Seriously, all of his music! I'm not religious at all and honestly hate having it shoved down my throat, but even the songs he has that are specifically about god/faith are very good. Should listen to his albums in order because he often refers back to other songs, there's a little bit of a storyline.

He admits to dealing with anxiety in all his albums. That's why he had a breakdown last year cuz he did 4 different kegs of a tour. He has massive anxiety on stage cuz his music is so personal to him. He's sharing his heart and soul to people who relate to him. Yet he continues to face them and not let them hold him back.

I can't even articulate how much I love that song and video, it's truly next level material. What I've seen of NF's story is amazing, he exploded on the scene while somehow remaining completely separate from it, and I think he is doing good for many people. I have a 13 year old daughter that really connects with him, and I like that he's open about his feelings and hopefully modeling positive responses to them. I have a 15 year old son that you might say is rather anti-Christian at the moment that also really likes his music. I'll be keeping an eye on anything he releases for sure.

Those bars were amazing! I only listened to it the first time but as I learned more and more about what those bars meant....wow. That blew my mind. As a rock listener I can appreciate that being that a lot of rock artists have a lot of different and dark meanings to their lyrics as well. I liked hearing the biblical side of this as well. Depression is a war. Every day. Bands like Disturbed are doing their part as well to help people fight that war. You win the battle for each day just by getting up and doing something productive but the war continues in your heart and your mind when you have it. People don't see it when they look at your smile but it's real. Jesus love heals though. That's the good news. He can help you not only win the battles but also the war. That's why it's worth fighting every day to let go of those balloons. Here's another thing. The lies are that you can't win and that you are alone. No. Not at all my friends. God is with us. He promised never to let go. It reminds me of Jesus calming the storm. We have to trust in him and his love. We have to have faith. God bless and thank you for this video.

when he starts talking about the stuff we bury inside, it reminds me of sin nature... we all have it and it lies to us and it doesn't go away... we need to fill our minds with good things (whatever is good, whatever is pure), and if you tell yourself you're doomed to failure, weakness, insecurity, trapped in sin, etc. then you can never be great (or accomplish God's purpose for you), because you will be murdering your faith. Sadly, NF also has a song about Hating Himself... He knows his entire career is essentially risking his faith.
@jimmieupton1440
@jimmieupton1440 4 жыл бұрын
I dont know if he feels hes risking his faith. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. None of us are worthy of heaven but if we believe in him truly we will make it because he died for us. So him pursuing his music and talking about his feelings is okay I think. I dont see how he would be risking his faith?
@ohifonlyx33
@ohifonlyx33 4 жыл бұрын
@@jimmieupton1440 Ok ok, to be clear: I don't believe you can lose salvation. It's by grace through faith and not of works (Eph. 2:8-9) and I believe that since it is God saves us, then nothing can separate us from the love of God (Rom. 8:38). What I'm sensing from NF is that he believes in God, but may not have an understanding of salvation that gives him a personal relationship with God--or maybe he has a somewhat weak relationship with God. I don't know, and that's honestly between him and God. What I'm saying is there are things that prevent us from having a closer relationship with God. Holding onto sin, not let go of the past, and being tempted by the flesh. His fame opens the door to more temptations, and he admits in songs like Intro II things like: "Thought I'd be happy, it feels like I'm cursed It's hard to be clean when you play in the dirt and I thought it'd get better, but it's getting worse And I got nobody to blame when I work Like 24/7, I ain't been to church And Satan keep callin' me, he tryna flirt ... or in Outro: Now I want you to picture me: I'm in a hotel rapping, crying on the floor of the bathroom Staring in the mirror, my room, hands shaking playing "How Could You Leave Us" through the speakers on my iPhone Tryna figure out if I'ma always feel the way that I feel or maybe someday I can learn to be happy Or maybe I can't be, 'cause if the music ain't emotional enough, are they gon' call me a has-been? Pain's always been the root of my music /If I cut it off, how am I supposed to keep growing If I let it go, won't my whole career be in ruins? The point being, what he does is so powerful and important for others... but he also puts himself in a place of vulnerability to things that could turn him away from God. But I'm not suggesting that God would turn away from him.
@jimmieupton1440
@jimmieupton1440 4 жыл бұрын
@@ohifonlyx33 faith is having complete trust or confidence. You said " he knows his entire career is essentially risking his faith." He never talks about losing his faith ? He wrote that song oh lord and he definitely understands there is a God. So you saying he knows hes risking his entire faith made no sense lol. That's what I'm getting at. That doesnt mean he wont struggle with God because of fame. He didnt lose faith just because of temptation. See why I was confused you said that?he could be risking a closer relationship though
@ohifonlyx33
@ohifonlyx33 4 жыл бұрын
@@jimmieupton1440 I already explained what I meant. I'm not sure if I'm reading your vibes right, but I'm sensing antagonism. Look, I don't know NF beyond what he puts in his songs, which is by his own account "what it's like to meet [him] in person". And that is fine. I'm glad he's able to share this with people who need it. But if he's struggling to walk with God, struggling with depression, etc. Adding fame to the mix can be a disaster. He's basically said as much in The Search when he "got a taste of the fame had to pump [his] stomach" and his voice memo about how he had the worst year of his life when he finally "succeeded". I'm not even saying he should stop. I'm saying, I wish him the best, I hope he finds peace, I pray he doesn't quit seeking God, and I hope he learns to grow from his past. I wasn't even talking about his "saving faith" since I cannot judge that. All I know is he once said he "grew up Christian" and I've known enough kids who grew up going to Sunday school, but walked away from God by high school or college age because their so-called faith wasn't a personal faith. Or adults who I know are saved, even went to Bible school studying ministry, but they fell into depression or pride or anger or whatever struggles they had... they stopped going to church, stopped studying the Bible, only pray a little general blessing over their food, and became self-righteous. If I asked that person if he believed in God he would say yes. But he's not living by faith or being a very good witness for God. Not that God expects perfection, but he does call us to be set apart by the process of sanctification.

He did have a breakdown after he had the top record on the charts and he sold out all his shows he said he wanted to be dead. He had met who is now his songs she's helping him. He knew he had depression and anxiety but didn't realize he had OCD. He didn't realize that the racing thoughts wasn't normal. Part of his OCD is about how he dresses. His Therapist challenged him to wear different clothes home by the time he got home he was sweating and shaking and crying. He's convinced himself something terrible will happen to him or someone else if he dresses differently. He did say he was able to forgive his Mom realizing she was dealing with her own issues. He's still in therapy and knows it's going to be a journey.

Thank you for turning me on to a new artist who has blown my mind and touched me in this song so deeply. I can't find the right words for all this song brought up in me. Thank you for putting emphasis on the struggle of mental health and how much it needs to have light shown on it as a very real, and manageable obstacle if it is not something that is cloaked in shame and stigma of being INSANE. We are all IMPERFECT, some of us are also painfully intelligent and stifled by the inability to express our thoughts and ideas in the " correct manner ". We are individuals who continuously try to be " UNIQUE " but end up following the trends or just finding it is not easy to stand alone. Those who are not able to make that choice to blend in, we are well......we are learning to find a little bit of pride in our pain and the trials that seemed to be the end of us, they are now what in hindsight makes us shine!! What an amazing young man you had with you here! He is beautiful and I pray that he never looses his enthusiasm and kind spirit!

I love that you brought up balloons being easy to let go of, but he's holding onto them. In a interview he was explaining his song Outcast and said he was sitting inside the prison cell with the keys in his hands to represent how we have the keys to turn away from our fear and burdens but we don't for some reason. The balloons represent burdens and obviously he's holding onto them in this video and it's making him struggle to move forward, but the good thing is that he hasn't completely given up. I like that parallel between the Outcast song and this one.

Got my fingers crossed that you have reacted to “intro 3” after hearing your joy of inner dialogue...if this is a good representation of it....intro 3 is...find out paster Rob. Very very rich content to relate to with mental health there. It’s true art.

Thank you for another awesome NF song review...love his music ❤️ I’d love to see more NF, maybe Wake Up, Remember This, or I Just Wanna Know, tried to give a spectrum of topics with the song titles... His internal dialogue is many of us, doesn’t mean people are crazy, but he’s relatable...

I think the end was him inviting all of us to grab our burdens and come along with him in the journey, the search, to find the way to release them. He's reaching to his fans and telling them they're not alone. He's telling us we're in this together. We can make that journey together.

Excellent reaction and channel. New sub. Lookin forward to more. Mahalo.. God bless "+" 💕💕 I struggle hard with PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. I'm in the process of finding a new therapist so it's been ruff. This song really helps me feel like I'm not the only one struggling, at the same time..yeah it's hard to know others feel this way also. I know for sure I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I pray that everyone out there that is going through something, even those who aren't.. that you know deep down in your core that you are not alone and YOU ARE LOVED!!!

Great overview of this song and the lyrics...I just found it (and this channel) and I am so glad I did. Everything you said was true. I've heard NF's songs on the radio and never guessed he was a Christian. I respect him SO much more now that I know he believes. Thank you for this analysis!
