habits as an assassin. Pitou introduction in the story is similar to Killua who in the first arc killed someone in cold blood just because they can and both time Gon was present, the difference consists in who Gon considers important, and by Pitou mirroring Killua its show the hypocrisy of Gon morality, even more, showing us that thematically Gon chose his ends before killua, something we are shown in the series before. Killua arc. Komugi and killua are very similar in the context of their relationship with Gon and Meurem respectively, they even have the same motif of "Do I deserve to be so happy? I'm good at one thing and nothing else. So many wonderful things... I don't deserve 'em." vs "Gon... you are light itself. Sometimes you're too bright and I can't look at you... But can I still stay by your side...?," doubting themself to be enough, both of them had a rough childhood and find meaning in the relationship with Gon and Merruem respectively, to the point that both of them undervalue their own lives,komugi dies the same way killua intended with Gon, the difference is both komugi and Meruem because they chose one another over the rest but Gon didn't, gon chose his revenge over killua. Their relationship even if is wholesome is also shown to be toxic for both,killua is attached to gon and even enable his bad behavior even if it hurts him, and gon because he can always fall on killua for support doesn't grow, and it's no surprise when they have to separate even if it hurts, they both need to grow separately from each other and will probably meet again when both of them will be ready to.

Zoldick family arc-Hunter Chairman Election Arc(only killua part) These two arcs are a direct continuation of the previous one if the first one represents the start of their relationship and the beginning of their adventure together and the latter two are the conclusion of their relationship and the start of a new journey. The zoldyck family and the Hunter election arcs have themes about family relationships and new beginnings. Both arcs start very similarly, Gon is injured in the previous arc and Killua goes home. If Gon protects Killua from his family in the election arc we see the same situations mirroring each other, with Killua taking the role of the savior. And it does that by imitating the events of the after mention arc and mirroring them display the evolution of Killua as a character. We even get the light motif of specific characters appearing only in arcs that are reflections of each other, (the entire zoldyck family, the zoldyck servants, Canary and Gotoh enforcing the idea that these two arcs are connected. This arc is a more Killua centric one so we should talk about it first. Killua was introduced in the story with the motivation that he wants to escape his family, to kill them even which is a foil to Gon motivation to find his father, that making these two-character be connected by the theme of family, is necessary to remark that neither of them gets what they want more correct is that both of them get the exact reverse. Killua is the first character from the main four who fail his want", In the election arc, the one who runs after killua is not silva but illumi. Silva and Killua have a very complex relationship throughout the series, in the zoldyck mansion arc Silva is the reason Killua starts the journey, "We're father and son, but there hasn't been a lot of meaning in that. I was raised by my parents to be an assassin, and I believed that was how I should raise you. But you're no mere extension of me. I also want to note that killua is giving Ilumii the opportunity that he was given in the zoldyck family arc by doing that Killua character arc ends with saving Gon the same way he was saved. Killua being able to escape his assassin mentality and reunite with Alluka, starting their journey is showing us that Killua never wanted to run from the family contrary he wanted to have a connection with them. What he was running was the family business, something he was expected to be even against his choice. Now let's talk about Gon, this arc is the perfect one for him to finish his quest on finding his father. I talked before about how Gon personal failures will cost him his hunt for Ging, and in this arc we see it becoming real, Gon didn't succeed in finding Ging is the other way around Ging just let a note where to find him and that it, the entire search finish so anticlimactic. I talked before about how the narrative will reflect the character feeling, and this is one of them, Gon fills out of character meeting Ging like this, is not earned, we see Gon throughout the story complicating things because he wants to do it his way, the right way but not now and this is why I think it mean: • Gon is maturing, his innocence died in the fight with Pitou, his child persona died for him to be reborn as a teen, he is finally ready to start growing as a person, and that is why he needs to let go of killua as well and develop who he is as a person. • Like Killua, Gon also hasn't finished his goal because it wasn't what he wanted, Gon didn't want to hunt for Ging it's the opposite, Ging wanted Gon to hunt him and become a hunter, throughout the series we are given clues as that being the case, from kite coming to whale island and inspire Gon to become a hunter, he left gon the clues to search the greed island, or how the game is designed to train to imply it was made for Gon to train and become stronger, and I find it important to mention that like Silva, Ging as well needed to let go ok Gon and let him choose his path and this arc mirroring these events foreshadow that Gon like Killua will find his want. I talked about how Kite represents Gon's search for Ging and the next time we see Kite we can't see him like that anymore, and similar to Gon that symbolic meaning is dead but we have a new version of him, and we can interpret that Gon stopped his hunt and he is ready to start a new journey. In conclusion, these two arcs encapsulate the themes of family, a theme that runs deep in both Killua and Gon, both start their journey with a misguided want, Killua start by running from his family and Gon searching for his dad, we know that this isn't the truth, they just wanted a connection with their family without the expectation of their father and who they should be, that is why when they never get what they want in a fulfilling way, they were both set up to failure to the beginning and only when they fathers talk to them and liberated them of their expectation both Gon and Killua can start their journey. I also want to note how in the end only Gon and Killua are ready to start a new chapter in their life, Leorio and Kurapika are not present implying that they still have to work on their wants and maybe we will see a mirroring similar to Gon and Killua in the future. Heaven's Arena Arc-Greed Island Arc these two arcs are the easiest to analyze, possessing more obvious mirroring and fewer themes. Both arcs are in essence training arcs that have the role of explaining the power system, showing us the of training Gon and Killua and their development, exploring their character dynamic, and foreshadowing their inevitable fallout. Both arcs follow Gon and Killua training in a designed place that doesn't follow the rules of the real world, both heaven arena and greed island act as a safer place for training, not in the sense that there are not in danger but more in the idea that they will not suffer real-life consequences for their action, and like Hisoka stated after fighting gon their next fight will be in the "Real World" and wee see that when the arc is mirroring that Hisoka and gon don't get to fight each other but together in a place that the rules of the "Real World" apply. The arcs continue with both Gon and Killua fighting alone until they face an obstruction where a mentor figure appears and helps them overcome the situation and become stronger by training them, both mentors knowing each other and showcasing the growth of the main characters, both commenting on their potential and Gon threatening nature. Both arcs conclude with two battles, one against a trio of antagonists that have the role of exhibiting the rapid growth that Gon and Killua went through and one where Hisoka is a participant. I would like to talk about Hisoka and Gon's relationship throughout the series, especially these two arcs. Hisoka and Gon are foils to each other in a sense, one where Hisoka takes the role of a mentor figure throughout the series and Gon taking the role of the protege. At the beginning of the series, Hisoka is presented as Gon's dark self, someone that represents Gon's destructive and ruthless nature that is subtly shown in the hunter exam arc, furthermore as the series progresses their dynamic changes, from enemies to allies. Gon in the heaven arena fights Hisoka as an enemy(his dark self) but loses. This scene has two important setups: • To showcase the, especially the difference in power and experience and Gon's stubbornness and rapid growth that Hisoka takes interest in. • thematically showing us that Gon fails to win against his dark self their last fight in Greed island where they allay together have the role of presenting to us how much Gon morality decline to the point that he doesn't fight his shadow but fight beside it and we see his descent into darkness through the series, culminating in the chimera ant arc. The arc concludes with Gon and Killua finding a clue that gets them closer to finding Ging but getting trapped in a conflict that shouldn't involve them but their friend's life is on the line pushing them more in the darkness.

york new city arc-succession contest arc Now we get into a little bit of a predicament because from now on one the material is not Finnish but it is here where I think applying this theory can help us the most in predicting the future of this arc and how will it end. The succession contest arc proves to be a very heavy one with lots of new characters and subplots and at this point, the story can go in a multitude of directions but one thing is for sure, it will not end predictably but I will do my best. I will start with the elements that are repeating in this arc, more precisely the story dynamics between kurapika, the phantom troupe, and the mafia. The story is set mirroring the york new city arc with kurapika as a bodyguard for a girl on the request of his father that put their wants before their kids, a collector of scarlet eyes and the commodification of humans for the rich, the phantom troupe wanting to steal from them, a subplot of revenge, and Hisoka being a wild card and puppeteering things from the shadow for his own needs but we also have some dynamics that oppose these arcs like chrollo is the one more emotional and wants revenge and kurapika is the more cold and rational that wants to take the eyes and the mafia that idolize the phantom troupe. We even get to resee characters specific for the york new arc-like Melody Basho and Izunavi and if we know something about characters that appear in specific arcs from previous arcs is that some of them will die. In the opposite spectrum, we have characters like Leorio, the zodiacs,netero beyond, Ging, and Pariston who I don't think will have an important role in these arcs and are setups for the next arc that parallel the election arc. (I think they will have some scenes here and there but will not drive the plot in a significant way). Now that we conclude this part I want to talk about the themes of these arcs, and why the focus will be on kurapika, the spiders, the mafia, and the princess. Both arcs have that underlying theme of class, privilege, and power, commenting on the class system, justice, and the futility of revenge and a lot of religious motifs and symbolism that reinforce the themes even harder. First, I will start discussing the main characters of these arcs, the spiders and kurapika, what their themes and motifs are, and how th, ey reinforce the themes of the arcs. I will begin with chrollo and his identity issues because I believe that is the most misunderstood character, The truth is that not only chrollo has an identity issue, is the entire troupe, is in the name, the phantom troupe, a troupe made of phantoms, people who shouldn't exist, and that is because they were from meteor city, a place that legally doesn't exist and neither should they. In the show, Meteor City is a junkyard city inhabited by outcasts. People who live there do not exist in any official records and the existence of the city itself is known to very few. Meteor city in cannon is depicted as an underprivileged group, they are thrown out by society and taken back to be exploited when is convenient, we see it with the Zoldicks who took people to work as servants or the mafia who use people to do crimes and even if they escape from meteor city and try to integrate into society they cant, and we know that because of the trump incident. you can read about it here: hunterxhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Meteor_City The hxh narrative is implying that the lack of identity for the meteor city is not a philosophical but a physical one, without identity they can not be equal, are not given any rights, and are completely dehumanized and ostracized by the society at large, what choice they have is either they remain in the garbage-infected city, get outside and suffer prejudice, or be utilized by the mafia as objects for crimes. Without an identity, they can never be accepted in society and live a normal life. The Phantom troupe identity issues become more than discover who they are and more about fighting the system that put them down is no coincidence that a lot of phantom members as coded as different underprivileged groups, Shizuku and Machi have abilities that are very females works and use them as powers, Uvogin is coded as black, Nobunaga and Phinks as poor, Feitan has a speech impediment and is short, Kortopi is coded as a child and whos abilities are making fake copies"child labor" etc. And Togashi wants us to see the spiders in this light because they are shown to stay in poor condition, always at the bottom of the society in contrast with the mafia or the princess who is always shown with luxury and opulence even to the point of overindulgence. But what about chrollo identity issue, Chrollo struggle between his love for his friends and his role as a leader, the only time he genuinely shows his emotions are always outside the troupes where his members don't see him, one example is when he cried when he read about uvo dead, but when he is with the troupe he needs to put a facade for the troupe and that can be seen in the scene where they finish the mission, Nobunaga still want to avenge uvo but chrollo stopped him not because he doesn't share his feelings of revenge but because doing so will put the troupe in danger, and even in the text this element is call out, Nobunagaevan said to chrollo I don't want to talk to the boss I want to talk with chrollo, implying that they are differences between chrollo as a person and chrollo as the boss. We even see that dynamic in his foil kurapika who struggles as well between his role as an avenger and between his love for his friends. So does chrollo have an identity problem, well yes but not in the way we know, but to understand his character we need to analyze his religious themes and his clear mirroring of kurapika. Chrollo wasn't born with an identity so is okay to assume that he probably chose the name Lucilfer for himself, but why this name, well Lucifer was a fallen angel who defied God and was sent to hell, Gods in hxh are always associated with people in power Netero, Meruem, and the royal guards or the king of taking and the princess, but the hell and devils messenger(the kurta tribe was described as such by the outsiders) are associated with underprivileged groups, and I think this association is not about good vs bad but power dynamic, Gods have the powers and the people of the bottom are demonized, and I believe his name is more a declaration of rebellion against the status quo, against the people on power who ignore their problem and treat them as nonexisting and I think this reading is correct because of the other religious symbolism chrollo have the Jesus one, you can read that in two ways: • If Chrollo is Jesus and the Phantom troupe is the apostles then this can be read-only together they get any form of godhood, and if godhood is read in the story as power, this can be read-only together they get the power to get their voices heard in the society. • Also, another reading can be chrollo as a Jesus figure, someone who is cast from heaven to save the souls of the damned(without identity) that rest in hell(Meteor City), and I think both reading are correct for chrollo, but what about the reverse cross, is it demonic or is the saint peter cross, well both, it can be read as both and both are correct, one can be read as a rejection of God(people in power who control society)but also as saint peter cross that represents him as unworthy of being crucified in the same manner as Jesus, and that and we see that happening in the text when he's capture by kurapika, he chose to die over the spider believing that his life has no inherent merit over the other members "Together, we are the Spider. I'm its head, and you're the legs. The legs do what the head says. But there will be times when the legs are more important than the head. If I die, someone else will take over. My orders are of utmost priority. My life is not. Be sure to make the right decision. I'm only a part of the spider. What's important is the survival of the whole, not the individual." and what is interesting is the juxtaposition between the lucifer element of pride versus the saint peter cross representing modesty, I want to mention Chrollo character designed that reinforce this theme of a Jesus figure, first we have the nails in his shoes and clothes, the sun and moon ability on his hands and the reverse cross on the back that is associated with the martyrdom The symbol originates from the Catholic tradition that when sentenced to death, Peter requested that his cross be upside down, as he felt unworthy of being crucified in the same manner as Jesus. , we can interpret that as him viewing himself not as a savior but the entity of the spider-like one, the only thing that chrollo finds pride in.

To understand his character we need to talk about kurapika religious symbols and themes as well because they are connected to chrollo as well, they are foils so if you want to understand one you need to understand the other as well. Kurapika religious motif is very similar in a way with chrollo, first one is the ''agents of the devil'' an identity put by the outsider for the kurta clan, putting a minority group in a position of dehumanization, reinforcing the idea that underprivileged groups are connected with these demonic elements like (hell, demons, monsters). 2.the motif on half-angel in the prediction should be read more literal, not in angel as a good person but more as in angel who is servant to god, and in the text of hxh gods are always associated with people in power, kurapika is a bodyguard for people in power in both arcs that he appears. But when we look in contrast with chrollo who has the motif of a fallen angel we can see that both are identities that are chosen by themselves,kurapika wants to protect the status quo and chrollo wants anarchy and to dismantle the social order. 3.Is his weird connection that the narrative is putting kurapika with the virgin mary, the statues paper twice in the show, one in chimera ant arc in relationship with colt Reina and his mother creating a connection between this element and motherhood and then coming back in kurapika altar twice and what it may represent, from foreshadowing him as a future guardian of wobble, the manga allude about it with oito and wobble as virgin mary and Jesus, and how kurapika is again in the position of the angel(the guardian) and we also have the holy spirit(wobble men beast), but if we want to take it a step further it may represent kurapika taking the role of the virgin mary(in case that oito die kurapika may have them take the role of "mother" for wobble ,and i use the term mother in the context of the themes and motifs in the show because motherhood is associated in the text itself with aunt mito,kikyo ant queen and oito as self sacrificial and parental in contrast with the theme of fatherhood that represent a more self serving love that we see in Ging,Silva,Light and the King of Kakin, ). 4., In the end, about the Jesus symbolism that we find in kurapika and what it means in correlation with the theme that this symbol has in the text and its meaning. First, we have his mirroring with chrollo and how they share the same motif of sacrificing their personhood in favor of their people but also the religious motif of kurapika nen, especially his steal chain that have the motif of the cross that when in used is reversing how it ties together with him being a metaphorical spider and possible foreshadowing for kurapika betraying the Gods (people in power) and the and also the dolphin represents Jesus. It acts as an analog for his crucifixion upon the cross. In this way, for Christians, Jesus Christ is the anchor of their faith but also Dolphins are both a symbol of love and healing. ... Evan in their introduction leorio is presented as greedy and kurapika as an advocate for justice but with the progression of the story we see the role reversing Leorio greed come from a place of caring and wanting to make a change in the system a motif that comes later in the election arc and kurapika justice come from a place of revenge and even if both of them started their journey from a similar place(helping a friend that needed medical help, but dying in the end and how their death affected them and their goals)they both sharing the theme of social injustices and how they cope with their trauma but in opposite ways, and similar to Gon and Killua who share the same themes in different ways but were not honest with their wants, thematically failing only to reverse them so I presume will occur with Leorio and Kurapika where both of them will thematically fail their wants because not only is not what they need deep down but also their character flows will stop them from achieving that(leorio wanted to become a doctor to save people ,and we see throughout the story his inability to save his friends and only offering them support or kurapika who wants revenge on the spiders or collecting the eyes of his brethren)and their character arcs will reverse where kurapika will be in the position of saver (prince wabble is a prime candidate for that )vs leorio where he will finish his character arc in the position of avanager and bringer of justice something i believe is foreshadow in the first arc of the hxh in the trick tower where kurapika is incapable to finish his fight and leorio finish it .
