This video shows how to use ScriptCards and Fetch to automate Eldritch Blast so it automatically fires the correct number of beams based on your character's level. Note that a Pro account is required to do this.

One of the things I love most about your videos is the way you explain along the way what you're doing and how it affects the output of the script. Very helpful to those of us who don't really understand a lot of coding, but are capable of learning new tricks!

I am *SLOWLY* learning some code through these! I was able to track down an error I made n a macro two years ago - I couldn’t figure out where I messed up then. I looked at it again a few days ago and spotted it rather quickly. What a difference two years makes!!

I'll make this separate so you can address either of them if you'd like - You're not _really_ accounting for "if Jolo has xyz attribute", you're putting it there and expecting the player (or you) to know that's what it is. Agonizing Blast is a class feature so couldn't you do a query for it and only add the damage if it exists? Same for Genie's Wrath.

That's fair. I think you could write this so it queried everything on the sheet, but I think most DMs and players would be fine with tweaking the card to reflect what invocations and racial abilities the warlock in question has.

Wouldn't the syntax be easier for numberOfBeams if you did the following: 1+{5,11,17}

I personally don't like that syntax - I find it hard to read. You certainly can modify the card to use it though.

@@NickOlivo It definitely is something you gotta think about for a moment to remember what it does. Though I do find it way more helpful than trying to remember how I formatted the values inside of an ability/attribute. At least this way, it's all in one place and there are resources online to easily remind me what that means.

I still can't get the multiple beams to work. i am not sure what the issue is. Everything else works except the numberofbeams. I copied and pasted the code and just changed the invocations as shown. Am I missing something... maybe my fetch isn't working?

In the same boat. I was trying it and it looks like it is not outputting the number of beams. The way the get is written out or that the syntax is different now. Not sure.

If shooting goblins, where you want to change target, does declaring to hit and dmg etc in advance not create a grimace on the face of the DM ?

I love your videos and have incorporated quite a few of your tips and tricks into my roll20 sessions for my group. One of my players is a warlock and I would love to incorporate the macro you go through here but we use dndbeyond as the character building/sheets and the beyond20 extension for chrome to do a lot of the mechanics. While I am guessing no, is there a way to "scrape" data from the dndbeyond to use these type of scripts? I don't want to import the sheet into roll20, just be able to access it with roll20 scripts like the one here. Thanks in advance!
