I always thought it was supposed to be clearly implied hisoka killed her. Like immediately after their fight hisoka killed every ability he used prior to the fight and then she also died. doesn’t really take sherlock holmes to put 2 and 2 together

Fr this perspective change is massive for a man with Hisoka’s ability. He enjoyed the fight to its fullest extent by “putting his life on the line” but his confidence ultimately led him to fight someone with the skills and intellect to kill him. Now after his defeat and post-death nen boost he will still enjoy it although instead of a fight he wants a massacre fueled by his desire to be the strongest again.

He wouldn’t fare against Meruem, Hisoka would get his head torn off in seconds. If Netero could only hold Meruem off temporarily Hisoka even with his power up would get annihilated. Since Hisoka is still not stronger than Netero was.

He lead Meruem into a trap, launched a sneak attack and then gave Meruem the condition that he had to defeat him without killing him to get his name. All the while going all out and trying to kill Meruem. If Netero couldn’t scratch Meruem with all of that Hisoka doesn’t stand a chance no matter what tricks he tries.

U misunderstand tho. Hisoka does have motive. In order to gain the type of victory Hisoka wants he needs to cut down the abilities that give Chrollo too much of a forsight even b4 the real physical fight he's aiming for. So he's taking a page from Chrollo's books, and is preparing kinda like Chrollo did, so that they could have a more, let's say, level match-up?

I could also see "fixing what Chrollo did to Neon" as an explanation for how he developed the ability stealing chain in the first place. He didn't have it in Yorknew, or else he would have just taken Pakunoda's ability, read her mind to identify and locate the Troupe, and gone hunting; but I could see him tinkering with the idea after seeing that Chrollo can steal other people's Hatsu.

I think it's the reverse. Why would the people who were Neon's bodyguards suddenly be able to set off on a dangerous journey without her? She's still part of the Nostrade family, so she would be a target. If not for her abilities, then at least for ransom. If Kurapika was able to take over the Nostrade family, it makes sense to keep the people who are already working for him employed. Just because Neon died, that's no reason to fire Basho and Melody. Especially since he's already formed somewhat of a bond with them. Regardless of whether or not Melody shrugged it off, life does go on, and having financial security is a good thing. Kurapika is also aware of Melody's true goal and on good terms with her, so maintaining that relationship makes sense, since he's another pair of eyes to stay on the lookout for the cursed music. And being in a position of authority at the Nostrade family might put even more people at her disposal. It's also unlikely for them to bring it up all of a sudden when busy with work. Kurapika and his allies can't contact each other whenever or say whatever they please at this moment, so that makes it even less likely. It's something that might come up between Kurapika and Melody at some point in the future, though. Just don't expect it to take the form of someone asking what happened to Neon since there's not really a reason to ask that in-universe. Everyone who knows who she is should know whether she's alive or not. And neither are you likely to just reminisce over someone's death.

Well chrollo nen steal ability is only possible if the person he stole from is still alive. If he can't use the ability anymore then neon is dead. Now this is assuming if her being resesatated doesn't mean chrollo has to steal the ability again to use it. Sadly what happend with the nen ability sun and moon was a very unique circumstance that likely won't be able to happen again. But hisoka killing neon makes sense That being said if neon dying and then being resesatated could also be a loopole to lifting the nen curses since most curse condition are till death, not after/beyond. So it's possible she escaped koropika curse by dying, then having someone bring her back it moments after dying.

i think neon's dead as chrollo loses her powers while on the ship, where kurapika also is located; it wouldn't make sense unless neon were close to kurapika during the succession war arc on the BW ship, but that doesn't seem to be the case

That doesn't mean it is that cut and dry and there could not be a twist down the road. Because of how off-hand it was seems unlikely to me that she actually is dead. He already spent a Fortune trying to get the scarlet eyes and said he can make that back using her. Never happens. This is anime not real life. The other characters in the show already didn’t like him and showed us that. Once his way of being a mafia member was gone he was easy picking. His finical back up can easily allow him to get killed Because he was of no use anymore. Can easily piss off a person once there usefulness is gone. Enemy come and take over. This is What happens to you when you rule by another hand instead of gaining power the old fashion way and lost his and his daughter life because of it.

We see this in the Black Whale arc at one point. 3. The Mafia understands the intricacies of nen, so they have no reason to kill neon and lose her abilities forever when they could just let her be, as she's completely inoffensive, and maybe wait until she gets her powers, or not, it's sweat off their backs. 4. Kurapika is still working for Nostrade. His bodyguard group is on their name, and he still needs support from the underworld to search for the eyes. He won't just let them die like that. It would mean losing his footing in the underworld, and would also be a bad look if, as the boss of security for the family, he lets them all die. He's never getting any jobs or any respect again. Your whole argument is "they killed her out of pride/dislike" when all the logic points otherwise. I think even Hisoka killing her makes more sense, but even then, Kurapika wouldn't let that happen.

Makes no sense to call themselves that if the Nostrades are all dead. They also don't act like their old bosses were murdered. Their would be small hints in their mannerisms or even when Mizai initially met Kurapika.

The Nostrade family organization is already established and comes with with power already. This is why Kurapika was given the title “ Young Boss” The only thing that changed was the position of the head of the family. The boss now is Kurapika and with his type of field of work it doesn’t matter if the Dude died or not. Death with bosses are normal in his field of work. Kurapika goals are the scarlet eyes and that alone.

Well that's for taking control, not for stealing nen abilities. Plus Chrollo's ability were very unique in that the ability was being borrowed from the person, the person had to continue to live in order to supply the power from what I understand. So if Kurapika were to try to take it, it theoretically could work unless the author says so. It would be like redirecting water from a river I imagine
