I look so forward for Chel and hut as I play those modes a lot I do wish that ea would bring back winter classic mode like in nhl 14 and nhl moments as well as be a pro using any player from any team so grateful ea has stepped it up big time this year

was hoping for something new for my career. i’ve hated the constant conversations between and during games and to play a full year in college or minors would be cool kinda like they had in old games

The Pressure Meter is something we saw in older early 2000's NHL titles. Nothing new but good to see

The pressure system is something I'm looking forward to experience first hand, I honestly thought it was already implemented in the previous games by default, but to see it have a more important role in NHL24, I hope it will lead to some more different/unique goals and more crazy goalie saves. Also, the new hitting system sounds interesting and, and honesly, very needed. I always thought that getting big hits were way too easy at times, even if my player's stamina was gone, I could still land a big hit pretty easily. This system makes it so you'd have to stratagize more when defending; do you go for a big, bruising hit, or do you save stamina and go for an easier, safer approach? I also hope that pokechecking is harder, or that it takes more than one poke, like if the attacker loses it slightly after getting poked at once, but still has some control of the puck before getting full possession of it again after a second or two. That way, it'll break up the play, but not completely, making it a little harder to complete a play, but harder to defend. Having the advanced skill moves more accessible to casual players is a good thing, in my book. Sure, I still want them to be hard to pull off, but without having to rely on multiple buttons while playing a fast game can make it too hard for a lot of people, myself included. But I'm glad that the option for the traditional controls are still there, for the more skillful players. Here's to hoping that it will feel as different as people says it has.

For me personally, a few minor upgrades would give the game incredible replay value in offline mode. Acknowledge historic rivalries and have the ability to “build” new ones similar to what you’ve been able to do in past 2k games. I would also like for them to talk about things going on in your franchise season in game, ie a player getting injured the last time you played a certain opponent or what the scores were. A deeper dive into advanced stats. What players are scoring with other players and on what lines and against what teams. Who are they hot and cold against? Has your team gotten shutout every time you play a certain opponent etc. these minor things would make me buy the game right away no questions asked

Not everybody wants to spend hours to learn one move when all they want to do is play hockey. So having the option to use the button is great for some players. You can still use the original controls if you don't like it. Also, I cannot believe that the targeted passing took this long to come back. I remember when every playstation 1 hockey game had this. I don't know why it was ever removed.

Ea actually took a big step in gameplay this year 👌

I love the pressure bar I just hope you can hide it. I'd rather just "feel" that the pressure is being built up, I don't want a meter in the middle of the ice. Or maybe if they had it at the bottom or top of the screen that'd be better, like the Madden momentum meter

Looks good but as a goalie in WOC I laughed about the throwback that only happens if you use the right stick. But the goalie system looks a little better and I hope I’m not wrong. Saves we’re doable it was more of close quarters and beauty backhand that was OP. So this is a positive. Can’t wait to try it

The new passing system is going to be huge for this year. I agree with you it’ll be sick for power play as I always like to try and cycle and emulate real hockey on the pp but with 23 passing it was near impossible to do this will surely make it easier or more of a chance

BTW about the michigan and other special moves, the preview says you can set it to legacy controls if you want to.

I do like that they are making gameplay improvements overall, but we have not had a single new game mode or new way to play in years. I understand hockey is hockey but outside of HUT, world of chel, and versus we need something new to keep the series fresh.

Love your videos. I just want to coment on when you talked about the simplified dekes with the press of a button. I get what your saying that it should be something that you practice to get good, but for guys like me who dont get to play as often as i would like i feel like thats a nice option to be able to jump in a game here and there and be able to perform these difficult dekes. Also ive never been able to do a michigan lol. Keep up the great content!! you are my top youtube channel to watch!!

I feel like people are gonna exploit the pressure meter by ragging in the corners until the meter is full. It’ll be the new camp behind the net and glitch wrap meta.

Love the exhaust/system pressure engine. Really good idea. I hope they revamp franchise mode. They need to make it more interactive, like FIFA. Official presentations when you trade for/sign a player etc would be so cool. For example, having the player holding up the jersey in a press conference.

I hope this games the year where we actually get something new with be a pro.

Everything else looks really really good, but I don’t like the idea of my teammates and goalie getting worse based on a little pressure. Hopefully that stat nerf isn’t too strong. The new passing looks like a lot of fun, and the improved hitting is great

Great video! This looks exciting. I personally like the skill move edition. As someone who doesn't play NHL games all the time and has never been able to nail more difficult dekes...this is a nice edition. However, I don't think a deke like the Michigan should be a simply button press. I think an extremely difficult deke like the Michigan should NOT be a simple button press. That one should require work. But otherwise for more simpler dekes I do like it.

Honest thoughts will be a bit long: dynamic passing is really great been wanting that in the game for a while. Glass and benching players its a nice to have but it was a feature they used to have re added. I've been asking for a goalie fatigue system since nhl 14 (in general it would be nice if the goalies were more dynamic such as rare stick losses, cellys for shut outs things of that nature) so its cool to see it finally rather than playing goalie and having infinite stamina for all the desperation saves in the world. On the other hand instead of more desperation saves I hope they put in work for making more routine saves as being locked into certain animations lets in goofy goals that an nhl goalie certainly would have reacted to and saved. The deke thing is whack you should have to practice and learn those high skill dekes. Zone pressure system dealio, its interesting but we shall see how it actually plays out. hitting looks nice but fr overall I can't say I'd spend money on it. They better have redone that pricey game of pond hockey and small side note I really wish they would get rid of x factors for consistency like some players who had x factors before didn't have them in 23 and then there was the classic 72 overall rookie with like 5 x factors, the be a pro x factors make most of them require seasons upon seasons to achieve. I will say as someone who has played the NHL games my whole life, I’m not going into practice mode for hours to learn how to pull off dekes in a hockey video game. I know the hardcore players may not like it but the games are here so the people who aren’t nasty at hockey can play in a world where they are so having those skill moves be more accessible is a big plus imo.

Might not mean much to you as you're MUCH more skilled with skill stick than I ever have or dream to be, the new button move thing is such a game changer for someone like me. I'm a decent gamer but always sucked at skill stick for super cool moves - this will let me play the game in a much funner way! 😁

I play goalie a lot on my own in EASHL and in 23, I found the goalies to be very kinda slippery, sliding a lot and leaving open areas of the net. Ngl I’m kinda nervous about the reset for goalie, just a fear of maybe going back in the center of the net when I’m trying to be square to the shooter, I hope that’s not the case

Breaking glass and hits over the boards were featured released in nhl 12, glad they bring it back

Fatigue factor should be interesting. Could influence the type of defenseman you use, as you want it out of your zone quicker. Slow 6’6” with 84 speed may not be as viable. Will be fun to figure out.

Would be great to finally see them have it available on PC too ...

Glass breaking and bench checks were in nhl12. Can’t believe they called it new guess 11 years later people might have forgot.

I switch to goalie when the opponent is on a breakaway. I’ve made some awesome saves but it definitely pissed me off having moment drag me out the net for an open net goal. I think the ability to automatically reset the goalie will be a nice bit of help.

I’m super excited but my favorite part of the reveal is how at 5:26 they outted themselves for not having the best physics/ kind of a glitch looking hit. It’s just funny because while the last time dumping someone was effective was in NHL 12, they still haven’t mastered it. Instead of a player getting sent, they could easily make it to where the player stays in that crouched position until the opponent is off of them versus the opponent getting absolutely launched. Aside from that everything looks great.

I think to be able to pull a Michigan there should be a stat bar for every individual player that you have to raise up to be able to use the single button moves

I’d love the ability to assign X factors to computer guys in CHEL. Also, if your friends get on in the middle of a game, they should be able to jump in through a line change, dead puck, or at period end.

Mad exited but as a goalie I hope to see not so many diving saves as I feel like it takes the realism out of the game but very stocked

The Pressure system seems great; however, the defending team should get a brief boost if they're able to survive the full extended pressure. As long as it's quick and gives just one opportunity for a strong counter, it seems fair and realistic. I've seen lots of goals scored after long, drawn-out defensive stands, especially at home.

This is amazing I just want more to the my career in stead of the same convos every time and not just in the locker room
