I still think Mata Nui would be better off gold - if for no other reason than having a proper alternative to selling your kidney for a pearl gold ignika.

What a great way to wrap up the Glatorian mods. I honestly really like the choice to keep Mata Nui mostly mechanical, it gives him a more distinct vibe when placed with your other Glatorian mocs. It also makes me wonder what the Glatorian must have thought meeting him for the first time, seeing this masked being with so many gears and pistons. Perhaps they would have thought he was a General Grievous type case, a Glatorian with so many cybernetics that he's now more machine than man. Which definitely provides an interesting dichotomy to Mata Nui's very "human" heart.

This series actually taught me so much about character design, this was wonderful

The character development in going from rejection g the design to embracing it is amazing. I feel like a lot of moc builders start this way-trying to solve the problems with sets and as they develop their tastes start to gain better understanding of the originals

Ah I remember when the Gresh episode came out. I pulled apart my Stars Gresh and Vastus and tried imitating it, substituting the original set’s lime claw pieces for the lime stars armor add ons as the side skirts. My eyes lit up watching your Vastus mod video and seeing you did the same thing that I did years ago trying to imitate your Gresh with the parts I had. I’ve loved having these Glatorian mods to look forward to, heck I’ve been watching them first thing in the morning when they come out. I’ll miss seeing my favorite year of bionicle get mods for a while, but I still love the rest of the series. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these, and congratulations on getting through all the main sets. PS: have you considered filling out the gaps in metru shins with a 3x1 curved slope and a 1x1 tile? It fills them out perfectly. I saw you used a Bohrok eye in the Gelu video to make it look a little more organic and I’ve been wondering if you considered that

Again, I cant thank you enough for this entire Glatorian mod series. It inspired me to go back at making mocs and revamping my old builds. Each of your part choices are cleverly picked, from the movable skirt and shoulder armor so that the limbs can move freely, the friction add-ons giving stability as well as additional space so that the legs can bend in a sitting or split position, the Metru chest pieces sandwiched underneath the chest pieces so that they fill in what would otherwise be empty or skinny space, the Inika armor shells placed as leg back covering, the Piraka leg pieces used so that they dont hit the larger ccbs shells of the arms when bending the limb, how the texture of the Chima elegant armor add-on matches with the lower textures of the pearl gold Inika chest, etc. After trying out your build techniques myself I can tell that you put a lot of care with these. What is also great is because they are relatively small builds that dont use too many pieces, its all the more doable for people with a set budget to recreate. Simply brilliant work Nick!

I really like how you kept him smaller than other characters. If I remember correctly Ackar was slightly bigger than Mata Nui in the Movie so its fitting. I like the god sword you made since it becomes a surf board it fits with Toa Ignika, his predecessor. That and it also fits with the surfing deal of Tahu all the way back in the original year.

Those mocs are awesome! An Earth Tribe Glatorian and Sister of The Skrall are two we never got any images of, and in the case of the Earth Tribe they were just tacked on after the series ended but still sound like a neat idea.

Never understood people's criticism towards this set: one should wonder how much "experience" Mata Nui himself had on body proportions and how much the Ignika itself influenced the birth of this body. To me, it's like a newborn trying to find a proper shape, mixing ancient knowledge (the shoulder armor) with most recent experience (Matoro Mahri's shoulder armor, retained by Toa Ignika too and even the keetorange-black colorscheme from Toa Ignika). This is THE Mata Nui but the body is just a temporary means made possible by a mask that has its own history and independence. Both entities ended up forming this weird yet unique, and even storied shape. And yet, it's also charming in its pristine innocence, exactly like a newborn. Anyway, I lost track. All this to say that I really appreciate this revamp, since it's very faithful to the appeal of the original set.

great build. Honestly have been looking for ways to replace his upper arms and legs because both parts have shattered due to the fragility of 2009 sets

They should've at least make his helmet gold, or give him two, other than that, I agree that he looks better yellow. And damn, no wonder Teridax tried to usurp him, Mata-boy is THICC! He feels slightly on a plain side, but I really don't know if you can add much to change that. The only thing I can think of is a shield, I've seen some MOCs of it that looks pretty similar to movie one. Also, feet change was a choice that I'm not sure how I feel about. Previous feet works well with ankle guards, making the shape of the whole feet flow nicely, Metru feet feels too narrow. I'm not calling that a bad choice, it just takes a bit for me to get used to. But as always pretty amazing mod once more!

"I am Mata Nui" Michael Dorn was great casting for The Great Spirit. Wish they did a movie for the final fight against Terry, but eh. Great Mod. Personally I like him not being gold, as the Mask of Life was weakened during this time, but not so weak that it would turn silver, thus yellow seems fitting. Plus, since his armor looks to be based around sand, he's kinda a take on Toa of Stone, kinda. Quick question, if you could choose any of the elements in Bionicle, which would you choose? (Me personally I like Ice and Stone)

I've given the 'organic' thing some thought, and, well, darnit, the more I think about it, the more I think the people on BM should be even more mechanical in appearance than the people from the MU. My thought process is this; according to Farshtey, the Glatorian/Agori were entirely organic, before the 'Great Beings' started 'improving' them, making them cyborgs, as it seems. As such; shouldn't the Glatorian and the like look more mechanical, then? They're effectively the Great Beings' prototype for the Matoran Universe, which is why the Toa and Matoran and the like look like robots made of flexible, organic metal [Protodermis] in the movies; because they are the Great Beings' design work perfected, taking everything they learned from 'upgrading' their own people, and making theoretically perfect beings, supposedly lacking in the flaws of the Glatorian [and why they were used to pilot Mata Nui, instead of the Bara Magnans, since the Matoran were mindless drones, and likely less prone to error for such a crucial mission] Meanwhile; the Glatorian were 'upgraded' before the discovery of Protodermis, so, then; its only natural [at least to me, I suppose] that the characters in 'The Legend Reborn' look even more mechanical; because they're crafted with primitive designs and inferior resources. And actually; that idea fits spectacularly with Kiina's resentment towards the Great Beings in the movie, as they messed up so much of their planet and the people... only to abandon it and leave their people to slowly fall apart and die in the hostile desert remains, forcing them to fight for survival, and make crude repairs to their own bodies, becoming even more rugged and machinelike. Maybe Kiina doesn't know about the specifics of the Great Beings, but it does still fit

I’m really excited to get a closer look at your Sister of the Skrall. All of your Glatorians look great and seeing full MOCs in this style will be a lot of fun. I built my own female Skrall recently, and while mine went in a very different direction to yours, it’s nice to see that you didn’t go the same route a lot of female Skrall MOCs went. Was not a fan of how a lot of them interpreted “female”. I’ve got that and a few other MOCs I’m proud of that I’ve been meaning to share somewhere. Where’s a good place to go for that? I’m not interested in using Reddit and was underwhelmed when I checked out BZPower.
