It seems that mostly southern Germans stick to traditions more than their northern neighbors. I remember watching a video about a Bavarian man who still practices traditions from the Middle Ages.

Not surprised. Historically, Northwest Germany is very liberal, especially in the Free Imperial and Republican cities like Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Cologne. Those where the centers of republican sentiment in Germany are were the flashpoints of the German 1848 Revolution. East of Berlin used to be very, VERY conservative, its society very much stratified with the Junkers gentry on top...

According to Family Lore, we're descendants of Margrave Ruediger and his Sons, hence the Family Name, it's a abbreviation of Nudung, one of Ruedigers sons . Obviously I don't know if this could be considered True since I rather doubt that the Margrave Ruediger really existed. But still it's part of our Lore and it's fun.

Ever hear that truth is stranger than fiction? That's what I've come to realize more and more all the time! This is an awesome painting which tells a story in a still life way! Love the energetic March as it prepared the way for anticipation at it's latter outcome!👍👌🌹🌹❤️😄

We read it in the Waldorf School. I still have the book. We also learned something about the old Germanic Gods, the runes and the history of German language with texts in Old High German and Middle High German. It’s an integral part of the Waldorf curriculum.
