The opening 38 secs into the game, what great passing from Slafkovsky to Cole Caufield over to Matheson for the goal. I'm really impressed by the assists Caufield has been racking up. Everyone knows he can score, however, his passing skills shine every game, it seems like.

He has been practicing his passing. I think they got a professional passing coach in to help him develop the skill of passing. Patience, our Habs are looking well in couple years. Caulfield will work on his back hand passing in the off season. Still developing so you never know. GHG

@@chr970 The team I root for the most are the Montreal Canadiens. I would have to say that Caufield is my favourite player in the NHL. He has that raw talent because he's naturally gifted.

@@chr970 If I was to rate Stephane Richer, I'd say his game is an 8.5 out of 10. Cole Caufield would be 7.5 out of 10. Richer was fast flying down the right wing. Caufield is a powerplay threat with Nick Suzuki. Richer scored 50 goals twice for Montreal and Caufield could be the next 50-goal scorer within the next 2 or 3 years.

Looked like a really fun game. I genuinely look forward to when the Canadiens are competitive again because at least from this game alone, they seem to have some fun players to watch and hopefully will make for a great rivalry again in the near future!

Some postives for Montreal tonight against Toronto. The Odd Man Rushes given up and some goals Montembeault probably could have stopped on other nights was the difference. Not all is bad though - Slafkovsky had 2 pts , Caufield got a point, and Newhook scored a goal. The Guhle-Matheson Pair looked good, as well as the 1st line. Maybe a stronger 5 on 5 game by the Newhook-Roy-Armia line though. Solid 2 way game by the 1st line tonight. 64.9% xGoals - while facing the Matthews line for most of the night. Jackets on Tuesday.

Since 1984... no visit to Montreal by Toronto? My personal dream is to see Toronto vs Montreal for the Stanley Cup! Good'ol rivalry from the two founders of North American hockey! Domi was on fire! He bested, outskated THREE Canadians to score. He should be nicknamed "a will of steel". On both sides, that was a heck of a game! Thank you so much.

Surprised Matthews didn’t score tonight. Nice seeing Domi out muscle a few Habs for the goal. A lot of Habs fans were happy to see him have a great game back in his former rink. Speaking of out muscled, my Habs seem so weak. Our d men are continually knocked off the puck and pushed around. The same for our forwards. Suzuki is one of our top forwards, but he has zero strength. He is only about 160 pounds, but lots of small guys seem to have at least some strength. Oh well, maybe in a few years. Toronto looked just okay tonight but will have to play better if they expect to win 3 (or 4?) rounds. Not sure who my Habs play next. Why don’t they give ice time to Mike Pez, he is one of our best working forwards? GHG!

Overall the Leafs played poorly but still a good two points. Those two losses against Boston hurt and will probably be the reason the Leafs finish third in the Atlantic. Hopefully this is just a temporary stretch.

Offensively, that was the most disjointed I've seen the Leafs all season. Juggling all four lines was completely unnecessary. Also, despite what some people might think, Marner is the clear engine of this team. Leafs are completely different without him.

Missed numerous calls against Montreal yet called damn near everything against Toronto, and gave the Habs a PP near the end, which allowed it to be 6 on 4. @@swavekbu4959 i get the frustration, but there's no way a star player who is from Toronto is going to waive his no trade clause out of Toronto, when the team routinely makes the playoffs. Also he's a great at specific aspects of the game, one being speed (which the Leafs lacked in the Florida series) and can play at the same level as one of the best centers this organization has ever seen. I only wish he took about 1.5 mil less.

It has been 56 years since Toronto even made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Even sad sack Montreal, who finished last to secure a playoff spot in the Canadian league just a couple of years ago at least made it to the Stanley Cup finals. Montreal had the worst coach in it's history, the worst GM. From watching this game tonite, Montreal will make it to the Stanley Cup Finals before Toronto will

As for being in the Stanley Cup finals I wholly disagree with you. The Facts are quite simple. Allen's goaltending when Montreal played Pittsburg in the best of 5 is what got Montreal into that position in the first place. Regular season Price stunk up the league, he couldn't stop a beachball. In the year Montreal made the finals again, had it not been for Allen's play in the regular season Montreal would never have made the playoffs. Price regular season play was horrible. His play in the Finals was horrible. Montreal actually outplayed the Bolts in the series. Price was letting in all kinds of soft goals. Had Allen played the Habs probably would have won the Cup....but then again they had the most incompetent coach in the history of the franchise who played a stone cold Price because he wanted to please his boss boss MB who signed an over the hill Price to a ridiculous 8 year contract worth $10.5 million a season .....mind you a goaltender whose job solely depends on reflexes who would be ...what 39 in the last year of this ridiculous contract. That was insanity.....the ownership let the insane take over the management of the club paying them millions of dollars to be incompetent and committing millions more to players on the downside of a career. Josh Anderson plays like he is a member of the Ice Follies or Ice Capades every game, he has a skate on the ice most of the time. Price doesn't even show up for games and doesn't have the decency to retire so the team can buy the drug addict out. Price has no shame in the fact he hid his addiction from the team knowing the narcotics he was getting from his drug dealer slowed up his reaction time. To me, this shows that Price has no decency or class. He didn't care that his teammates busted their ass to get to the finals and played seriously hurt to try to win a Stanley Cup. Price is to selfish a person with no conscience who would remove any opportunity for Allen to lead this team to win a Stanley Cup because it would show once and for all that Price always fell flat on his face when the chips were down. At least Gallagher puts in a 100% effort every game he plays in but should never have been given a long term contract for that money. Those are the real facts.

The good ol “I’m not watching a penalty happen right in front of me” in the dying minute on Armia. Script said 6 on 4 is good enough. Enjoyable game though. No idea how the leafs are going to push through the playoffs barely beating the bottom feeders and getting bent over by top teams.
