Did you know that NHS B&T vehicles when being used for emergency transports on blue lights are very strictly not allowed to contravene the speed limit (under NHS policy, not law).. but they can treat red lights as a give way and pass a keep left bollard on the wrong side

Does anyone happen to know if the NHS Blood and Transplant service have, now, actually ceased using these blue light and siren, emergency response, delivery vehicles? Throughout the the 1990s and and into the early 2000s I used to, occasionally, see these NHS Blood and Transport vehicles rushing to Ipswich Hospital, with both their blue lights flashing and sirens wailing. But ten years must have elapsed by now, since I last saw one on an actual emergency response call.🚑

Definitely haven't stopped! I've done 3 blue light runs today alone. Busier than ever!!

@@Pie_minister_Sean - Approximately three weeks ago, now, I actually saw one of these NHS Blood and Transplant, Ford Transit 350, vans been driven along the main A1156 Norwich Road, located in Ipswich. This vehicle was not, however, on a emergency response call, as neither the blue lights were actually flashing, nor the siren wailing.

@@Polemicist0 The Bristol depot is one of the biggest in Europe and has its own manufacturing department whereas other depots are smaller. We always seem to be kept busy. Have a little video of our Skoda leaving Filton, Bristol on my channel on Xmas day.

@@Pie_minister_Sean Would you actually believe it. For only last week I actually saw one of these NHS Blood and Transplant, Ford Transit 350, vans being driven fast along the A1156 Bury Road, with its siren wailing and numerous blue lights flashing. 🚨

Out of curiousity where does someone look for a job in this field, I'm currently a porter in the NHS and response driving has always been of interested, but of course I am no doctor! I can't save a life but I sure as hell can drive :)
