I so agree! I actually feel like the whole point of that amazing last episode scene was Nick really seeing that and expressing to Charlie that he wants to be there for him as much as Charlie was for him. It's a beautiful scene because Charlie is finally being really seen for who he is, what he's gone through, and what he is constantly doing for other people.

​@@graphiquejackthey are both very careful with the others feelings, both very respectful, loving and thinking of the other. Nick tends to be a bit more open and vulnerable about how he's feeling personally whereas Charlie has the very relatable issue of keeping things to himself so as not to "be a bother". They are both wonderful characters and I think comparing one or the other as being better is not necessary.

It’s annoying when people don't realise that a part of Nick’s coming out is overcoming the constant bi erasure and dismissal that happens. 😐 If people are annoyed by Nick affirming his sexuality why are they watching the show? 😭

I think it's a very important part of nicks story, but for some reason I think the way he says it is so cringey and I feel so bad about it. Like i dont have a problem with bisexuality or with nick being bi I just think the way he says it in the show is so weird. Idk how to explain it and like I said I feel rlly bad abt it. But I love nick and I love kit

It didn't annoy me, but it made me uncomfortable and I can explain. Whenever he said "bi actually", or "I still like girls", it felt as if he could already foresee a future when he could have a crush on a girl again, I mean someone that isn' t Charlie. Of course, saying "I'm gay" would mean he could have a crush on another boy. I understand that it's him coming out as who he really is and that's important. I totally respect and and admire that. Besides, regardless of one's sexual orientation, there's always a huge chance of falling for someone else, especially when you're this young. The thing is, in a fairytale-like show, it sounded ominous. I got scared it would actually happen on screen and I would have to cry my eyes out. Prince Charming isn't supposed to think that Cinderella won't be his last love.

I think underlying this there is another stereotype against bi people: that they are unfaithful and constantly missing dating someone of the gender they currently aren't. Being faithful and monogamous, bi people will always be assumed to be either gay or straight and it feels horrible to be stripped of your identity like that no matter who you date. This is why Nick reaffirms him being bi all the time.

I usually don't reply to comments but I just had to for this one... I'm bisexual too, and it's literally the worst thing when people are like David. Like being bi is a valid sexuality, just like straight, gay, lesbian, etc, I don't understand why people get weird when someone is bi. All that to say, I feel ya bestie

As a bisexual, I love the representation of Nick's character and his coming out process. I relate to him so much. Because I was with a guy when I came out, my parents were like "why tell people tho. Just hide it if you're with a guy." I hate when people try to erase me, but having both the positive and negative reactions to Nick's coming out made me feel so seen. I'm not the only one who goes through a tough time. Having positive reactions like Nick's mum and Charlie's friends are fabulous, and I'm really glad we had his scene with his mum before we met the bad brother and father.

Also the sheer prevalence of queer characters and acceptance in this show! We get to see all kinds of queer folks - all different identities, different journeys, different ages. It's so common for queer people to feel isolated and out of place, and seeing a show like this - with a queer friend group, supportive queer teachers, and a multitude of accepting allies - is so nice.
