Yes “apprentice swap” would be a really good idea, get Adam exposed to EV stuff and Ruben exposed to.... the midlands 😂, really good to see Adam progressing and his confidence shines through, well done Adam your doing good, keep up the standard and stick in at college

Very good episode, although you should have left the part in where you discovered the hypervolt was mounted too close to the downcomer and you had to move it across ;)

love the electricians cumunity on KZfaq its brilliant you guys at artizan and nick bundy are all I watch im currently in the middle of my level 3 to then be followed by 2391-52 .... im currently running my own buisness installing kitchens and bathrooms .... p.s I do have an electrician come to do my electrics 😂 all the proper ways I know you lads slate fitters but not every one of em are the same I can vouch for that 😊 ... eventually I will be completing my nvq and my am2 in the long haul. so hopefully be joining the sparky movements in the very near future thanks for all the information and quality of work you guys put out there! I absolutely love that nick bundy has these other companies come together like his house rewire he done a short while ago too its good spirit to see ... keep it up! and thanks again

Good luck with the NVQ level 3 and am2 exam mate. You dont just qualify and then go for your Inspection and testing though pal. Experience comes before being an approved electrician. Good luck

@@adamsharp201 thanks mate ive been doing bits and learning on my own installs with an electrician over the last 2 to 3 years I've now passed my 2365 ... also passed my inspection and testing 2391-52.... recently I studied last year the domestic electrician fast track and 18th edition ect I could of registered last year before they changed the requirements I just felt I wasn't particularly ready and full of confidence at that time... I've done fuse board changes kitchen re-wires bath spa shed re-wires ect under supervision of my qualified electrician. But again he's only a domestic electrician himself. I'm getting there I'm hopefully getting on the nvq 2357 this weekend and then I can look over the requirements for the units and proof ... get that sorted and once I feel I'm achieving the required evidence I'll then go and do my am2

I did think the loop into the charger was going to be very tight where it was fitted but thats all part of the learning curve. Really enjoy the vlogs as a UK sparky living in Oz for twenty years now.

It’d definitely be good Adam and Reuben swapping, mainly because of what Adam said in that he and Nick mainly do house bashing whereas Artisan are for EV Chargers. But it may also be good Adam working with Reuben, because it feels like Adam is at the stage where he knows what’s needed to be done and gets what he needs to be ready, ready. And also he can give Reuben a slightly more experienced apprentices advice and any slip up’s that Adam has made and how to avoid them will still be quite fresh. Would also be interesting to see Dave Savery and Nigel’s take on doing an EV charger install, I can see them providing some interesting/different ideas. The same for CJR, I’ve only seen him do one EV charger so far, and his experience with building construction, would be good for cable routing. In fact there’s quite a few up and coming channels and all the people are good and constantly improving on there too. Great video as always!

WOW, such a great Colab between both, great job, great video, long awaited, but well worth it (will Artisan go North now, for another one?) Really like the ending too, both the "what is it" - "it's a prawn Nick" and the van defrosting, all good humour and fantastic content. Well done all, and OMG the Apprentice Wife swap MUST happen :) look fwd to that. Really hope Nick makes it to 100k subs, as all genuine people. Thumbs up 100%.... :)

When I saw Adam mounting that hypervolt I thought that's a bit close to the old drain pipe? Did you have to move it?

That’s what I thought, sure they moved it so the cable can wrap round. Notice at the end the 5.5 holes just above.

Did the EV charger move? Towards the beginning of video it looks really close to the drain pipe and then at the end you see the tether being wrapped about the charger with more space.

Huh just learnt more about Type AB/ A / C RCDs I knew we used type A? For EV chargers but none of my tradesmen could tell me why, I assume it was to detect a DC fault current which didn’t make sense as it’s isolated thru a transformer somwhere along the line

We've had a lot of issues with the latest version of Hypervolt. They're disconnecting from Wifi after a period of time and then you can't connect to the device again. Every charge is showing as the same cost (£) and the locking of the device fails often. Hypervolt are aware of this but there's no fix currently.

I’m pretty sure the charger was moved, it looked too close to the down pipe, movie magic (they didn’t show the error correction). or am i crazy. good lesson learned maybe, bit more space to wrap the cable up.

What documents do you need for your country to do electrical work?🇧🇩❤️❤️

@@kirkhamandy I don't think you're all that far off TBH! By law, you have to be competent. The issue comes in demonstrating that. Domestic electrical works have to be notified to the local authority (though I guess many jobs aren't). To do something in a non domestic property you don't have to have any qualifications at all, but the person employing you to do the work may want some proof you're not a complete idiot.

You need an NVQ level 3 in electrical installation pal. 4 year course and then become an approved electrician like me and pass your test and Inspection 2391 or 2394/5 course after years of hard work. Clearly you guys aren't intelligent enough fools
