It's actually closer to a 3 year exemption on the Tour if he decides to turn pro now since the 2024 season just started. I think he's going to find it difficult to pass up that opportunity. I was only able to catch the highlights from the tournament, but he looks like the real deal.

I took two things out of this tournament. One: we may have witnessed the next, young future star on the horizon in professional golf (but its golf so who knows). Two: Brandel Chamblee should be NBC's next lead anchor...hands down. Forget about hiring someone who is a major winner or hall of famer...just promote the guy who can do the job and do it very well. He's intelligent, knowledgeable, insightful and a natural in front of the mic. Yeah he has stirred up a lot of controversy and some bad feelings as a studio analyst, but in the tower he shined.

Farmers Insurance has to be mad as hell when Nick Dunlap withdrew from the Torrey Pines event this weekend. Sponsorship is going to dry up quickly if the current ratings with PGA golf continues to dwindle. A Nick Dunlap appearance would have been a wonderful event this weekend and a tremendous draw to the PGA TV set. I am wondering if LiV made a phone call to him. Love it or leave it, LiV is not going away.

It's not like it's football and he could blow out a hip or achilles that ends his career before going pro. He has exemption through 2025 and can enjoy his college years, maybe get a national championship and still have a long professional career.

Turning pro would be a mistake at his age and experience level; if you are good the opportunity is always there, the percentages would be against him, and expectations would be unrealistic. But, if he were to turn pro, the windfall would be greatest on LIV, he reaps the motherlode upfront and 4yr exemption, and the tours merging only brings more gold.
